My guess is that the jerry24214 was just a dummy account set up buy somebody who never intended to pay who wanted to leave negative feedback for fun.

Yeah, it's a good rule to have to not allow anyone with 5 or below bid on your auction. That way if they do bid last second and ruin your auction, you can have ebay get rid of the negative since they didn't follow the rules of the auction.

I do this all the time and never have a problem. Zero feedback users can do buy it nows with instant payment to build their rep.
