I can understand that. I haven't even left the Nuka USA section yet and I'm already in love with it. Honestly I'd be happy even just wandering the park with no quests. The aesthetic is so perfect. Not just the park but the surrounding area is really lovely.

Can't wait to see it all lit up.

Yep, definitely my favorite location(s) in FO4.

Been having fun with the Nuka DLC. Story isn't as good as Far Harbor but I'm enjoying the world and combat more. Still too high level and steam rolling without a Power Armor.

Momentum has totally been killed by this forced settlement stuff again. Having to fast travel back and forth everytime is ridiculous when it takes two hops. I've also had the first story trophy glitch and not pop for me, disappointing considering I couldn't get 3 trophies to work on Far Harbor either.

I'd echo the other posts that I don't really want to become a raider but I'm following that path anyway just to see the DLCs real ending.

10 charisma making it easy though.

I've finished the game when it fist came out and started a new playthrough now that all the DLCs are out. Survival mode is BRUTAL, at least in the beginning. I ran away from a big scorpion and was killed by Mole Rats before finding safety lol. Being infected without antibiotics doesn't help either. But is fun. Killing the Deathclaw in the beginning was really intense.

Ah, I'm saying fuck it and
totally going to kill all the raiders
. I think even if I wanted to break character I don't really enjoy playing the bad guy in Bethesda games (not that I don't think it shouldn't be an option and honestly I think it's great they are letting you play as a raider this time as I think that is something you should have always been able to do even if I don't want to do it).

I'll miss getting the perks (
I'm not even willing to take over my settlements which you have to do to get the perks. She sees the minutemen as her own personal army and why would she weaken her army for people who won't even have the same goal as her?
).

I think just plotting in survival mode some way of
being able to kill all the raiders
is going to be a big enough quest in itself (as well as some other stuff she can do that won't be out of character).

So basically in order to get the most out of raider stuff,I'm supposed to take all the settlements as minuteman, fatten them up and then force them to pay tribute?

The better equipped settlements supposedly pay more.Thing is,there are like ~10 settlements maybe that have settlers by default and even that means 2 or 3 tops with exceptions like the ghoul farm. Wanted to roll a new character as "raider",also to try out survival for the first time but not sure if I wanna restart if it means going through the minuteman route again in order to make raiding viable.

As a side note, what was the point of disabling console for survival? Fast travel I can understand, but console? Why not let people decide if they wanna "ruin" their sp game?
I know I can mod it,but dont understand the reasoning behind it in the first place. It's pretty essential tool with gamebryo jank.

I just finished it, I'm pretty sure I'm just going to
Take vengeance on the raiders considering I negotiated all settlement takeovers and nobody got harmed. Then back my settlements. All an elaborate ploy by me to spread the raiders thin :)

I would recommend all players playing as a "Good" character to just kill off all the raiders in Nuka World and free all the traders. You end up feeling like a post apocalyptic Moses.

I sure noped my way out of the Grandchester Mystery Mansion in Nuka World.

I literally just finished this five minutes ago.

First trophy didn't pop for me either, reloaded an old save and reran the Gauntlet and it popped the second time.

And yeah, super high charisma (which my character has as I was hoping to role-play in the dialogue more...) definitely makes the Raider settlement stuff go smoother.

Went back and did this to be the canon of my character and it is annoying (get ready for what amounts to a 20-minute straight shootout) but I definitely felt better afterwards.

So tempted to wipe everyone out too but I'm Role Playing that I am done being the good guy since the Commonwealth has taken it's toll on me...enough to become a raider...

Really loving Nuka World.

It's amazing that I still play Fallout 4 on PS4 every week and probably will even more once I get a PC for mods.

My dad's playing this on PS4 and whenever there's fire, it has purple squares around it and the actual flame looks black. He asked me how to fix it, but I don't have a PS4 so I have no idea. Anyone else run into this?

Best part of the expansion, super creepy story.

Just finished doing everything but the Cappy's and Medallions. Explored all the outer edges too. Was a good ride but not going to put anymore time into it. Not even sure why I got the raider mission trophy, was annoying traveling back and forth for 5 minutes everytime I did a 1 minute mission.

I'm trying to grind my way through 100,000 tickets in nukacade via spray n praying the bandit game for 700-800 tickets a pop but it's brutal.

Any faster / lazier way?

It really sucks that that there is no scarcity in FO4.
Ammo, chems, bobby pins are all overabundant. Same shit as in Skyrim, where you had practically infinite gold after clearing a couple dungeons.

Survival mode helps a lot in this when you can only carry so much (and ammo takes up some of that weight).

Kind of shocked that the very best prize you can unlock at the Nuka-Cade seems to just be a "Chinese Officer's Sword". Seriously, game? Those are like a dime a dozen back in the Commonwealth. What's even the point of trying to earn so many tickets if that's the very best item you can get with them?

Like seriously, am I missing something here? I have to be missing something here.

Hmm seems like decent impressions on Nuka-World, I'm tempted to impluse buy.

