Fanboys will cut off their nose to spider face, so long as they get some sort of "win". You are right, it is truly pathetic.i do agree. thought it was obvious i meant the "hardcore" gaming community. it's pathetic that anyone would want to see less competition just so their favourite billion $ company could make more money.
It would be for only exclusive games. Not third party. It’s absolutely a storefront. You stream a game from Gamepass instead of getting it from PSN. You’d then buy all DLCs through Gamepass instead of PSN and Microsoft gets a cut of that purchase instead of Sony.
This makes no financial sense.
Duh?I think Microsoft does want gamepass on there and the only thing that’s stopping them is Sony. Microsoft has said that they want there games on every platform. Sony is playing hard to get because they don’t want a Microsoft service on their console.
Yes that’s the only way I could see it.
Make an executable that can run on PlayStation and sell it through the PSN store then. Gamepass is a radically different conversation and a nonstarter. It would be for only exclusive games. Not third party.
Honestly I think that is the end goal. They got to start on their hardware first then eventually branch out. They can’t sustain the gamepass model on just their own hardware. Especially at the price that it is.When they leave the console hardware biz and only then.
Aside from Phil’s email saying they want xCloud on PS and Nintendo we don’t know anything about this.I think Microsoft does want gamepass on there and the only thing that’s stopping them is Sony. Microsoft has said that they want there games on every platform. Sony is playing hard to get because they don’t want a Microsoft service on their console.
It goes both ways. Microsoft refused Sony Playstation + on Xbox consoles. Sony said that themselves to the CMA a few months ago I thinkI think Microsoft does want gamepass on there and the only thing that’s stopping them is Sony. Microsoft has said that they want there games on every platform. Sony is playing hard to get because they don’t want a Microsoft service on their console.
They don’t want to be in the hardware business they want to be a full fledge service at the end of the day just like how microsoft office is.It goes both ways. Microsoft refused Sony Playstation + on Xbox consoles. Sony said that themselves to the CMA a few months ago I think
MS has approached Sony on a number of occasions about this but Sony always said noMicrosoft has already attempted to put GP on PS and Sony refused.
This came out during Microsoft submission to regulators.
Stop having console bias. Sony is being anti-gamer if Microsoft is willing to put their exclusive games on the platform with a service. And not giving us the option to play them.Sony isn't some desparate company to even going on a deal to Microsoft. And they have their own subscription, why the heck they would trash their own for GP? Like, this would be incredibly stupid. Absurdly stupid OP.
MS has approached Sony on a number of occasions about this but Sony always said no
If this deal goes through Microsoft will continuing buying up what’s left of the gaming industry. I think this deal is making them switch gears to go more the service route. They will no longer be competing with Sony.
Because they are concurrents. Why would Sony allow Microsoft to do this when Microsoft does not allow Sony service in their consoles?Stop having console bias. Sony is being anti-gamer if Microsoft is willing to put their exclusive games on the platform with a service. And not giving us the option to play them.
I don’t see how this would affect Sony. They would still have their own service for their exclusives and third party games.
Yeah. But they still have consoles now. When/if they stop producing Xbox consoles they will find it more easy to make that kind of deal with Sony. In the meantime unless they made a deal very enticing to Sony it will not happen. And this is logical: Sony worked hard to have the PS4 and PS5 sell as much as they have and continue to do. Normal for them to seek the benefits of those efforts. If Microsoft want to enter this submarket and find a new audience in Playstation players they have to make Sony happy. They don’t want to be in the hardware business they want to be a full fledge service at the end of the day just like how microsoft office is.
There’s no console bias here. You’re just proposing an astonishingly dumb idea trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.Stop having console bias. Sony is being anti-gamer if Microsoft is willing to put their exclusive games on the platform with a service. And not giving us the option to play them.

Stop having console bias. Sony is being anti-gamer
I think Microsoft is trying to set it up that way but they can’t sell a service if their competitors aren’t buying. So they have toBecause they are concurrents. Why would Sony allow Microsoft to do this when Microsoft does not allow Sony service in their consoles?

First of all I’m saying game pass for there exclusives I’m not saying for third party. Sony can still have their subscription service and make money.about this is meanless because neither of them care about you, only your money. They have their own subscription and so does Nintendo. Putting them aside for GP would be moronic, no matter how much you keep spamming this anti-consumer stuff.
There was a Microsoft head who tweeted that they will bring Xbox games like Call of Duty to Nintendo, Xbox games in general, not just Call of Duty. That the Call of Duty deal was just the official signed deal at the moment. It basically hinted that more stuff is coming over, but there is a possibility he said something wrong. You’re thinking of the Geforce deal, Nintendo’s was for just COD.
You seem to be under the impression that gamepass is needed to play Xbox games. That’s not the case. Microsoft can do what every other third party does on PlayStation. Make a PS version of the game and get it certified by Sony and sell it on PSN. No gamepass required.I think Microsoft is trying to set it up that way but they can’t sell a service if their competitors aren’t buying. So they have to
start on there own hardware.
First of all I’m saying game pass for there exclusives I’m not saying for third party. Sony can still have their subscription service and make money.
And even then, it wont be the gamepass we know today. Sony just allowed EA and Ubisoft, but disallowed day one releases. There is no Sony is going to allow MS to have Atomic Heart, Wu Long and other games on their service on day one. They want that 30% cut on the $70 game. Not a 30% cut on a $10 sub. When MS goes 3rd party.
I’m not taking about those games that doesn’t necessarily have to be the deal out in place. Just Bethesda, Activision, Tango, all Microsoft studio games and not third party. And even then, it wont be the gamepass we know today. We don’t know what the conversation was. Sony probably doesn’t want a Microsoft service period. It took them a long time to get behind the idea of allowing Ea and Ubisoft services on the platform.Nothing is stopping MS from putting their games on PS as a publisher and then doing an Xbox first party Gamepass just like Ubisoft and EA have their own subs
Nothing except that's not the version of Gamepass they want on other systems is it?
Too expensive for anyone to try buying.Unless Microsoft buy Sony, I doubt that will ever happen.
For Microsoft exclusives not third party.I wanna know what is the thought process of people who think this is even a possibility?
Like why would Sony allow a competing service cannibalized their direct third party sales of games, especially when they have their own subscription model witch precedes Game Pass.
Sony doesn’t allow ea premium or Ubisoft plus both of which are $15 subs that have Day one releases on PC.I’m not taking about those games that doesn’t necessarily have to be the deal out in place. Just Bethesda, Activision, Tango, all Microsoft studio games and not third party.
Which to me is anti-consumer. I think Microsoft is willing to settle for that but like I said before it’s Microsoft so Sony is playing hard to get.Sony doesn’t allow ea premium or Ubisoft plus both of which are $15 subs that have Day one releases on PC.
They have a watered down version of those services which is what ms will have to settle for.
Even if we humor a hypothetical situation which only includes Xbox first party, Sony is in the business of taking a 30% cut on new releases at full price. They aren’t going to accommodate Microsoft in their race to bottom to completely devalue games.I wanna know what is the thought process of people who think this is even a possibility?
Like why would Sony allow a competing service cannibalized their direct third party sales of games, especially when they have their own subscription model witch precedes Game Pass.
why is it anti-consumer? Sony spends billions on hardware. billions more on marketing. billions on first party games. all to cultivate an audience that they can then charge 30% for. Why should ubisoft sweep in and get access to that audience for a small $3 fee on a $10 sub?Which to me is anti-consumer. I think Microsoft is willing to settle for that but like I said before it’s Microsoft so Sony is playing hard to get.
