It's crazy that the Machine could move itself, even going to lengths to use Dead Government Leader guy's voice. I guess it can keep recordings of people's voice, and recreate the sound of it. It couldn't just "chop" it up like the "Can you hear me?" bit, as that would sound strange.

I mean, if it can hire a ghost data entry corporation to back itself up, makes sense it could orchestrate a move. Pretty scary if it ever goes evil.

That...was...groundbreaking...

Congratulations Nolan and company, you have the distinct achievement of creating my favourite show of all time. The twists, turns and intrigue has shaken my perceptions of life and the digital divide that is quickly merging towards a new reality...

That ending though, wow...Things never stay the same and though I imagined this coming, not like this and not to that extent. This is a game changer. Reese and Finch work will evolve dramatically and Root...Amy Acker is the best.

I can't wait for S3 and so many questions to answer and so many relationships to expand.

...IT HAS RISEN

EDIT:

I interpreted the ending as The Machine granting Root and Reese (though Finch could pick up the phone) as permanent administrative rights. Though I guess S3 premier will show the extent of their capabilities and what happens to the Machine now. I imagine it does not have to wipe its memories every night so its evolution is unimaginable...

Also, I have this feeling that Fusco was not shown for a reason. Either they didn't have time for a full story line or he's doing reconnaissance to understand the HR hierarchy and it will be revealed early in S3.

It probably hasn't hit me yet, of what's "changed" with The Machine. I guess it's now truly "un-findable" and with control over itself, right? It gets to decide what it wants to do, and decided to continue on with the status quo, except for whatever is going on with Root.

Sure seemed like the Government knew where the Machine was, cause I'm unsure how Hersch and the Leader arrived there as well, as well as have that conversation with Lonely Guy. PS: Hersch is a bad bad dude.

Sadly, Decima straight up disappeared, Carter's story is left hanging (though with the tasty treat that Elias is out of prison, for the time being) and Fusco had 2 straight episodes off to end the season (though, I had heard he wasn't in the finale earlier today). Can't answer everything!

I know this isn't 24 but I don't care, we need a 2-hour season premier for S3.

After about the 3rd or 4th badass thing Reese and Shaw did this episode I thought "all this show needs right now is for Jack Bauer to show up"

Jack would need a job, since the Machine fixed the worthlessness of CTU. Jack + The Machine = Utopia.

I kinda disliked how they've kinda dropped Carter. I understand to an extent its to protect her but still. I'm curious how the new formula will go with three parties searching for the machines location and Carter's current predicament. Where things seem to hint at is an on going hunt for it similar to the past two episodes. However, I suspect the series formula will still be similar with the machine still randomly giving John numbers and Carter will somehow wiggle her away out of her current predicament and still do her regular work. The hunt for the machine and Carter's fight with corruption will be the on going arcs that will slowly develop and culminate in the mid season finale outside of the standard PoI episodes.

Although I'm curious what will become of Shaw and how the new dynamic with Finch and John will change with John getting the numbers.

I think the search for the machine will get seriously toned down for a good chunk of next season. Now that the numbers are starting up again and the machine has disappeared, everyone will be too busy in the day to day grind to keep searching for the machine with the intensity of the second half of this season. John and Finch will deal with the non-relevant numbers, and Shaw can disappear for episodes at a time chasing down possible traces of the machine. I'm ok with what they're doing with Carter. She seemingly has a powerful new ally in Elias, who can no doubt give her the help she needs to clear her name, and provide her with some protection. Plus, it gives her a bigger piece in the overall fight with HR. Especially now that she knows about Beecher.

I don't think it's necessarily giving John the numbers specifically, I think it still recognizes Reese and Finch as a team. It's returned to the status quo: giving the government the relevant numbers (even though they weren't a system admin) and John/Harold the irrelevant numbers (because they've treated the Machine alright/helped protect it). The new wrinkle is that the Machine is also using Root for a purpose we don't know yet.

Also, noticed the camera's in the Nuke plant, with a time code of 20:59. I was wondering, "well, that's not midnight" then I "doh, it's Midnight EST" and their in Washington State, 3 hours behind. 21:00 PST is 24:00 EST.

Wow. Such a badass episode. Nicely wrapped stuff up to resume procedural elements and yet changed so much in the overall game. And they even managed to squeeze Carter in there in a way that will give her some awesome story arcs in the future.

Best show on tv.

Apart from ditching Fusco, this was a fantastic episode of a brilliant season.
I loved the brutes duo, Shaw again was a badass, especially in that Ferrari gif scene above.

This whole series has so much potential: we have two main leads, but now Shaw can easily replace Reese if needed and carry an episode by herself, we can have Carter and Fusco battling HR with Elias' help, hell, we can even have a fighting crime conman-dog team Leon and Bear.
It's awesome.

I can't believe i stopped watching the series after the first few episodes. I'm glad that I came back.

Fucking loved this episode. The turn right in 100 yards thing went a little overboard imo, but it made a funny scene at least :lol

I wonder what's gonna happen to Carter and Fusco next season and how the machine will behave. Bring it on!

I loved this shot from the machine.
Loved keeping up with the time code on the camera's. They wrapped up in Washington sometime between 12-2 AM, and Finch and Reese are talking in NYC about 3 PM. Enough time to get back.

Expected to take 80 hours to complete everything in the game

Some people don't like long playtimes, but I'm ok with that much time if the game is good.

Sounds like it has the FarCry 3 base concept. To access Maps/hacking ability in an area, take on a base.

Can someone answer, what was the purpose of giving someone unfettered 24 hour access to the machine? Did finch plan on being the only one knowing which phone it would be or something?

also, was nathan killed in the hospital via injection or were his injuries that bad? his face looked bad but i ask because of what the agents said after he died.

Well, at least it was steady. But Steady 2.4's, I believe, for the last 3 weeks. CBS just doesn't want to advertise for this, I rarely see it mentioned.

Well..the admin mode gets activated in event of complete catastrophe. So you need tools to fix the problems and eliminate threats, both of which are too big for normal numbers to sufice.

Can you Hear Me is good.

I'll throw some attempts at a title:

Bear with us while we get to the Root of the problem.
That one time your computer shipped itself to a better place.
I love the smell of Surveillance in the morning, noon and night.
You won't find us, We'll find you.
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not trying to kill you.
I was a Mercenary badass, until I got a bullet to the knee.

and my way-to-early suggestion:
All Knees Must Go
