The poster is too Orange / Blue, but the other shots have a more cinematic palette.

The wrist rocket is waaaay gimmicky, but if it can deliver varied payloads it might justify its existence.

A laser slingshot...

A LASER SLINGSHOT...

I honestly don't know how to feel about this.

Its canon now. *sarcastic* Hooray!

I'm starting to get the vibe that the show is going to be focused quite a bit on that kid, that it will be even more children oriented then Clone Wars was. I was afraid of this with the Disney channel airing. Clone Wars was bad enough I felt, though it still managed to have a few decently mature arcs here and there (mainly the sith focused ones) so hopefully at least that practice will continue.

Man that character poster looks derivative as hell. I wish they'd stop talking about the art style and actually implement what they've been saying. Environments look great though.

This has probably been mentioned before, but the beast looking guy is a nod to this isn't it?

Yeah Zeb is based on proto chewbacca.

I find it funny that people are complaining about this show just like they did to tcw back in the day, even though the same people are working on it.

I seriously doubt filoni and co are gonna make this show "kiddy".

I really like the slingshot, if they can adequately explain it. Cause if that's a "lightsaber" slingshot then I just don't know wtf is going on... but it could be something very different, i'm hoping? Why not a slingshot? He's a teenage male... slingshots fit the feeling they are going for. we have laserswords, laserstaffs. laserguns, just about everything else... so why not :p

Remaining really excited still. The fact that it's confirmed as being "canon" makes it all the more interesting to me, though that's just a bonus.

There was "light" bows in TCW, don't see how slingshot is any different.

After over a decade, we are finally moving forwards in time (to before where we were in Episode 4). I wonder if we will see Starkiller.
All starwars games and extended universe content is announced to no longer be canon. So no we won't

I fully expect the main character kid to break out into song when he first appears on screen :
Gotta keep
One jump ahead of the breadline
One swing ahead of the sword
I steal only what I can't afford

It looks like something I could potentially watch with my 7 year old daughter.

Take that as you will, that's a huge positive for me or a horrible negative for another audience.

I am with you on that. I watch Clone Wars with my (admittedly a little too young to watch) 4 year old son. He really only watches two episodes over and over (Downfall of a Droid and Duel of the Droids [those arent too violent]) but he lets me watch others every once in a while. I am frankly surprised by the adult elements in the show. It is surprisingly well done.

That being said, I do not care for the characters in the poster at all. Their look is WAY too silly. Smirks and smiles... and that beast on top looks like a Tangled character. I was actually excited for Disney. They have done a killer job with Marvel. I just hope they dont skew this too young.

They haven't really done anything with Marvel except let them run autonomously. They're doing the same thing with Lucasfilm.
That isn't completely true. The expiration of Spectacular Spider-Man and Earth's Mightiest Heroes can be tied to a Disney desire to rebrand and air Ultimate and Assembled on Disney XD. There's also an accessibility ultimatum which limits serial storytelling and skews those shows younger. However, there is a much more liberal cross-over policy, so all Marvel characters have a chance of showing up in Agents of SMASH, Ultimate, Assembled, with the same voice talent and general design / reality.

A lot of the blame for this can be assigned to Jeph Loeb, but I suspect it's because he's more inclined to take notes from Disney and because Disney is less reverent of Marvel's animated properties. Filoni has been fairly candid that Disney does have a say, although it seems they're more respectful of the Star Wars Story Group's efforts than Loeb's management of animated Marvel (to be fair, Filoni / Weisman / etc. have proven themselves much more to justify that).

Maybe another way to put it is that Marvel can churn out two or three animateds tinkers and it'll just be another in a long line of bad animated series without canonical significance... but Star Wars having relatively few pieces of canon, Disney is more inclined to leave Star Wars to be Star Wars.

The art style screams cheap Disney cartoon from the 90s. Huge step back from how Clone Wars was.

Yet I'd bet money the stories will be just as good, if not better than Clone Wars.

Art style may not be as good yet, but it should get better with time.

The stories...without the Clones, should be much better.
