There certainly hasn't been much news in a LONG time about this game, which would lead one to believe it got the delay axe. Unless Monolith wants to keep this game very low key. I vote for the former.

2004 is turning out to be pretty sad for the Cube. Here's hoping there at least 2 or 3 great titles for the holidays. Metroid Prime 2 might be the only one from the looks of things.

While I disagree, I must say that I'm now interested in Pikmin 2 afterall. I totally ignored the original up until a friend of mine demonstrated a bunch of the game. Having just picked it up for $4.99, I'm actually very impressed with it now. It is a very good game indeed!

Er, it was one of the titles that was highlighted at Nintendo's E3 presentation and it was playable on the show floor in both Nintendo's and Namco's booths. What more do you expect?

You had better recognize the awesomeness that is Pikmin. Pikmin 2 will own us all!

BTW, for the longest time I refused to buy/play Pikmin. Then I saw it on sale for $15 a few months ago and tried it out. I love Pikmin. And my only complaint -- the time restriction -- is "fixed" in Pikmin 2. August can't come soon enough.

Pikmin 2 will compliment the lineup well. There doesnt need to be the 'one' game at the expense of all others. There's afew games in the GC lineup that i see selling quite well.

That's a bit of a shame. You'd think Capcom would be working overtime to get this game out by Christmas, as any delay would hurt Capcom much more than it would Nintendo, but oh well.

Nintendo will hold their own as long as they get a good ad campaign and remind everyone that the GC is $100, comes with a Metroid Prime 2 demo, and Metroid Prime. On top of that, they can count on sales from the Nintendo faithful for games like Paper Mario 2, Star Fox, Pikmin 2, Baten Kaitos, Mario Party 6, Mario Tennis, and hopefully reach out with Metroid Prime 2. Nintendo doesn't have the hugeass name franchises this year. MS has their only one (Halo), and Sony has their big three (GT, GTA, MGS). Next year is when Nintendo will be pulling out the only big gun left with Zelda: FYA.

As far as matching MS this year for console hardware sales, I think that will be a problem even on a worldwide scale. Nintendo's got three platforms to worry about starting November, and the GC won't get the primary focus, that's for sure.

Knowing full well that I'll be accused of damage control, I'm not sure that this is entirely a bad thing. After all, RE0 came out in the midst of the holiday rush (opposite MP, GTA:VC, Splinter Cell, etc), and it didn't exactly light the charts on fire (though it didn't bomb, either). Of course, Q1 is now looking to have a fair number of big games, too (XB in particular).
