Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
PlayStation camp be like:
Saving this for my PS homies for if/when GoW gets delayed.

We have certain people already declaring it the game of the generation. Don't look for reason where there is none. How can you possibly know this when we have yet to see even a second of actual gameplay?
Them delaying it tell us otherwise, and you'll likely be all the more thankful for that decision.
It's especially embarrassing when you realize PlayStation's gotten more out of Zenimax post-acquisition (Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo timed exclusives) than Xbox has, and they didn't need to spend $7.5 billion to get it.
What CEO is going to be cheery while realizing that fact?
Grown ass adults whining like children.
Sony likes to sit back and wait for everyone to reveal their cards before they play. If GOW does launch this year, perhaps they buy Santa Monica a month or two more then planned. I’m sure they are salivating at having the uncontested premiere game launch for the holidays. Now Sony may continue with God of war delay.
I am here for the obvious "what kind of constructive feedback are they really getting from the Gamers"
But Uncle Phil tickles our feel-good hype sensors.
He will have a well prepared, ambiguous statement that will soothe the burns like a well-prepared lavender salve. One we will all cheer on either later today, or in the coming days.
...that will make any politician blush
Phil Spencer on the delay:
Yes you should have lolAh should've made that fucking bet
I’m sure he has, the same way most of you are gushing over a game with no gameplay and coining it game of the year or whatnot!
Weird part about this delay is when a game that already had a date set for release, when it gets delayed it comes with a new date set for release.
But this one is just a vague 2023..How long will it be? 6 months? 1 year?

Ah, Common sense. A rare commodity on GAF.

I really think starfeild is being delayed by bathesda because they want to win GOTY and they know they can’t do that this year. So pushing the game to the February or March is safe and gives Microsoft a big game in q1 something they haven’t had ever.
Last time it happened if I'm not mistaken it was with Halo Infinite, delayed a whole year with no release date upon delay.Considering they showed the 11/11 date multiple times, I'd say it shouldn't be a long delay. Probably a few months at most.
Yeah I'm guessing October/November 2023 for Starfield. Hopefully I'll have a new GPU by then.I think Redfall is coming in H1 2023 (I actually thought it'd get delayed to Q4 2022). Starfield will be their big Fall 2023 game. I'm also basing this on Jason's comments. If the game was/is in a Cyberpunk-type state, it will require a bit more time than just 4-6 months of polish.
CP2077 took 15 months to fix the technical issues. The game still doesn't have the content that marketing implied pre-launch.
If Starfield doesn't have the content problems and that "Cyberpunk" comparison was just devs being hyperbolic, then, yes, they can do Q2 2023. Otherwise, I foresee an H2 release date. Besides, a game of this scope (a Bethesda open-world is always huge with lots of content) will require many months even if it is just polishing, optimization, and bug fixes. Just my guess though.
His is classy AF though, which gave me the mental image of Fallout Guy, lol.that one is better, DeepEnigma wins again!
I am a proud green rat and had multiple occasions in the past where I got to meet Phil Spencer in person a couple of times and had conversations but I still think this is the funniest image meme I've seen in a while.
As a well known hardcore Xbox fan, I'm obviously disappointed. The second part is true, I intend on playing Starfield day one on PC.
Like Miyamoto famously said : "A delayed game is eventually good, but hurry the fuck up you lazy bastards."
It was likely a joint decision between the two parties but something Phil Spencer pushed for. Phil is absolutely desperate for a big new Xbox game and they needed something good to show after the Halo debacle from the year prior. There was also the burning question about whether Starfield would be exclusive at the time, but simply rolling a trailer and announcing it was exclusive wouldn't be enough. They needed a date too.
Forza Motorsport surely must launch this year, right guys?Haha so NO big games are releasing in 2022, got it. Oh well, not the end of the world.
Where we going with this? Why did they need the bolded?
Where we going with this?
But what gameplay could they show if most of their games are coming out next year? What shape would they be in?
We'll see on the 12th June as at least this has confirmed gameplay for both games.Redfall doesn’t look that good. Why the hype? Just looks like another fps game, and not up to the caliber of pre-Deathloop Arkane games.

Well I’m not sure if the date given was just nice in theory or something they really thought possible. What’s stranger to me is showing that elaborate Redfall reveal, a game no one seems to be excited for, and then giving us a Summer 22 release date. I don’t understand what’s going on over there.Just trying to find out what's the point in throwing a date out, if MS knew they couldn't hit it.
a lot funnier when you know that Ms had the highest meta scores of any publisher last year
im not convinced that any games are coming out xbox, playstation or otherwise...for the rest of the year.
i look at the Coming Soon section of the xbox store...and Saints row is like the next "big" game listed. Which is half a year away
Phil Spencer better be hitting up Louis C.K.'s sign guy for June 12th.
But seriously, wtf?
What happened to Starfield being in the polish phase of production? Horseshit.
Surely they show something on June 12th that is actually coming out this year, right? RIGHT?!?
I am here for the obvious "Starfield fans should be the rat no?"Saving this for my PS homies for if/when GoW gets delayed.
Did Microsoft confirm that?

Starfield fans? What? Those exist? How?
Last paragraph on press release, must be talking about the 12th.
