Times like this when console gaming is appealing haha

Yeah but when the PC version will look better, play better and overall be better, I can say that waiting til tomorrow isn't that big of a deal.

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.
I'm in Australia, it's unlocked and I got a copy from the store too. :D

the load times are pretty bad, even though there is a 4.6 ish GB install, it still takes about a minute to load the next area, or when you restart after dying.

Greenmangaming.com still have DNF steam keys for $36 for those interested. It beats us Aussies paying $75 anyhow.

Heh...despite the shit dumped on the demo, it's the top selling game on Steam right know. I guess people, like me, don't give a shit and getting the game regardless.

Every new big release on Steam hits "Top Selling", that's not exactly special.

i won't have it until Tuesday... but to think people are playing DNF, that they bought legally in a store...

what a wonderful thing to be real.

Damn dude, you really have an agenda against this game. Chill out, everything is going to be OK.

I think you've dismissed this game enough in this thread.

I wasn't even saying anything negative about the game there, just correcting the guy - Wipe your eyes :)

Agreed, you weren't saying anything negative there -- but you've said enough already.

I don't have any strange ideas that I'll have as much fun with DNF as I did with DN3D back in the day but I still can't wait to give it a try.

My best memories of DN3D were modem matches with friends where I would shoot the lights out in the porno store and camp on top of the shelves filling the floor up with pipe bombs.

Unfortunately 360 version struggles to maintain 30fps and at times drops low enough to affect your aiming accuracy (Anyone remember Quake4 on 360?), It also has screen tearing, lacks FSAA and load times are pretty long, Anytime you die it has to reload (about 45 seconds).

Other than this the game is decent fun, It's not as bad as the Demo made it out to be.

The game is broken for me (PC). It decides to lose all keyboard input at the start of the second level. I cna't move anywhere or access menus and the only option I have is alt-f4. I've tried restarting the level, changing to window mode, and various other menu options to no luck, and disabling in-game steam with no luck.

Now what.

You have the shareware version. Mail US$60 to George Broussard to access the full game

Not sure whether to get this on the triple or the 360. Any talk on how both run?
Based on what I've played of the demos and what I've watched in the live streams, the PS3 version almost appears to be better. Both are terrible ports, if you ask me, as they both have significant framerate issues and very lengthy loading times. However, the PS3 version seems to use v-sync so there is at least no tearing while the 360 version is full of it. Other than that it is confirmed that they both run at the same sub-HD resolution and everything else appears to be the same. So, the PS3 version is the cream of the crap.

It's a damn shame the console versions turned out so badly. Honestly, it seems even WORSE than the 360 Quake 4 port available at launch. At least THAT game ran at 1280x720 with AA. Duke runs just as poorly (and has tearing on 360) while displaying inferior visuals. Bad bad bad.

PC version for me.

I wonder if the full game is better than the demo. I beat this in 20 minutes which means if each level takes the same amount of time thats roughly 7 hours of game. My friend beat it in 10 minutes which would be like 3.5 hours.

For a game everyone's been waiting 14 years for, and for such a unimpressive and bland demo, I'm not exactly hyped up for this.

Did you think the demo part is one entire level in the full game?

The thing is, it's two levels from the full game. And there's nothing that says each level will be the exact same length to complete.

Got a text message today that I could pick up Duke Nukem Forever tomorrow at my local GameStop. I had to read that mesage several times to allow my brain to understand what it really said. Duke Nukem Forever. Tomorrow. For real. Weird.

This is a game that I want to actually hold in my hand. Sorry, Steam, but I need some physical evidence of this game. It will arrive on my doorstep June 14 - thanks, Amazon!

oh and PC version of course. It's a FPS. It's Duke. IT MUST BE PC VERSION.
