You wouldn't need profiles on the PSP, it connects to your PS5 as if it is a second screen. There is nothing saved on the device, its just a screen for remote play.

it's just a second screen for the PS5. You don't have profiles on the unit as you don't save anything to the device. you control the profiles as you normally would. Dont think of it as a Switch, Steam Deck, or even the app on your phone, it's literally just a screen. HOWEVER, Sony says they are looking into direct-to-cloud streaming. I would imagine that the custom OS on the device would get an update to have profiles.
No haptics mic or speaker tho

Honestly the battery life is better than that with streaming on Chiaki and XbPlay because it’s not too hardware intensive: kind of a pain to get it set up but streaming both PS5 and Xbox on one device and having native games ensures I’m not getting a Portal.

What the hell? I stood up for this device when I thought it had direct connection with PS5 with some sort of USB dongle or the like.
With wifi and testing over 120ms, it sucks compared to using a Wii U gamepad. What a fucking joke. If you want to play PS5 games at home that bad, you may as well do it a different way that will also allow it out of the house and do anything else you want.

So have had mine a few hours and COD is tough and not really enjoyable as the lag can really be felt and gets your wrecked. MLB The Show and NBA 2k are near perfect. Will put more games through their pace’s tomorrow but very happy with it.

Dang. So single player experiences are good but anything close to competitive it's not going to be a good experience? So no grinding camos/skins because you'll get smoked.

That's good to hear! When I play COD on my PS5, I always play it in 120hz mode, so I don't expect to be able to be successful playing COD on the Portal. But with single-player games, I would hope that the Portal plays well even if it doesn't have WiFi 6. Please keep us updated!

MLB the show was one I had problem streaming on my GCloud due to the timing for hitting. Nice to hear it plays well on the Portal. Of course my hitting is trash either way.
In japan,they call this sort of attitude 'Tsundere' where a person shows outright they dislike/hate something but deep down inside their heart they love it so much.

Hitting is a little trickier as I usually use the stick for directional hitting but just using one click hitting on this and it’s doing fine but my house has a very powerful router mesh system so signal is very good

It’s not ideal and was getting wrecked regularly because of the split second delay. It’s doable for just grinding camos but I wouldn’t use it going in hoping to top the leaderboards
I would not want to try and be super competitive using it online

Oh side note reviews probably mentioned this but I will say it anyhow this thing feels great in the hands but the sticks are smaller than the dualsense
Its not terrible but being a large man with grizzly bear sized hands i can sure feel the size difference

None. Streaming is not quite there yet, and I don't know if it will ever get there for COD. I have 600 Mbps download speed, and am connected by wired to my router, and I'm usually in the top 3 in my games. But some games I find myself at the bottom 3 even though the game is telling me that my connection is less than 20 ms. I can't imagine we'll be getting a streaming device with no lags anytime soon.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
It’s literally the only thing it can do for no reason. Its hardware is able to but can’t access PS5 media app or cloud streaming. Actually, I am going to push for it to never get updated for PS cloud streaming or app support since that’s what some of you guys want.

Then set priority hi for the PS and PSPortable. Sometimes called QoS or other. Some mesh systems don't even allow this like a certain eero system. Since the Portable will be wireless this will give you the best connection with it.

Besides, I want to be able to play on the couch or in bed, so PC and Mac aren't even an option.

Is it just as good as a "native handheld" experience? Like literally a PS5 in my hands with very little compromises? I could play some twitch based game and love it?

It is a remote play device. Sony is advertising it as a remote play device. People are buying it as a remote play device so much so that it is already out of stock.
If Cloud Streaming comes, that will be an added bonus. If it doesn't come, there is no harm done as it is not one of the advertised/promised features anyway.

You’re certainly charged nothing if you want to stream GeForce Now games on the deck on your existing GFN subscription.
There’s PS5 game streaming on PS Plus Premium and that certainly isn’t free.

Haptics and triggers are identical. I haven't tried anything twitch based or competitive but it works really well with singleplayer games.

Some of the reviews are overly critical. It’s not any more limited than the Steam Link + Steam controller setup in the past and that had really good critic reception for a device that could only do local streaming.
This would certainly have been a lifesaver for me when my kids were much younger and I couldn’t play certain mature games on the home console. Or when they’d hog the TV with their cartoons and stuff.
