Yeah listen to fart ask him to go to head-fi.org, but tell him not to take thier word as gospel, they get a bit over-enthusiasctic(sp?).

Also tell him to listen to the headphones he wishes to buy, for comfort, sound etc.

You could probably get a pair of Sennheiser HD-580s for $150 if you looked hard enough. I paid a shade more than that like 4 years ago for mine. They're a great set of cans.

I'll the mention of anything Sennheiser. Can't go wrong there. My HD-497s were only around $80, but they sound great. I'm sure the 580's sound even better.
