Suicide Squad: Jared Leto seems less than thrilled his Joker scenes got cut.

“If I die anytime soon, it’s probably likely that it’ll surface somewhere. That’s the good news about the death of an actor is all that stuff seems to come out.”

As IGN left the room, we told Leto we hope he doesn’t die anytime soon, to which he rather darkly responded “We all die.”

Man, Suicide Squad is so shitty it left him... suicidal

Like his take on The Joker or not, it certainly seems like a strange choice to cut any of the Joker scenes. He was an important part of the marketing and he's an immensely popular character.

I certainly wanted more Joker not less and I think the majority of the average movie going public felt the same. Maybe his take was too dark? Hopefully we see it on an uncut version of the film for Blu Ray...

What kind of screen time are we talking about. I don't know how important he was to marketing. I didn't really seen him prominently in the trailers I saw or TV stops. It felt weird. All the magazine and print spots had him. There was a point where even though I saw picture of Jared in character, I didn't know if he was really in this. I thought they shot some teaser stuff aimed at the next batman movie.

Seems like a weird guy.

Don't worry, all of his scenes will be put back in with the Backlash Cut of the movie. WB likes to have two versions of movies. Till Wonder Woman, that will be fine.

We need a reality tv show that documents Leto's off screen nuttiness and eventual screwing over called "My So Called Joker Life".

His Joker was one of the things I was looking forward to seeing the most and it's clear most of it was cut in an effort to create a more fun, light-hearted movie.

he looks mad, of course he is, worst Joker on screen ever and he had to be seen in this ridiculous outfit/body style...

Jared Leto is a good actor but he was a bad Joker, nothing wrong with this. Ledger won't be top in years.

Yup, based on just a couple of the scenes that've been mentioned were cut, WB completely butchered the Joker (and Harley's relationship with him) in SS. They should've just cut him out entirely, he's completely wasted on it.

WB's shitty meddling and editing has made me far less interested in Wonder Woman and any future DC movies. Now I know that even if there's a good movie in there, WB will find a way to completely fuck it up.

WB reacts to everything (with scissors). I wonder if Aquaman is in JL because Finding Dory was huge so they decided they needed a fish in the movie.

My only gripe with the movie was that he wasn't there more. The scene from the trailer were half his face was burnt looked awesome. Hopefully they surface without anyone dying though

The fuck.

This also seems way too fucked up to say when his predecessor in the role of Joker died way too young.

Jared Leto dies or gets mauled in basically every movie he's in. It doesn't surprised me to find out he's so morbid in reality.

He's a self-important twit. I've never seen an actor work so hard to prepare for roles and still give such mediocre performances. His Oscar win for Dallas Buyer's Club was embarrassing and unfortunate.

He has a right to be pissed. Half of his lines that were featured in the trailers were cut, and he ended up with a few minutes of screen time.

I understand that cuts happen all the time, but the Joker is THE biggest villain of the DC universe and they threw him in as a cameo while the actual villain of the film is incredibly weak.

At the very least the
Arkham Breakout/Harley & Jokers beginning/Batmobile chase
scenes should not have been cut down.

He should cool it on the death stuff, though.

Scenes being cut isn't really the problem, WB rushing and wasting characters in one film is when they could have made many films building up to it.

I liked the film plenty, but it needed less Joker if anything.

Some might make fun of him now but in 10 years we will look back on this day. This day of August 6th 2016. Where we will come to the conclusion that the Jared Leto version of The Joker from DC Comics might have been the best rendition of the comic character called The Joker. Maybe even of all time. Obviously Heath Ledger, rest in peace brother, was awesome and genious in his role of the Joker but what Jared Leto has delivered, due to the circumstances, due to the recut, due to his troubled past, makes me very positive about the fact that in 10 years, as long as we are not banned, we will come back to this thread, and look around... we will look around and agree. We agree that Letos performance as the Joker in 2016s Suicide Squad was the beginning of the Jared Leto era of Joker. I'm sure we will see much more of him in the future. I wouldn't even mind if we see a Joker Solo movie. Give me a whole move that is basically his origin story. Add some more Harley to get a bigger crowd. This movie doesn't even need a Batman. Maybe not even a Superman. Just Jared Leto as Joker. Some people might me on the edge but you have to look deeper. Dude's killing it. He's giving life to a comic character. Not only life but soul. Leto is a performer. In real life and in movies. In 10 years, GAF. In 10 years you will agree with me.

Do you think your Joker will be returning in Ben Affleck's upcoming Batman film, Mr Leto?

not enough of his scenes were cut. he was plain bad.

(although if they did actually film the abusive relationship and cut it, then I change this opinion)

They did film it. They filmed plenty of stuff.

Here's a quick gif of him slapping Harleen from one of the cut pieces.

I honestly feel bad for him. It seems like he put his heart and soul in it, and he did not try to copy Ledger to his credit. All that to be used as a gimmick in the trailers.
WB is just the worst.
