During today's PlayStation Showcase, Sony revealed Phantom Blade 0, a third person action RPG headed to PlayStation 5.

Made by S-Game, Phantom Blade 0 features fast-paced, third-person sword-based combat. The game seems to rely heavily on a samurai theme, emphasizing combat and traversal in a dark and rainy-looking world.

In a PlayStation Blog post, S-Game Founder and CEO Soulframe Liang revealed that the game takes place in a semi-open world that is "bleak and punishing, a constant reminder to never let your guard down." He also described the game's style as "Kung-Fu Punk" and discussed the game's plot.
"In Phantom Blade Zero, you play as Soul, an elite assassin serving an elusive but powerful organization known simply as 'The Order,'" the post reads. "Soul is framed for the murder of The Order’s patriarch, gravely injured in the ensuing manhunt, and, though his life is saved by a mystic healer, the makeshift cure will only last for 66 days. Now, he must fight against powerful foes and inhuman monstrosities, all while seeking out the mastermind behind it all before his time runs out."

Liang also revealed that Phantom Blade 0 is based on Rainblood: Town of Death, their 2010 indie game that led to the development of the Phantom Blade franchise, which was only available in China. Liang called Phantom Blade 0 "the spiritual rebirth of the original Rainblood and the game we always wanted to make."

Phantom Blade 0 was not yet given a release date or window.

This game has a lot of cool factor. Could end up being a shallow experience though, assuming it ever releases.
We shall see.

too good to be true in places, another highlight of the show. Very curious how those block and evade mechanics work in practice

Hope there's an original language track, the English dub is really bad. I think I even heard an old Chinese guy in the trailer speaking in an Irish accent...
