I wish only for the best with this remake, reimagining, or whatever Capcom may label it as. But I don't expect them to stay absolutely faithful to the original game. People have already expressed concern about the cheesiness being toned down, in favour of the ideas that they intended to add in during the earlier development stage. Basically what fans labelled as 3.5 later on.
The remake of RE3 was highly disappointing, for starters. I think Capcom personnel were all taken a massive dump while under the influence of something. Looks very much nothing like the original. Very little of the city to explore. Nemesis shouldn't be behaving like Peter Parker and clipping through roofs. The amount of missing areas or ones used as backdrop cameos was a joke, and no ending with Barry saving the day, besides enemies like the worm thing and the spiders not being included. It was just an awful remake overall.
So hopefully, Capcom won't screw up RE4, as that's not going to bode well. I mean, they probably won't dare to mess it up nearly as much, if they're smart. That's because RE4 is the game that genre buffs hold in higher regards. So it would be taboo to do a disservice. But then again, they probably don't care, as people are still going to buy it anyway. They've definitely caught on to people's love for nostalgia... and, so they will milk it for all it is worth.
