-what does her race have to do with it? I’m sorry, you said Phase 4 is all “white men = bad”, so if anything as a white man I should be able to tell when I’m being “discriminated against” (which is rare despite what other white drama queens would have you believe) over a black person. But regardless of the race of the video maker, the arguments are ignorant regardless. They can have their opinion, I’m just calling them out on it. Unless they or you can counter the massive list I provided, then you two don’t have much ground to stand on in terms of this “Phase 4 hates men/white men” shtick
- …….
- failure to provide specific examples, nice. Meanwhile, I ripped apart your current only example…..
- When did I say or imply “brainwashed”? You’re really proving my “drama queens” argument. I implied you and many of this video’s viewers come off as gullible to me, but that’s a good step away from “brainwashed”
- Batgirl was cancelled for multiple reasons, and I guarantee you the detail of a black woman playing a white character whose race was irrelevant to her character (and hell, they changed Gordon’s race in The Batman, and even the usual whiners mostly keep quiet for once, thank god) was barely a factor compared to the movie quality apparently being subpar (mind you, looking through cinema history, test audiences can sometimes be a poor judge of quality depending on who was selected. Look at the dumbass teens in Halloween 6‘s test screenings who called Donald Pleasance of all people “boring”) and Discovery making a bunch of changes. As for Netflix, I barely watch it, but Arcane could easily be labeled “woke” (female lesbian lead with semi-shaved head, let’s be real that’s enough to qualify by some Gaf posters’ defintion) and it was a massive success.
- please give me a non-BS example of this in a Phase 4 story making it “the point”. And a logical example. Captain America comics have often focused on politics, anyone whining about this is as clueless as someone whining about X-men comics focusing on discrimination. Hell, Green Lantern/Green Arrow is a 70’s comic run focused on politics, introduced John Stewart as a new GL and again focused on racism, and is heralded by most comic fans as a classic of its decade. So a superhero comic focused on politics stood the test of time, so spare me the “superhero stories shouldn’t focus on politics” drivel.
-ah yes, I’m the “idiot” whose providing the distractions. You know, except this entire thread was started by an “anti-woke” individual. And you provided the video unprompted to provide more fire to the flames. Meanwhile, I focus on providing facts like Horizon ZD’s sales numbers and listing many examples of white men in Phase 4 being portrayed heroically and sympathetically, and yet I’m the one being the distraction.
- Wow, a single movie whose marketing relied on nostalgia, and your point is? Also yes, no shit manga will ALWAYS do better than comics for a good while now, and will for a long time after. People are mostly normies when it comes to comics, and don’t want to grab a Captain America issue #61 that also requires you to know a few of the prior arcs, which will themselves require you to know a few arcs before that, and don’t forget the crossover issues and tie-in issues. Do you know why The Walking Dead comic was a huge success? Because there’s a really obvious start and eventual end, and THAT’S IT. Guess what else is like that? OMG, so Demon Slayer starts at Vol. 1 and ends at Vol. 23? And no tie-ins, side series, crossovers, and tons of issues that actually predate “Vol. 1”? Well, I can’t fathom how something with such a user-friendly way to begin reading the story coherently could have been such a success! It CLEARLY must all have to do with “woke” stuff and not a far more logical and obvious explanation….
Also, funny, Jordan Peele’s films have been labeled “woke” by plenty of folks here, and Get Out and Us do both have social commentary as a core element, yet both films were very successful.
- so you claim studios are making games that “don’t appeal to most people” and also claim these same studios are “taking less risks”?
Do you also claim your Uncle Ralph is a “brave soul” and in the same breath also claim your Uncle Ralph is a “huge coward”? Seriously, are you okay?
- Ah yes, “the government”. So you’re one of THOSE types of people, eh?
And like Kramer wisely did, I’m just going to try not to make direct eye contact with you for too long and just get on with my day.
