I don't think they can make the expansion drives in any other form than the expansion slot itself? If anything, the additional drives can only be longer, but then again, given the Seagate's one is either a 2230 or 2242 M.2 drive and almost half of it already sticks out, can we realistically expect 2260 or 2280 format drives? Most of their length would stick out of the console, that's an obvious no-go. So I personally don't think any additional drives that'll appear in the future will look different than the Seagate one, which already looks very similar to the internal drive installed on the motherboard.

Could be something that is connected via a cable/ riser using the male end of the current external drive

Holy shit, didn't thought about it, they might indeed be essentially external drives in the future that will connect through the expansion slot and act like an internal drive.

Thanks for asking I was wondering the same thing and thank you to all who responded and explained. I think the concern tolling by people that have absolutely NO intention of ever buying an Xbox was getting to me.

It always works like this. Especially atm considering MS's had a really good past couple of weeks with the Zenimax power move purchase, and sending out Series X units to a lot of folks, coupled with smaller things like more Gamepass perks and combined with the (frankly) unfortunately quite bad wave of Sony news since the show Sept 16 (cross-gen versions of Spiderman and Horizon, possibly cross-gen Demon's Souls Remastered (definite PC version in dev), the price hike for games, Godfall always-online requirement, the system size becoming more apparent, official cross-gen support from Sony for "3 to 4 years" (don't really think this is 1P-related but still), questionable BC (no word if the majority of the PS4 library will be BC Day 1), lack of cross-gen save support, etc.).

We're seeing some of the more hardcore Sony-centric types try throwing a monkey wrench into MS momentum of late and trying to conjure RROD Part 2 fears is the quickest and easiest way to do so. Too bad they're taking swings at a home-run but hitting themselves in the face with those bats instead.

On YT some of the worst ones like Crapgamer and Saltiest Gamer are really trying to push the idea out there. I think some resentment over the PS5 overheating rumors from earlier in the year are a driving force (tbf, a lot of those rumors were also unsubstantiated).

Evangelion Unit-01

Master Chief
Fake

Yes-likely just Amazon placing it during the last week of June since that would place it at the middle of the year. They are making the assumption that the game/book comes out sometime during the first half of the year but they don't know anymore than we do.

Frankly, who knows when the game will actually release. That's ultimately a function of 1. How rough the game really is now and 2. What Phil and team feel is an acceptable product to release. Will they pull a Nintendo and polish it until it shines or will they pull a MCC/Crackdown 3 on us? I'm inclined to believe that it won't release in sorry shape but don't believe that it is going to change the world either. The game is already "complete" and I don't think we get a genre defining FPS without a full return to the whiteboard. We have to just wait and see.

i dont have the ability to ethernet while my set-up would support wifi 6

But speed from wifi 5 between the xbox and the router would be pretty much the same as wifi 6.

WiFi 6 is definitely better for big families that all use the WiFi at the same time.

Also wifi 5 or 6 is only as fast as your Internet connection will allow and I can't imagine many people having Internet faster than what even WiFi 5 can achieve between the device and the router.

My one X gets really hot but I've never had a problem with it. It's on in one way or another 24/7 with gaming stints of 12 hrs often. I'm getting series x day 1 so gonna defo put it to the test. I know it'll be just fine!
