Hold up, time of day IS dynamic? On all tracks?
Nice to hear weather is dynamic and random, seemed to be speculation at e3 it would transition in exactly the same way every time
alternate times of day

"Those dynamic conditions extend to time of day too."
If they ARE dynamic, certainly they'll provide alternate times of day. With how they talk about the tech behind fh3 I'm pretty sure they are saying it is dynamic.
yeah, i read that, but as usual they're wording things in ways one can never be sure.
I think their use of dynamic here only refers to clouds rolling in etc. Dynamic as in..not a static skydome.png, but an 'animated' one.
I don't think we're getting dynamic ToD, especially since that would have to mean dynamic shadows from the elements in the scenery, which would mean pretty huge changes to their engine and the way all their tracks are lit.
Plus, you're only getting 3 laps races anyway
Also, if you're going to announce proper day/night cycles, do that with timelapse vids, not jpgs
Bill Giese, Creative Director at Turn 10, explained in an interview with Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) UK (September 2017, issue #154) that Forza Motorsport 7 will feature dynamic image-based lighting (like in Playgrounds Forza Horizon 3) on all platforms as well as dynamic HDR skies (again, like in Forza Horizon 3) on Xbox One S and Xbox One X

Their lighting model has been updated to the same dynamic image-based one in FH3 and we already know there is a dynamic cloud system, that has sky shadows that obviously can't be pre-baked environment shadows. So dynamic shadows are within reality they will probably update at 30fps though, but probably not as bad as FH3 as they are not rendering an open world or a rainforest all with dynamic shadows.
It doesn't sound like it. The title for a start...Bringing Time of Day to Life...and then none of the text references a night scene. No day/night cycle ?
But that still doesn't mean Dynamic global illumination and having shadows cast from each element of the scenery move and stretch is a completely different thing from what mainline Forza games have been doing.
Yep, they are both in. Yas Marina is the circuit there and Dubai is the fantasy track.
Very happy about Suzuka, dreams dashed about no Fujimi Kaido, though.
Can someone explain what's good about that cube Thing ? How will we notice this
Ah I think this bothered me always in forza 5, I had the feeling the car is just there and something didnt look right. Sounds great, really looking forward to comparisons. Thanks youOkay so basically with a static cube map the environments not reflected dynamically on an object and stays static, this can make an object or in this case a car not look like its part of the environment or not represent it accurately. With dynamic cube maps an environment can be frequently updated to show a dynamic environment on an object therefore making the car look like it's part of the environment or more accurately a part of the environment.
It's nice to have the dynamic weather and time of day, but I think it'd still prefer a different selection if tracks instead. It's just getting rather tired now.
How about bringing back the Rally di Positano track from forza 3.
I'm just getting really bored of them repeating the same stuff and adding a few new tracks and cars. Stop re hashing stuff. There are loads of great cars and circuits out there, explore them.
Maple Valley, yesss, so many hours back in the day on this track on Forza 2
Did you ask them to bring back an old track you liked but then also say they should stop doing that within the same post? I agree new tracks are best.
Yes it does read that way, mainly because I altered my reply somewhat before posting and didn't check it. I had included a comment about Maple Valley and I was surprised it appeared popular, at least in this thread.
Also if they're going to keep re using circuits from previous games, mix it up a little, or take a poll on what fans want. Do people actually like Yas Marina circuit?
Probably a dumb question, but, I feel like in the wake of GT Sport, I need to ask:
Will this have a single player campaign like the last Forza Motorsport games? Sad that I feel a need to confirm it, but, I've given up on GTS and am looking for FM to scratch that itch this holiday.
GAF, the X ver of FM7 will get patched on Nov. 7th or there's a separate sku special ed bundled that will see a release ? Just double checking if i should wait or grab for X1..thx.
We want players to see, hear and feel the explosive power of motorsport. For all 700 cars the instrumentation clusters are going to rattle, windshield wipers and mirrors vibrate its that feeling of the car at its peak. Weve overhauled the audio for our driveline flex, so you can hear the car tearing itself apart. It can be scary, but it feels more alive and grounded than before.
It's a bummer but it would be surprising to see a racing fan ignore this game just because it's on Windows Store, I just can't see a significant amount of people doing that, this is pretty much like having Gran Turismo on PC, it's a _seriously_ big deal.To be honest even I am thinking this game is breaking GT apart. Their car selection is so much better it is not even funny.
If only Microsoft would get off their shit stool and put this on Steam. For the love of god how much money are they leaving off the table here IDK.
Dubai is the only new track though. disappointing even with some returning from previous games.
Do people really love weather? I hate the puddles in Forza 6 and they just make for a bigger shit show online. You don't have to pit for wet tires or anything either.
Side note: I don't get why they didn't synchronize the Xbox One X launch with the Forza 7 launch. It's such a dumb move PR wide to let people get used to seeing this on XB1 and PC for over a month before trying to hype XBX with it in november. XBX is turning into the perfect definition of late to the party.
With crackdown getting pushed into next year I could see forza getting delayed unless November is swamped with releases. An extra month for some needed polish would be ideal.
A delay would probably render lots of unwanted negativity. I don't know how they could fix this without some people getting angered. Maybe move the XBX launch to the Forza launch instead? With crackdown getting pushed into next year I could see forza getting delayed unless November is swamped with releases. From what I gather, if you own the game on Xbox One/S you get the standard. If you own the game on Xbox One X it will download the Xbox One X patch to take advantage of all the extra stuff. There will not be a separate sku of ANY game...every Xbox One game will be the same and if there is a special enhancement for the Xbox One X it will be downloaded to your system.
I want endurance races damnit
