Xbox One alone obviously wont, but X1 + Scorpio and whatever will be next have a chance to do this.
Dafuq, you might as well add in PS2 and PS3 numbers into the PS4 total sales bruh LOL

With the kind of lineup it's having for next year, very unlikely...xbox one will easily reach 50m lifetime sales.
likely 100m+ with the generationless approach

I don't even have Xbox, so no, i don't.LOL
Are you the person that writes the MS PR statements?

I'm not the first one who said this, even on previous page, but people still quoting only my post for some reasons. Guys, this is just my thought, and i didn't even said that it WILL definitely reach 100+ million copies sold, but there is always a chance that Microsoft will somehow turn things around, just like Sony did with PS3.thanks man, we all needed this.
Technically speaking hanspampel started the chainthanks man, we all needed this.

Xbox Family to have infinite sales brought to you by Xbox one and beyond! Come on let's be real here lol
Even strong brands can be damaged, PSN hack in 2011 damaged brand reputation, Xbox reveal damaged brand reputation, Palmer Lucky scandal damaged Oculus Rift reputation. We can't predict what will happen in the future, maybe Sony will go crazy and do something really wrong like streaming only console, Microsoft will release Win 11 with amazing store and suddenly start to care about non US/UK market, or Nintendo will burn both Sony and Microsoft with 200+ millions Switch sales in 2 years. Shit happens, so I'm not going to predict 100% what will happen next, strong this brand or not. Remember about "the age of Sony is done", for example.Man, how many times will people keep saying this without understanding that Xbox isn't a strong global brand?

XBox Play Anywhere, means that XBox Family is now over 400M this generation! Behold the power of the Windows 10 App Store! Take that Playstation family.
People need to understand that the PS4 pro is just a PS4. Nothing more, nothing less. The Scorpio is not XBO. It's a new gen for Microsoft and they will ditch the XBO once the Scorpio drops. It's Microsoft we are talking about here. People who are stating or believing otherwise don't seem to understand what they have been doing all the years they have been in the console business
I just wanted to say you're my new favorite.xbox one will easily reach 50m lifetime sales.

xbox one sold 1 million
ps4 family sold 1.1 million
ps vr 68k
according to a windowscentral source

