Holy fuck, Red dead Redemption 2 is an incredible game

Gay porn is where it's at.
Man, the fact that this game even exist is mind boggling., This is the best open world ever made, and might just be the best written game ever.
I'm not even past chapter 2 btw, but the characters feel so fucking real, it's like they're really real. Arthur is such an amazing protagonist so far
One thing I'm wondering is how the hell did rockstar not make an 60fps patch for the current gen consoles? The game looks downright incredible but the 30fps cap is definitely an issue

They will sell you a re-release at 60FPS for PS6, don't you worry. And yeah, game feels amazing on PC with higher frame rate. Definitely a game changer, even more so than in other 3rd person action games.

I adored RDR2, and honestly after RDR1 I didn't know how it would stack up. Still had some outstanding moments, great writing, music, and characters. It was a great package for sure. My only issue was that there was one part of the campaign that kind of slowed down big time for me, so it felt kind of like a slog to get through. Fortunately right after getting through that it picked back up and didn't stop. Didn't change how I felt about it in the end though, one of the all times IMO, just like RDR1.

The game is very slow in the beginning, some animations are exaggerated and make even the simplest task take a lot of time, especially if played in 30 FPS.
It’s a good game though .

Gotta love riding a garbage horse that has all the control of a wheelchair on ice. If there was a glue factory in that world i would have dropped it off right at the beginning. Got tired of wrestling with the stupid controls it made playing a chore to the point i eventually dropped it.

The horses controlled great. They were all different depending on the size and breed.

You want fast and turn on a dime, then get the Arabian in the beginning like most people did.

I prefer the Foxtrotter, however. Less skittish and still fast and controls great. Larger stature as well.

I swear mine was drunk it used to swerve all over the damn place to the point it actually fucked up some of the missions. Looks like i got the wish.com starting horse.

The starting horse was not that good, no. Hence the better horses for the scenarios.

Its the most predictable story ever made. Doubly so with rdr1 starting where it left. Open world is great but not the best. Play some good games guy.

I mean it’s a prequel, there’s only so much they can do with the story.

The open world is amazing. Game just needed to be a bit shorter. Same situation as Days Gone.

The story gets super convoluted and nowhere near as good as in the first game. Same goes with the protagonist, could they have picked a guy with less personality?

Also, too bad they removed the humour and added quite a bit of wokeness that feels really out of place in that era.

I had way worse luck with horses running into trees and accidentally off cliffs in RDR1. They felt alot looser to me regardless of breed.
What you have to do as well in RDR2 when in a forest at full speed (not used to controlling a horse as a noob), is take your hands off the control stick unless you need to actually move the horse for something. The horse will not run into trees or trip on objects if left to their own awareness. It's only when you try to control the horse and you accidently force it to smack a tree or trip on a rock or log, lol.

Once you have the horses down, then full control with minimal errors can be achieved, with a random user error here and there, lol.

Doing that as well as knowing when to tap R1 is the key 😎

Spoken like someone who hasnt played the game. No way anyone legit has this opinion after finishing the game. Even if you dont like the game, the characters are absolute top notch.

Agreed, Arthur Morgan is one of the best protags in gaming, ever. Especially with the personality variations of playing outlaw or honorable and how the world and camp members react to you.

yup. in-mission it was incredible, but all of the "downtime" / in between stuff felt like such a chore

It is but they should get the death penalty for no 60fps ps5 patch or even a next Gen remaster sold for a commercially viable upgrade price like with GTA V.

Unless they fixed it from first release, this game had one of the worst HDR implementations i ever dealt with. No matter what i did it was always bright and super washed out, and it was the only game on my tv (at the time ) that had this issue.

The journey you go through as Arthur is just *chef's kiss*. Of course you wouldn't know if you rush the game and don't pay attention to conversation. You can literally set Arthur down a path of redemption or further down into the abyss.

4 years on and no other character has come close, for me.
