Yeah, of PCs. For mods.If Bethesda manage to break type and actually release a rock solid game technically though, it'll be a huge system seller.

Ohh fuck I didnt even realize these guys are gonna be in the OT telling us how bad the game is even if they havent played it in any meaningful way.
Same thing happens with Sea of Thieves, nothing but haters but theyve never bothered actually playing it.
These adults behaving like children is tiresome, and makes the whole forum less enjoyable. I was looking forward to the event and discussing it with other people on the forum, and then you got that thread... Everything was boring, everything was bad, everything was ugly, except for those games that were multi-platform of course. If we can't even enjoy the big gaming events of the year, why even discuss anything note worthy.17 pages and counting.
By the time this thread dies down we'll have a mount everest of salt.
Are you? Starfield says nayThe game is a full calendar year away from release.
I am pretty confident these issues will be ironed out before release.
Expecting a solid 60 FPS performance mode on SX .
I think it will 30fps
I doubt the consoles can barely even hold 20 right now
I agree with this, I hope we don't hit that point soon where we see next gen games dropping to 30 this early in to the generation, This would be a big negative for myself in investing in a Series X, I could invest in a PC to run this at 60 fps but that could potentially cost thousands.Games should be targeting 30 on XsX? This is not the expectation any longer.
People are refusing to buy Until Dawn spiritual sequel because it’s 30fps…a point and click movie adventure game.
Huh they have cutscene quality on random NPCs too? That’s impressive. Scratch my comment then. I’ll jump in again eventually, still playing Elden Ring. Those numbers are all wrong, if you talk with every character when you meet the king and all the sidequest characters in the first village before actually entering the forbidden west we are over 20 charas already.
In fw any small interaction with npcs that gives you a quest are motion captured or just hight quality, even small ass commissions.
I was not only talking about primary and secondary characters.
Ironically, aloy looks less natural than some tertiary characters.
It's probably the most impressive piece of tech in the entire game yeah.Huh they have cutscene quality on random NPCs too? That’s impressive. Scratch my comment then. I’ll jump in again eventually, still playing Elden Ring.
He said he thinks the game is targeting 30 FPS, and like I said before we are a full calendar year away from release so they have a lot of time for optimizations between now and then. Are you? Starfield says nay
For sure, I understand and I hope they can give us those sweet toggle between quality and performance. I just don't think I could go back to 30 now being spoilt with these new generation of consoles. He said he thinks the game is targeting 30 FPS, and like I said before we are a full calendar year away from release so they have a lot of time for optimizations between now and then.
Nah. Its only when a game like this isnt multiplat that you get more negative comments than usual - like this thread. Especially if its an Xbox exclusive. Its expected though. This is going to be a massive game. Real talk, if you dont have an Xbox Series console now, you're either thinking of getting one, or have made your mind up about getting one at this point. I wouldnt blame you. No one would actually.I absolutely love how any negative comment is considered trolling/salt/warring.
News flash, people have different taste, more news at 11.
Ooooor many people didn't liked past bethesda games that much and they were hoping in some improvements on the jank\combat\animations etc.Nah. There's so much noise/warring in these threads it's hard to get a tangible sense of what's going on in Starfield by wading through the posts. But I found this one, thought I'd share it, here's one of my favorite balanced sources of space games breaking down what Starfield is about, sorry if it's already posted:
But of course you do....smh.Or, many people didn't liked past bethesda games that much and they were hoping in some improvements on the jank\combat\animations etc.
I don't need an xbox console to play this one because i have a pc.
Forums are full of different opinions, for me it's more stupid to hand off any criticism as trolling.
I'm gonna buy this one at day one because i'm a sucker for open world games (and i enjoy janky games) but for now i'm not fully convinced myself and some criticism are legit.
Of course i do what? But of course you do....smh.
That said, Beth games typically have some jank. It's part of the charm. I'll be damned if I'm going to watch this demo and focus more on the negative than the positive. There's waaaaaay more positive and it speaks for itself.
No planet will be "handcrafted". They will all rely heavily on procedural generation, obviously.Been seeing a lot of "I wonder how many of these 1000 planets will be handcrafted" posts
Which is fine, if they can make it feel at least decent and get rid of the unnecessary numbers on display. Here you have ... nothing. Plays like your standard 1st person shooter + jetpack.
That’s where the resource mining comes in. Go to the red planet for iron, go to the pink planet for some pixie dust etc.No planet will be "handcrafted". They will all rely heavily on procedural generation, obviously.
Otherwise sequestrating in a gulag three generations of asset creators for ten years wouldn't be enough.
If anything the question is "How much handcrafted content will be distributed among these planets".
It's easy to guess that at least 9/10 of these planets/moons will be basically background. Places where the player will have hardly any actual need to go or will find hardly anything of relevant use.
Which is completely fine and reasonable for a space game, as long as the handmade parts will still be "meaty" and satisfying enough to carry an extended playthrough.

