Does this mean Blade is Xbox console exclusive?

My guess is that it is still in negotiations for target platforms with M$ who might use it as a 'bargaining chip' for some Sony title (Spider-Man 2?).

Revenue. GP is losing money not making it. 35M players is very misleading especially when most of those are GP subscriber's who'll try out a game and not play it again.

Xbox is losing so much relevance and games can't afford to miss playstation. Personally I don't think Marvel is retarded and this will Indeed come to playstation.
It's not that big an IP or in demand at all at PS tbh. I don't see why Disney would choose this to force MS' hand.

Xbox does not release console exclusive titles.

If they did release console exclusive on Xbox, do you think they would have a better or the same result in their place in gaming?

Why wouldn't it be day 1 Gamepass? This is a Microsoft/Bethesda published game, it will be on game pass day 1.
I think they will be looking for to sell a ton of copies for licensing. They maybe the publisher but gp hasn't necessarily translated to sales.

If I had to guess this has everything to do with Marvel.

Marvel is probably aware of Xbox's poor hardware and software sales and might not feel 100% confident putting this exclusively on that kind of platform. If Xbox offers them a Gamepass deal it might be extremely prohibitive as they (Marvel) will look at what Spider-Man has done and factor into how much Blade could do (obviously less than Spider-Man) and if it was on two platforms instead of just Xbox.

I just don't see how Xbox can turn a profit if they keep spending millions and billions just to get games on their platform.

if sony is allowed to make wovlerine and spiderman 2 exlcusive, why wont xbox be allowed to make blade exclusive?
MS can do whatever they want are far as releasing games. They did whatever they wanted with Starfield. And plenty of other games.

MS should at least say it's gonna be on Xbox. What's there to gain by being hush hush?

If they're purposely not saying anything....IMO they care more about appeasing some rabid fanboys vs some clarity.

It would make no difference..

Now, maybe if they forced Starfield as a console exclusive they would've seen a small blip but overall... it doesn't matter

I don't think anybody is saying they aren't allowed to make it exclusive. They're just speculating on why MS has been so coy and not confirmed whether it's exclusive or not. They've not even confirmed if it's going to gp which is even stranger. One of those speculated reasons is that Marvel wants a little more money in the deal than what going xbox exclusive could offer. Nobody really knows the real reason though. Why MS are playing stupid with this announcement is unknown but nobody is saying they're not allowed to make it exclusive.

Then why give t to MS in the first place?
Because the IP is doing nothing for them and Sony would need paid to make it, and even if Microsoft mess up they've still made money by someone else developing a highly risky game with an IP that isn't worth the development money - unless the talent making it prove otherwise.

The coy situation of exclusivity with such a weak Marvel IP for Xbox tells you that even from that position Marvel consider Blade less weak than Xbox as an exclusive ecosystem, which in itself is quite amazing IMO. Hopefully it is just Xbox being coy and they will slap an exclusive tag on it soon, to clear all that up, but like others I very much doubt Marvel are prepared to overlook PlayStation even with an IP like Blade that massively needs rebooted to make it a valid game purchase for the wider market.

yet, it will easily sell infinitely more on the pS5 than all of those. Even mentioning cloud is a joke. The amount of people buying and exclusively playing the game on cloud would likely be well under 5 digits.
You live in a dream world, my guy. Your disdain for anything Microsoft has blinded you completely. You're barely speaking English FFS. Let alone making ANY KIND of sense. Holy....

Yeah its definitely going to be Xbox exclusive.
I dont know im not excited for it, current Arkane has been disappointing to me, their last good game was Prey, surprisingly its also the last game that had Raphael working on it.
Youngblood -> Deathloop -> Redfall and now a 3rd person action game with Marvel?! i dont know about that, but i fear Arkane are dead, they are no longer the immersive sim dev i liked.
Only, this isnt the same Arkane. Arkane Austin made Redfall.

Except what I said is 100% correct. I am sorry if what I said hurt your feelings.

You somehow believe that Xbox is going to turn around when they LOST console sales the month Starfield.

And somehow I am the one who is dreaming?

As others have mentioned; eventually Microsoft will announce that the game is an Xbox platform exclusive. For those saying the IP isnt as popular as Spiderman, if you read the room (meaning the excitement around the announcement) it definitely has the potential to be very successful as many have stated their excitement for it. Not to mention the face that Arkane Lyon (a first party studio) is making the game and made the announcement with Marvel at the game awards. There's just no reason to hand the IP to a Microsoft owned developer.

As far as Disney is concerned, the best relationship to have with them is money. So, baring some esoteric deal from the twilight zone, this title will probably be an exclusive with Microsoft paying to have it made be Arkane Lyon, with a day one release on Gamepass.

I'm just using rational. Dont @ me.

