Media Create Sales: Week 46, 2012 (Nov 12 - Nov 18)

Galactic Fork

A little fluff between the ears never did any harm...
But no Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game has sold over 1 million:

[GBA] Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team (Pokemon Co.) {2005.11.17} - 112,898 / 718,129
[NDS] Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team (Pokemon Co.) {2005.11.17} - 123,556 / 743,990
[NDS] Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time (Pokemon Co.) {2007.09.13} - 300,295 / 804,118
[NDS] Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness (Pokemon Co.) {2007.09.13} - 268,593 / 709,844
[NDS] Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (Pokemon Co.) {2009.04.18} - 141,771 / 414,000

=P

Like the main line, they are released 2 colors at a time. See the dates. People usually count them together. Time and Darkness came out together, with Sky coming out alone a bit later (like the 3rd colors in the main line games).

There are really only two games in that list. Red Rescue Team/ Blue Rescue Team, and Explorers of Time/Explorers of Darkness/Explorers of Sky. This is like trying to separate out the sales of individual mainline titles.

I think he said that in a jokey manner.

Thats a given, saleswise at least. Whatever WiiU does lifetime, it will still be dwarfed by the 3DS.
Isn't that pretty much a given? I'd imagine it's going to be just like ds with the wii. The wii performs well for a while or even impressive at times, but the ds always sold so well consistently and is just way more popular in Japan. The wii drops more easily and doesn't stay consistent. I'm really happy the 3DS is following similar patterns in Japan, if things keep up and we see it perform better in western regions, then we'll at least still have a safe haven for Japanese games and RPGs.
You guys are right, I was talking more about the launch, a lot of people are still buying a 3DS, which is way cheaper and with a way better catalogue of games (but that was obvious since it's already out for more than a year). I mean, who is buying the 3DS right now is probably not going to buy the WIIU this year. But then I searched for the DSL numbers before the WII launch...

DSL 148,174
PS3 81,639
PSP 19,123
PS2 16,157
Xbox360 3,864
GBASP 1,320
GBM 1,213
GC 496
DS 279
GBA 12
Xbox 3

DSL 128,621
PS3 42,099
PSP 16,690
PS2 15,068
Xbox360 4,050
GBASP 1,199
GBM 1,037
GC 514
DS 182
GBA 30
Xbox 6

DSL 131,431
PS3 32,045
PS2 16,543
PSP 13,698
Xbox360 12,480
GBASP 1,034
GBM 1,004
GC 489
DS 224
GBA 30
Xbox 7

and reading the threads they seem very similar to the ones that we have right now, maybe everything will really happen again exactly like 6 years ago, who knows.

Huh. Didn't catch the smiley.

That's the problem with being sarcastic in Sales-Age; with some of the daft things that have been said in earnest over the years, you're quite likely to be taken seriously!

3DS being its beastly self coupled with the launch of the wii-u..

looking at nintendo owning 90% of weekly hardware sales. crazy.

Looking back, I'm actually surprised that the first Mystery Dungeon on DS ended up surpassing the sales of the GBA version. I suppose the holiday helped it back then with the GBA hardware floundering, but I think back then I was convinced the GBA version would end up on top considering the userbases at the time.

Either way, I'm pretty shocked these games sell as well as they do, they just are not very fun. But I'd say this one is probably locked in for around 1-1.2 million combined.
