Voted 80-85. I don't know where all the hype about this game is coming from. A few things look interesting to me, but I need to check this game out first.

I've never been the biggest Bethesda fan either.

Yep. Should have been much, much lower. Seeing Diablo IV go from a critical darling to industry punching bag is hilarious. Total turd. Hopefully Starfield doesn't suffer the same fate. We won't truly know until everyone's had time to sink 200 hours in it. Soon.

Extremely ambitious, accomplishing many things never done before in videogames, but still has some of that typical Bethesda jank.

What are you talking about? Metacritic for Fallout 4 is 84%, at least for the PC version. Which is spot on and aligns with the most reliable score there is: Steam user reviews (83% positive from 200k reviews).

It will probably be beautiful and fun, but using a very similar formula. Both 1 and Miles Morales didn't even hit 90 on metacritic. Actually, if I am not mistaken, no Insominac game ever did.

After watching all those leaked videos I'd say it will land somewhere in the high 80s. My guess is between 87-89, unless jornos fall into the hype and let slide some flaws.

I agree, that's the problem, and quite sad.

Many care more about a score than the game itself. This discourages innovation and risk-taking. If I were a developer I would try to develop some 8h game with a good story and nice graphics. Easier said than done, but the chances of hitting a score above 90 on metacritic are higher. It seen that's what matters, Metacritic, not the game. I wonder how many pearls go unnoticed because they got a 7.5.

I've never understood this. I'm playing God of War now and its full of action and rewarding combat. I mean it has a story so=talking simulator!
The last of us has some of the most brutally satisfying combat I've experienced but "talking sim" I guess.
