STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN | Final Trailer

The most intriguing and innovative feature is the party system in this game, I mean Code Vein was already the first "Soulslike with party members" but the party system along with the FF Job System will be the real game changer here, and let's not forget that it's made by the Nioh and Ninja Gaiden devs, that should speak volumes about the combat.

I feel like this game is going to be one of the sleeper hits this year actually.

Everyone seems to love this I can't even understand..
It's because something seems so off about the game. It's like the Japanese developers time travelled from 2003 and wanted to make the coolest American protagonist they knew. The dialogue is batshit insane, it's not a translation issue. Then to top it all off, they license literally the most popular song played at funerals in the US and put it in a trailer for a fantasy game.

I just have to see whether this car crash of a game is actually good or not.

Nioh and Nioh 2 are some of my favorite games in the past 10 years, but unfortunately SE decided to go exclusively with EGS for the PC version of it, so they won't be getting a purchase from me. I refused to reward that kind of exclusivity bullshit on the PC platform.

Combat looks great which is all I care about. If it comes to another platform down the line, whether that's GoG, Steam, etc, I'll pick it up there. If I find a physical copy for sub 20 dollars for PS5, I'll grab it then.

I don't know man, I liked the trailer. Plus I liked the nods to the original game and I love Sinatra. The demos the game had were surprisingly addictive and kept me playing and wanting to see more. And I'm glad to see there are more classes. Also neat to see some of the co-op options, my only hope is that I can main any character I want during solo play too, I don't want to have to wait for rare moments to play with a buddy.

I'd say Sophia's the waifu for me, but honestly the Princess is great and its nice to see one in a game again. Day 1 here for sure. Don't think it'll top Nioh 2 for my favorite game from them, but I'm just looking to have a good time. Plus its great seeing a ton of classic FF baddies get the action treatment. I always LoL at how Jack manhandles a Cactuar and felt bad for the alluring elemental ladies.

I didn't know that Nomura was doing the story.
Nojima is actually writing it which... might even make it sound worse considering when not on a leash he goes really crazy with it 😂

But this game is wacky on purpose so there's that and it might work really well because of it...

Then you haven't played many games if KH3, of all titles, was the worst story.
I’ve played tons of JRPGs, KH3 isn’t in the worst but definitely in the bottom 5 (Star Ocean 4 would probably be the absolute worst)

My 6 year old watched me play KH3 and even she thought it was retarded. Bunch of dipshits in black leather + stupid haircuts standing on mountaintops talking about fate and destiny and stuff. It’s so cringe it’s almost physically painful.

Kingdom Hearts 3 had the worst story I've ever experienced in a video game. It was godawful.
Firing Sakaguchi was one of the biggest reactions in the video games Industry. May have lost pace with technical the evolution of games, but his games post Square still have an interesting world and characters.

My interest for this game droped after seeing they were going to do that loot thing, i don't like it in an action game, couldn't stand it on ni oh, although with difficulty levels should feel more balanced than ni oh at least, other than that this one looks fun

These guys can’t be serious with this game….I’m in. We need something different, this is it. It doesn’t take itself too serious, and the combat looks like a fun time.

Wonder if it will still run at 10fps on Series Consoles and PS5.

Like the Nod to FF1's opening scene at the end (even though this is basically FF1)

It makes sense why SE is turning into a FVII game factory, I'll be dead before they make a new decent game.

They should bring Sakaguchi and pay him whatever he wants or be sold to Sony.

I really wanna like this game but I've disliked the demos so far...It just feels early in development. My gameshare partner preordered it so ill check it out still and I hope it turns out good.

I had no real idea what this game was meant to be, and after playing the demo I wouldn't have come to that. It's NIOH in a FF setting, right down to the intro tutorial stylings. However, I skipped all the cutscenes because what the fuck is up with that Frankenstein narrative. There's no way the full game's intro will be like that so why are they allowing the saves to continue?

Overall though, I dig it. Will likely get it on PC (not sure if should wait on it coming to STEAM), because though the game ran well on the PS5, favoring resolution still didn't look fantastic. A bit too much aliasing. Also, what is up with people wearing sneakers and flannel shirts around their waists in a world full of knights and goblins? This shit is super jarring and I wish SE would move away from their need to have genre aesthetics clash.

This looks like crap...
But it's from the NiOh developers, so maybe... maybe there's a great combat and loot system buried under that utterly generic ugly hood.

Played the demo. It was great. The combat is based on NiOh but with a bigger role to magic. the loot and progression system is different and based on traditional FF jobs. A true mix of both franchises. Last FF game with this depth was FF Tactics.

GameShare partner? Is that a friend who buys the game and let's u play it for free on their account? Never heard of that.

If so your lucky to be in that kind of relationship. I wish i had a partner like that.

Going to try the demo tonight. Then my rental should be here soon.

You don't know what gamesharing is? Its pretty cool, my best friend of over 25+ years and I do it on Switch, Series X, and PS5..been doing it for however long it's been a thing on consoles for years now..Pretty much have all the games we want(Like tons between us) since we just take turns buying them

Only one of you need to have Xbox Live paid for or w/e service as well to play online even, so we alternate years we pay for the service. Saved tons of cash over the years and played more games than I ever have since it became a thing

Since he and I have totally different tastes it gives us the ability to try stuff we wouldn't normally try.

What time is it?
Some of the prerendered cutscenes are atrocious, like they were recorded at 480p.

Played a bit. Combat seems smooth. It's way too fast for my liking. Modern Final Fantasy aesthetics just don't do it for me either. This is going to be a pass from me.

Btw dont know if anybody knows this but each zone is "inspired" and modelled from every final fantasy game, example in the 2nd demo the forest area youll notice you can hear a FFXIII theme in the background as its based on the forest from that game, Snow area is based on Mt.Gagazet from FFX etc.
