Oh oh oh oh oh oh.

95% sell though O.O unless I'm reading that wrong seems really impressive.

You are reading that correctly. How in the world did Scamco not get a second shipment in time? Jeeze.

I just want to ask about the MH Vita thing since the thread's locked:

Do we know what game it actually is, since the fact it shows Rathalos, either someone did a perfect copy of it, or they copied and pasted the model into whatever this is.

I love how it looks, whatever it is. It's a well-done fake/clone. I'd love to see a MH that looks like that.

Supposedly it's an MH Frontier clone developed by Chinese company Tencent.

Whatever for August.

Prediction League August, 2012

Predict how much these titles will sell in the 4 weeks (from July 30th to August 26th):

[WII] Dragon Quest X -
[3DS] New Super Mario Bros. 2 -
[3DS] Demon Training -

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Special attention to NSMB2 and DT: the period does not include their "first week", it's only how much they'll sell in the month, not the LTD.

Rules:
  • The official monthly sales will be addition of the weekly sales available from the Famitsu Top 30.
  • Any game missing in the Famitsu top 30 will be taken out of the predictions.
  • Any game missing in your prediction will be considered as if you had predicted zero for its sales.
Deadline: August, 1st 09:00 am (EDT) (2 hours earlier than the usual, since now both Famitsu and MC release numbers earlier)

NSMB DS sold 930k in the same period. NSMB Wii sold 1.8m, but it was December.

Remember it does not include the first week, which is now happening, for NSMB2.

Are we including DL numbers or just Famitsu?

[WII] Dragon Quest X - 330,000
[3DS] New Super Mario Bros. 2 - 800,000
[3DS] Demon Training - 160,000

(assuming we're including DL numbers)

Maybe a sequel to Hunter Blade?

That looked way too good to be Hunter Blade. In the closed thread apparently the Chinese blogs were saying it was a new clone in development at Tencent.

I see. Yeah, I just went back and looked and it looks really impressive visually.

The English isn't very good, but one of the blogs may have said it's even an official MH game? I'm not sure. Apparently Tencent did release Frontier at one point but Monster Hunter OL sounds very unfranchise-like in naming scheme.

I actually just came back here to ask about that for a variety of reasons:

1.) For about 3+ years now, Capcom has been saying that they really want to get into the Chinese PC gaming market.
2.) Tencent is a huge Chinese company with strong game development skills, and would be a pretty ideal partner.
3.) People keep telling me that Monster Hunter 3 did really well in Germany, which is a huge PC country. Given that Tencent also has a really strong Western presence with games like League of Legends, a Monster Hunter MMO by Tencent would allow Capcom to push the series in both China and their most successful countries in the West. It would also put the series on a platform that does very well in countries the series doesn't do so hot in like the U.S.

I mean, it certainly could be an unofficial clone, but some of those things look so much like actual Monster Hunter and the fact that it fits with Capcom's business objectives that I'm starting to wonder.

Edit:

This other gibberish translation also implies the the game may feature some of the original monsters, which makes it sound again like it is (was?) a licensed product: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=40338149&postcount=205

A game on PSP that exceeds retailers' expectations is the exception not the rule lately. You can't blame them or BN this time when they usually stay with unsold stock.

The numbers are from the Famitsu top 30. Whatever it's there.

It might include sales of the cards with the codes to download the game, but it's extremely unlikely it'll include sales of the units bought directly from Nintendo's eShop.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

It'll pass it within a month easily.
It could happen, but i wonder why the predictions so far a really low comapred to this. Super Mario 3D Land is at over 1.5 million copies now. The highest prediction so far is somewhat over 800k.

Is this Price is Right rules? Closest without going over? If so I bet 1 for each title.
It is about how close you get to the actual sales number. It doesnt matter if it is i.e 10k over or 10k under, you're still 10k away from the right "answer" in that case.

Isn't that because the predictions won't include first week sales as they will be this month?

Will retail download cards be counted in the usual game sales? I'm assuming they will.
And are there price differences between the tickets and boxed games?