Dumb shit doesnt hurt my feelings. Dumb shit stated with conviction makes me burp. ;P

As I said, you're so up in arms you cant fathom Xbox not being all about console sales even though they haven't been about console sales for damn near an era. They have consoles, digital devices, computers and cloud. In case you've missed it; Xbox is a PLATFORM not just a plastic box.

This is where you're wrong bucko. Xbox is living proof that money alone won't solve problems. They try to solve everything by throwing money at it. It hasn't moved the needle for them in the metrics that matter in any way.

In regards to Blade, no Blade isn't as popular or even close to SPiderman or WOlverine, but a good game will go a long way.

Despite what you may think, I am actually rooting for a good game.

I would imagine they aren't saying it's a console exclusive to keep rabid fanboys from downplaying and astroturfing the game as long as possible.

Ah yes, the PLATFORM argument. A platform that has no real vision other than to pick up subscribers that they haven't done so far.

Here is reality:
1. Nobody does Cloud gaming and nobody sure as hell will buy into cloud gaming to pay a $17 a month fee. Stadia tried this and failed. They aint getting Gamepass subscribers to use the Cloud.
2. The consoles aren't selling except for a 4% increase from last year. Hey that is something....except compared to Sonys near 126% increase https://www.gamesindustry.biz/call-...e-sales-dipping-in-november-uk-monthly-charts
3. You bring up PC. Almost nobody purchases anything from the Windows store and/or PC Gamepass. Steam will be where the majority of the Xbox games are purchased. If you want to call that a victory then by all means, but at that point they might as well be 3rd party. Yes, PS releases games on PC, but they come a year and a half or more after the majority of the sales come from Playstation....and I bet PS games outsell Xbox exclusive ones by quite a bit.

Sure, they have a platform, but in all areas that they do have a foothold they end up being dead last.

I really hate sounding like a Sony fanboy, I really do. But I am just disgusted by how poorly MS has done and how they completely blew the success from the 360 era.

Well, people have been talking about the game a lot more than they maybe would have been if they came out and said it was exclusive....

God knows what their thought process is. Maybe they are waiting to deliver a, hopefully, awesome trailer to book end it with an exclusive on PC and xbox shout....

I have no idea how any of this stuff works with Bethesda and MS. It's strange.

In all honesty, if they wouldve announced it was Xbox exclusive it wouldve been BBQ'd in real time.

Never would have thought it would be Blade that would break everyone's brains this year, sheesh. This already feels worse than the complaining crying and begging we saw with Starfield. Who cares if this comes out on PlayStation or not? It's being made by an MS studio... If you want to play an Xbox game buy an Xbox. I play Spiderman on my PS5 not my Series X. No complaints here.

Bingo!

It just comes across as some type of port begging that stinks of some weird sort of entitlement.

Or, you know, people just want to know as it's weird MS aren't shouting GamePass Exclusive which they normally do. Nothing to do with port begging, in fact most probably don't even give a shit about Blade (what's the betting the new movie flops?)

Hmm, tweet says 'its up to Bethesda', interview says 'ask Bethesda'

So still no confirmation either way, come on MS, just say what's up (I don't really care I'll just play it on whatever it comes out on, fan of the first couple of films, but not really looking forward to the new one yet, Snipes is Blade)
You still need confirmation when Bethesda is owned by Microsoft?

Anyway, I liked Blade I and II. III was ass but funny. The new Blade should do much better if they can get the screenplay right.

Lol….. are we reading the same thread comments?

And if

then maybe people can stop capping so hard? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Well, yes, I personally would like confirmation and to know why they didn't announce it as exclusive if it is. Call it curiosity, but it's just a little weird if you ask me. What makes this particular game different? They'd normally have GamePass Exclusive in lights, bragging about it, every XBox channel would be going mental.

This is like VAR in football, can't celebrate too early, kills the excitement.

Well, look at that 😅😅😅….. turns out Disney feels the Xbox platform is broad enough assuming it is exclusive. Citing Indian jones exclusivity.

That kills off some of the theories people have come up with here….. it really is in MS/ Bethesda hands.Disney are cool with it….. anybody else gotta any other dumb theories they wanna throw around?

I’m sticking to my original reasoning….. Xbox exclusives clearly get people talking….. this is easy marketing for them.

We still got people holding in hope for a port of starfield on PlayStation. And yet here I am….. not giving a shit that I’ll never play Spider-Man or wolverine on my Xbox….. why is it so hard for them to get over it and do the same?

I just realized; Starfield has no XGS logos or anything on it, either. Its probably just a Bethesda thing.

Given that we only know that Indiana Jones is exclusive because of the FTC trial, I'd say Blade probably is too but they're doing the same thing and holding back on platform announcements for some reason.
That reason is probably because speculation is free publicity.

Like I said, it's weird MS haven't come out and said it's exclusive, simple as that