What level would you all recommend to start it? I'm working on a Survival playthrough and I'm only level 11 so far

Anywhere have this on sale right now for XB1?

Jumped in at launch...played for a few hours but put it down and never picked it back up for whatever reason.

Kinda jonesing to get back in...

Survival mode has to many things I don't like so it's not an option for me.
But honestly, the Wasteland should be a scarce place by default. But as usual, Bethesda struggles to balance the game properly. The Fortune Finder and Scrounger Perks are mostly useless. Pickpocketing and stealing are mostly useless. You never need to buy ammo or chems from traders. You never need to crate basic chems at the chem station. Finding ammo, chems and bobby pins doesn't feel rewarding. So many issues, just because the devs were afraid to make the game somewhat hard :/

Unfortunately the two mods that try to make ressources scarce are outdated and not maintained by the mod authors anymore. Less Loot and Ammo seems to be the most functional mod. I had to do some tweaking but now it seems to work.

Only fired Fallout 4 back up yesterday to finish off Nuka World. The settlement attack stuff was more obnoxious than I remembered it. I didn't bother answering any of the calls for support, some were able to defend themselves and others weren't. Oh well.

I think I did most of the quest content for Nuka World, I "cleared" each location that is. Before I assigned any territory to a gang I went back and talked to each leader to see if there was something more they needed. I can't believe Bethesda is still using these shitty radiant quests. No stealth kills on the gang leaders either, I guess? I tried messing with Dixie from the Disciples souvenirs (since the Operators terminal said it would make her flip) thinking it might trigger a more subtle way to off the gangs. No dice, after that I went straight down the Open Season path and finished it up.

Uninstalling Fallout 4 and at this point I think I'm done with anything Bethesda ever develops and labels an RPG.

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.
What's the best audio preset to use with the Gold headset?

So I finished the Far Harbor DLC and (ending spoilers)
wth, so I address Dima about the dead captain and now I can't bring up the wind farms or the sub launch key? I wanted to do those quests :/ Kind of a bummer you just replace Tetkus and it's like "welp that's it" talk about anti climactic

I kept a bunch of extra saves so I could see all the different potential outcomes. Having to replay Shivering Isles in Morrowind to see the other story branch has made me a maniac when it comes to saving frequently.

Not a fan of the quests in Nuka World at all.

I'm only going as far as
finishing the Grand Tour so the Amoral Combat starts triggering and I can get the unlimited ammo gatling laser from the Rogue Knight before I start Open Season and wipe out these fucking raiders. Once the cleansing starts I'm bringing Preston in a nice suit of X-01 Power Armor with me.

I was trying to figure out how the hell I am going to role play from being the Commonwealth hero to a Raider but there are some speech checks when raiding settlements so you don't have to use force.

So I can get what I want but not have to murder everyone.

I'm really enjoying my current playthrough.
If you are on PC, check out Cyan's Perk Mod. It buffs several of the useless perks and perk levels. Something that was bugging me from the beginning.

How do you guys deal with the desire to start a new playthrough and new build every couple of hours?

Oh man. :\

I am still tooling around the first park area in Nuka World and I just can't get motivated to go to the other parts of the map. Probably spent 2 hours or so picking up random items and dropping them off at my commonwealth safehouse.

Finished Nuka World story and I really liked it but I think I'm done with Fallout 4 on the PS4.

Still burned by the mods thing....lost the motivation to finish Far Harbor and check out the Vault Tec DLC too...

There's just to much I want to mod.

Has there been any word on mods coming to PS4?

Do any of you guys play Fallout 4 with keyboard and mouse on PC? Seems somewhat poorly optimized or am I the only one having some few troubles?

Sometimes my character look oddly in a different direction after starting a conversation. I start it with face front and after selecting one or more options my character sometimes is turned away when the dialog camera shows her.

My character has done that even in normal gameplay:
http://imgur.com/a/tIp42
In first screenshot he turns completely to the left, in second slightly to right. I have NEVER encountered any of that while playing with the (Xbox One) gamepad.

And trying to trade with Dogmeat is a pain in the ass since he always runs away after I select him and walks towards him to let the dialog options pop up.

Here are two short clips (47sec in total) showing the issues:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXRqIETtqoM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shAsh5JFIrY

Latest version and fresh install of Fallout 4, no mods, latest drivers from Nvidia and Windows 10.

Holy fuck, I just found the best FO4 mod of all time.

V.A.F.S. - VaultTec Accelerated Focus System - Manual Criticals AND Bullet Time

It's essentially a greatly improved bullet time + crits outside VATS in one single mod.
It's not overpowered and integrates seamlessly into the game. The amount of slowdown depends on your perception, each shot costs AP depending on the weapon and almost all VATS perks work in V.A.F.S.! Works great with FO4 Hotkeys.

Really annoyed that Bethesda isn't even allowing mods on PS4 that don't use new textures, new sounds, and are within the size limit. There are plenty of great mods that meet that criteria.

PS4 Mod Update

After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.