An my point that even strong brands can be burned by bad marketing. You're kind of missing the point that Xbox is not a strong global brand.
Exactly. Difference between X1 and Scorpio is indeed huge, but Microsoft still pushes them as same console, so they will do the same in NPD.The fact it is reported that Scorpio and xbone will run the same games just as ps4 and pro do. Or haven't you heard?
What Phil Spencer said was pretty clear. Xbox One won't get left out, Scorpio doesn't get Scorpio only games (besides the VR shizzle where nothing at all is clear an we don't even know how it works and which headset will be uesed). That is all that we know currently.
So Scorpio is just a better XBO like the Ps4 Pro.
That is just you interpretation. And you can't back it up with official statements.
Nothing is known about Scorpio right now. Besides the 6TF claim/goal and some rumours/assumptions about 12 GB Ram according to a rendermovie. What will be the price? Which CPU is gonna be used? The console is 1 year away! How can you claim that this is a new start while MS officials say differently?
You could be eventually right - but right now there are no infos about this - that is just your interpretation. People just don't understand ... well. Those people don't have the insight you have, right? According to MS Scorpio will be a XBO. I'd trust them more than your analysis.
How so? Please do tell
Just for clarification that's what the windowscentral guy posted:
B: I started digging for hard information at the start of the podcast, because I'm a professional. I have sources, and I was interested to know if Mooch was speaking the truth or it was some fake news/hyperbole/rumor that was being used to further some Xbox fanboy's agenda. Turns out it wasn't.
C: At the end of the podcast, I revealed that I did finally get the hard figures, and they were accurate. I invite Sony, Xbox, or anyone to come and refute them. I know 100% that these figures are accurate, and have since confirmed their validity with secondary sources.
there is always a chance that Microsoft will somehow turn things around, just like Sony did with PS3.
How so? Please do tellYou're wrong there.
You're still not getting it. The Xbox has never had a strong global brand. Only within North America and the UK. Maybe Germany once upon a time? Everywhere else? Forget it.An my point that even strong brands can be burned by bad marketing.
Well, no one knows for sure, but if what you are saying is that the Scorpio is the launch of a new generation and the Xbox One will be ditched, there is really no evidence of any software that is under development that would be ONLY on Scorpio. If MS to your belief is going to launch Scorpio as a new generation and XBO is dropped, then MS would need to have a line-up of Scorpio ONLY games ready for launch. I don't see that happening and I don't know of any games that are being made that are only for Scorpio.
Granted there are always surprises that we may not be aware of, but a typical new console has anywhere from 12-20 launch titles, I doubt that that many games are under wraps for a launch that is about 11 months or so away.
So what's the problem for MS to continue turning things around? It's not like they did everything they could to improve situation, and it's not like people will suddenly stop buying their console next year, just like people continue to buy regular PS4 after PS4 Pro released.I'm getting flashbacks of, "You can't judge the Vita before it's had its first holiday season," or "Super Mario 3D World will save the Wii U." It's been a whole three years, after numerous price drops, deals, models, major first- and third-party software releases, and we're not in the dark concerning the future - we have a good idea of what games are coming and what the Scorpio is. There's nothing even remotely suggesting a comeback is possible at this point in its cycle. It's too late to turn it around any more than Microsoft already has. The numbers you see now are already the result of Microsoft turning things around. The Xbox One would be selling a lot worse if Microsoft hadn't done a pretty decent job after the system's disastrous unveiling.
And I'm not talking only about Xbox brand, I'm talking about all brands in general. You're still not getting it. The Xbox has never had a strong global brand. Only within North America and the UK. Maybe Germany once upon a time? Everywhere else? Forget it.
Man, how many times will people keep saying this without understanding that Xbox isn't a strong global brand?
You said it yourself. 11 months away. Many titles can be spread over XBO and the Scorpio. Seeing MS has nothing in the pipline it could very well be something they are saving for the Scorpio. And there was no evidence the XB and X360 would be ditched that fast but they did
Fair point, but you miss the point that my interpitation is based on what MS have been doing in the past. Not only with Xbox, but also with their Windows platform. What Phil Spencer said was pretty clear. Xbox One won't get left out, Scorpio doesn't get Scorpio only games (besides the VR shizzle where nothing at all is clear an we don't even know how it works and which headset will be uesed). That is all that we know currently.

Last time I checked it was MS who said it's up to the developers how they bring out their games. Could be I missed something, but until MS proves me otherwise I will stick to what I believe MS will do. I base that on their past actionsYou still don't get it. There isn't going to be spread titles. If a title is coming out for "Xbox" it *has to* come out for both the One and Scorpio like it *has to* come out for PS4 and Pro (as far as we know, what you are saying has never been said by anyone at MS/Xbox)

And I'm not talking only about Xbox brand, I'm talking about all brands in general.
I am more annoyed that people think the PS3 had a turnaround.
They didn't, at least not significant enough that you can really point at it.
They came out of the gate in US/UK getting dominated by 360, and that continued the entire gen.
They came out of the gate in EU/JP dominating the 360, and that continued the entire gen.
There may be small changes here and there, but nothing that's anywhere close to a "turnaround".
Even strong brands can be damaged, PSN hack in 2011 damaged brand reputation, Xbox reveal damaged brand reputation, Palmer Lucky scandal damaged Oculus Rift reputation. Scorpio is not a new generation.
Scorpio is an Xbox One
Microsoft has said this several times on record
It is a better, more powerful implementation of the PS4 Pro concept, nothing more.
For it to be a new generation it would require exclusive games. The closest thing you will get to exclusive Scorpio games are Vive/Occulus titles (quite the monetary investment coupled with Scorpio) because OG Xbox One isn't speced high enough for those headsets and Microsoft didn't develop their own bespoke VR solution.
I do have an issue with the "better" qualifier you used there as it will come out a year after PS4 Pro. More powerful sure, but how is it better per se?
And MS has been truthfull all this yeas now has it? 😉... A bit strange to anounce a new console/upgrade more than a year away don't you think?Scorpio is not a new generation.

Scorpio is only a next generation Xbox according to persons not called Microsoft, if you get my driftFANBOIZ
It should have a UHD Blu Ray drive, for one. That is a net positive.
