I'm really liking the outpost stuff and spaceship crafting, though. The ambition is easily there, I just don't see why it has to be stuck at 30 FPS with framepacing issues on Series S and especially Series X. If they can iron out the technical side then I think it'll be an absolute hit.

This. If it’s technically good, I’m all in. Can sink hundreds of hours into it.

Flying looks fun as fuck to me, I dunno what that ex-dev was talking about.

Though I will say after playing Star Citizen, let's just say this makes me appreciate Star Citizen's ships.

BUUUUUUT, you can't make your own ship on Star Citizen.

Give us a frickin date Todd!

They could’ve boiled this down to a 35 minute presentation anchored by Starfield. Instead they waste our goddamn time and end with Starfield, which does look fun as hell.

I'm excited for Starfield, but yea I'll play this on pc, this is gonna be a mess on consoles with the scale of the game. If there is a "performance" mode I can't imagine the amount of cutbacks they're gonna have to do to get there.

This game looks really rough to me. I feel like the environments/shading are similar to the Mass Effect Remaster. And the shooting just looked a decade old.

Needed the delay for sure.

Dont understand why they wanna show off the shooting when we want to see the role playing elements

Eh, people want action, and gunplay, even barebones gunplay in a game that does 1million other things besides gunplay, is action.

I agree with you though, if this had shown the combat off as something more RPG'ish like VATS (not sure if they have anything not-realtime to the combat, doesn't seem so,) at least you'd get an understanding and appreciation of the mechanics. Here, they're making it seem like an FPS, and there are countless better-playing FPSes than what we see here. This isn't a FPS, it's an RPG that happens to use FPS gunplay as one of its components, better to highlight the mix, which they did in the rest of the presentation, but it took me a sec to get into it again after being turned off a bit by the combat.
