Turnip greens with smoked hog jowl cut in strips and fried like bacon is also used as seasoning for peas.
Salt pork is used to add flavor to turnip greens.

Black eyed peas is a must for New Years where I live.
Collards are also a must. Collards supposedly insures plenty of folding money and the peas are for plenty of change for the upcoming year.

Not necessarily true. Myself and many others have clawed ourselves back from the darkest depths of mental illness. I'll probably always be a work in progress, but I'll never stop trying to evolve from my diagnoses.

It's more the fact that Peter Hitchens says addiction is a choice or can be stopped at any time which annoys me. Give him a six week course of OxyContin and then just stop his dosage! I'd be interested in his change of heart regarding addiction.
