It isn't. 4.5 million and if you're invested properly, you can likely live off of high 5, low 6 figures from passive dividends and can retire.

That's not surprising coming from them. Era said a few months ago that FFVII remake was jarring and fake because people in the slums were clean, using clean clothes and happy. They really believed poor people should be dirty, using dirty and ripped clothes while sulking and being unhappy all the time.

I honestly don't think there's money in them being hands on with forum moderation. Owning a bunch of forums for gaming allows them to have a large "userbase" they can then shop directly to people like game publishers, or stores and the like, who would do direct marketing deals worth more than just trying to get money directly from Google ads.

I think EviLore started doing some of that at some point.. entirety of NeoGAF would have ads for one game for a week, that sort of thing.

If there are changes, that's probably where they'll happen.. more ads, different types of ads, more monetization of clicks, that sort of thing.

It takes too many people too much time to actually pay people to meddle w/ forums and the people in them... nobody is actively monitoring Twitter for instance.. it's all just faceless contractors looking at some screen where reported posts are ordered by the severity some algorithm has figured out, and AI based auto-detection of shit like child porn.

It's not entirely wrong and actually isn't a lot of money these days with the costs of leasing commercial property, getting insured, etc. Middle class owned small businesses get their footing and still tend to struggle while pushing a few million around each year.
