I would like to report that I am no longer the highest bidder. I shall raise my bid tonight, however I have already set a persona limit, one which I will NOT post in the thread for obvious reasons. Should I be unable to continue, I shall post so in this threads, in the hopes that someone else will get it. GAF just HAS to know!

You're the seller aren't you?

This is some brilliant marketing. I predict copycat auctions...

In fact, I wish I had thought of it. Take shit game for console X and remove all the labels...it's like the old "grab bag" idea for sports cards...pay $0.50 in the vending machine and hope you get something decent. It's almost always shit but it is fun to "gamble." :)

No, I am not. I was a bidder, but got outbid. I am either HUELEN10 or huelen10 on eBay. I would never pull that kind of bullshit on GAF (or anywhere else mind you), only a fool would.

FOUND THE CLUE!!!

Did anyone manage to see what the buy-it-now price was?
It was 1999, but he also said that any and all clues may or may not be red herrings, so it could be ANYTHING!

Why For?

So how many N64 games are worth paying $50 for?

And OF those, would they still be worth $50 without the box or even the fucking LABEL?:lol

List stuff.

You really believe he's gonna let go his copy of RE 2, Harvest moon 64 and Ogre Battle 64 for 20$. It's probably something terrible and he took out the labels by himself to create a 'thrill' in hope of selling it.

Hope it's really one of those horrible sports games like QB Club 2000, those SSB clues are just there to throw you off. :lol

Oh don't get me wrong; if I win this, I'm fully expecting to have paid a bunch of money for Superman 64 or Monopoly or some shit. I'm just hoping this guy doesn't totally suck and it's something good like Beetle Adventure Racing. :lol

I'm guessing you linked to Go Nintendo. And yes, that's why I stopped visiting that blog. Useless random shit nobody cares about.

I liked QBC (well, 98 and 99, dunno about 2000). :(

Gaffer needs to win. and I need to know what this is. I would bid, but it is a NSTC cart :(

My Guess:

Silicon_Valley_Artwork.jpg

I can't remember if I have played it before. Is this the game where you are the little micro chip that can hop into certain animals and use their abilities?

Yes!

It's also known as the "game that's impossible to finish legitimately because one of the necessary items for unlocking the final level has no collision detection on it" game.

a Gaffer has to get this because I am absolutely DYING to know what it is!!

I'm pretty sure I played that game. I can't say for certain, but I think it was a fighting game. But I played an awful lot of awful fighting games on the N64, so I don't really know.

I think it was the last game that was released as developed by DMA design before they switched to Rockstar, and was made between GTA and GTA2. Which blew my mind for about a month when I found out about that later.

If it was superman 64 that'd be epic.

Side note: I still have a sealed copy of Super Mario 64 at home. Does anyone know how much it's worth at the moment?

What if the 1999 thing is a red herring? Wouldn't that mean we have no idea what the game is?
It's possible, but I doubt it for multiple reasons:
1) It was hidden on the page.
2) It's not that helpful a hint, unlike the internet memes and No More Heroes quote.
3) Why advertise a hint when you're not actually giving a hint?

Also, I am still the highest bidder. Go me!
