Athlon 3500 and 3800, big difference in game performance?

I'm going to be ordering my cpu this week. Either the 3500 or 3800. I'm not concerned about benchmarks or anything like that, but actual in game performance. I assumed the extra $300 for the 3800 would give me a much better in game performance and longer life before I had to upgrade. But, someone told me this...

I don't think you will notice a big difference between the two in game
play maybe a 1 frame difference or less. The $300.00 price difference
for an extra 200MHz is not worth it IMO because the extra 200 MHz
is only good for benchies. Now if it were something like 400-600 MHz
extra then it would make a difference in gaming and be worth it.

If that's the case I could put the $300 to something useful...

Yes, its just for games. I'm gettinga 6800 GT anyway. But if theres going to be little to no difference now or down the line, its not worth the $300...right?

They are both the dual channel S939 processors i cant see why you would get a 3800 over a 3500 if you are concerned about price. Just get a good board and you should have an excellent upgrade path :D
