Saaaaay I've been meaning to ask:
There are 3 PSP AC games on US PSN, are any of them worth getting?

Got my copy. The only copy at gamestop too.

Hmm...I'd recommend AC3 or Last Raven. I don't know how they perform on psp or vita (is it compatible?) tho

i want to get it, but i have no money to spare for it. i loved V for what it was, it slowed down the ridiculous yet fun pace of 4/4A to something closer to the originals.

also i loved the online focus, for the time my friends and i played it, it brought us back to chromehounds, which we played the shit out of online way back when.

Sorry if this sounds cold but I'll wait a few weeks and buy it at a third of the price.

I liked AC:4 Answer, but the ridiculous amount of slowdowns to the point of slideshow levels was really off-putting to me, and it seems that by nearly all accounts AC5 was considered a worse game, so I'll wait until it's out, until reviews are made, and until it is at a price I feel comfortable with.

Think this will be part of the spend 50$ get 10$ deal - might be worth checking to ensure you get that discount!

Pretty sure it will be, last time they did this, Moshuu I believe mentioned that they'll round up anyone who bought stuff that totaled close to $50, $100, etc., so 49.xx will be rounded up and you should get a $10 back come November.

I went to Gamestop to pick it up and the girl goes "Oh, you're the ONE who preordered this?"

I wanted to cry, this is one of my favorite series and no one plays it.

I wish I had known about the file transfer, I got it on PS3 this time around because I'm done with paying for Xbox and having it eat my discs. I planned on running through the story anyway, and I could use the refresher course.

Part of that's on FromSoftware. I certainly am not planing on picking this up after playing 5.

I'd like to vote with my dollars and tell FROM that I wasn't too into V, but like I said, its nothing short of a miracle these games still get localized so I'd rather tough it out and buy a couple of games I'm not crazy about and hopefully help to ensure this series' future in the West.

What? You can get pretty much any AC for like $10-$20.

A brand new copy of For Answer runs you 117 dollars average on ebay last I checked. Second hand copies hover around 30. As much as I want a disc version of this, I think imma just pick it up on PSN with all this PSN credit I have.

man..this game is whooping my backside..then i got the sniper cannon and everything was okay..until it started kicking my backside again -__-

I need to get back into the groove, gattling guns are not murdering everything like they used to :O

Did they fix the frame rate? ACV turned me off with that nonsense.

Oddly enough i had a weird stuttering on the first tutorial level..i think it was because i imported my ultra weapon mech into the game, but once i took off the ultimate weapon, its been relatively smooth so far..

I just picked my copy up from gamestop, seems like any store but them in my area doesn't have stock yet. I'm Jrs3000 on 360 if you want to play or join up in a crew.

Well I suppose it is improved in most areas. The stages are a bit barren compared to ACV(aside from random explosions, artillery fire, and flying helis/bombers in the distance). The best looking areas in the game are actually the DLC workshops.

I was fine with the environments, it was just a mess with the UI going berserk every time something poked you, and that with the framerate tanking whenever people hit you made it difficult to do anything when under fire. It was fine when nothing was happening though. :/

You've must have had ps3 version. 360 didn't really have this issue.

Picked it up today, only copy my GS had. I found out about it on Sunday and found out that you'd be able to import save data from V. So I did a couple of missions thinking I'd be able to use that cash later...only to find out that you can bring parts over...NO CASH. Going back to 5 to buy crap to bring over with me. Incidentally, did this game come with a manual? I didn't get one.

Well that just sucks monkey dong. You'd think From would know how to make it for what is essentially their home system.

True. It seems like this gen it was built off x360 first then ported to ps3 along with the typical port issues. Hopefully someone who has Verdict Day on ps3 will chime in if they improved fps over V.

Thank's for the info. I think I bought all the parts I cared for in V then traded the game in. Does the parts you bring over retain the name and upgraded status? No manual but there should be a in game tutorial like the first.

Ah, I thought we were just speaking generally. Sure, factory sealed is pretty rare, but I see used copies all over and I can usually find damn near perfect copies of most games online.

Framerate seems a bit better on PS3, I haven't had any significant slowdown yet. I'm comparing it to V on 360 though, and it's been a while since I played that. There is this weird thing that I don't remember from V, correct me if I'm wrong, but they blur the edges of the screen and it's hella throwing me off.
The parts you import don't keep their upgrades according to the game.

does this not have a sexy mecha porn cg intro like the other games? :(
No, I wish.

THAT is lame to no end, and you can't upgrade them either..may as well start from scratch for the most part -__-

No, I wish.

Yeah there was blur in V when moving really fast or Overboosting.

If it can, for the most part, maintain 30fps I'll deal with it, but dropping to 20 or below (or so it felt, the jerky UI probably didn't help) a lot really destroyed it for me.

I really liked having sniper duels, dancing alongside buildings. I also was amused creating my own counter to the then-overpowered stuff. Completely destroyed people with it lol. I kind of want to get it, but probably too soon to play it again. I hope they can fix the online stuff and campaign this time.

I also never see anyone talk about the game's music. I really like it. Especially that garage theme. Wonderful.

I am noticing the music a lot more since a poster in this thread mentioned it, most of it is from their in house band, "Frequency"

is that one song they did for the story trailer "day after day" anywhere in the game itself? it's pretty damn good.

yeah this game is great. i haven't played V but the framerate seems pretty solid so far on ps3. coming from 4answer, the 3 second load times in this game seem pretty miraculous!

Evergreen is the type of track that would keep me from buying a soundtrack..
which one is that? nothing i've heard so far could be considered offensive.

what am i supposed to do with all these junk parts i no longer need. it won't let me sell them and they're just crowding my list.

Grabbed this on the way home, looking forward to getting back into Armored Core. Any tips for someone who hasn't play one for more than 10 minutes in close to a decade?

I forgot about the weird quick-turning in this game, that's one major thing I really wish they would have fixed. Holding left or right and QBing is so much more practical than this drifting thing they have going on.

Also, has anyone else been disconnecting (just from the game servers, not PSN/XBL) and getting stuck watching the menu start up cycle over and over again until you dashboard? It's happened to me like three times.

So far, I'm liking it a lot more than I liked V initially.
Me too. The changes they made helped a lot, but I feel like V lowered the bar for me. It's still better than V, but if I was running into this right after 4A I'd still probably be pretty put off.

Get acquainted with movement, you'll be at a disadvantage until you master how to move comfortably through a stage..scanning and recon is your friend, they will make enemies visible through obstacles..and weapon types, carry a variety, enemies have lite elemntal weaknesses, the rest will come back to you with time!

I tried to go back and wipe out my save and reimport my data (after buying a bunch of stuff) but apparently my data is now on the server and there's no way to wipe it out. I guess it's ok since I don't get my weapons aren't upgraded. Seems like a waste.

Thanks! Shame the game comes with no paper what so ever, I miss manuals :/ Should have put that 50 towards the PSN version, lol. Oh well!