I'm not going to miss the VATS system. It was hot trash.
They are used to it and apparently the fans too as this is most definitely going to be a bug fest when released. I mean how many time have we been here? It’ll most definitely get released broken like every Bethesda RPG ever released. It will definitely be held back by it - if you're making a next-gen only game with an extended development period I don't know why you wouldn't go for a new engine. I'm sure it would save time in the polishing phase too, not having to deal with this old, janky engine.
as excited as i am for starfield, and as much as i want to slap down the haters, thhat point in completely and utterly undeniable. bethesda has given us zero reason to believe this wont be like every single other release of theirs. They are used to it and apparently the fans too as this is most definitely going to be a bug fest when released. their "bad" means she is not hot enough to bangWait this looks bad to you? I was pretty impressed by the facial animations.
I actually like how you can see the imperfection in her nose. Makes you wonder if it is scanned from someone or a designer spend a lot of time editing those small features.let us fix it, shall we
I’ll definitely get a series x when Starfield is 60 fps. Have a feeling I’ll be waiting a while though.Nah. Yeah, obviously. My point is, a lot of people on this thread are expecting to find meaningful content like quests in those. No planet will be "handcrafted". They will all rely heavily on procedural generation, obviously.

About gameplay: I will miss VATS a lot.
Fallout 3, NV and 4 were playable due to VATS. Aiming was horrible.
That's my one critique from the demo, is that they didn't display a single unique combat hook yet.VATS is a must. Or at least slo-mo aiming like in The Outer Worlds. If not day one by Bethesda then I'm sure shorty thereafter by modders.
Personally i dont expect anything new or innovative at this day and age, I just wish combat looked and felt better. That's my one critique from the demo, is that they didn't display a single unique combat hook yet.
We saw them slide. And then basic machine gun, basic shot gun, basic grenade.
There needs to be more than that. Melee, stealth, traps and unique weapons, abilities? A unique system for this game equivalent to VATS or different? They failed on this part for me.
It's nuts how much effort they put into mocapping every little side quest and choregraphing every single dialogue tree in the game.Huh they have cutscene quality on random NPCs too? That’s impressive. Scratch my comment then. I’ll jump in again eventually, still playing Elden Ring.
Zero-G shooting, for one. That's my one critique from the demo, is that they didn't display a single unique combat hook yet.

For me, shooting with dual sticks and no gyro sucks. For an RPG it's nice to be able to have an optional tactical view, and it works well with stealth, and gives you the fun slow mo kills. No idea why anyone would hate it.Zero-G shooting, for one.
Maybe turning it into a competent shooter over time, too?
I can't really stress enough how much VATS sucks and how much I do NOT want a game balanced around it.
For a starters, No Man Sky isn't an RPG game.Looks like NMS to me, lots of content, none of it interesting for more than a couple of hours, will definitely wait on reviews
