Eh, maybe. The team may just have different plans. But if this announcement was for another announcement and it DOESN'T have a surprise at the end, then what's the point of having it in the showcase? This was a tweet in video form.

The way this is worded pretty much confirms Dragon's Dogma 2 if you ask me. I bolded the text that's important to read.
You have to be REALLY stupid to waste an opportunity like that. Remember Street Fighter 6 was also announced and teased at the anniversary earlier this year in February.
Fun fact, that same day FF7 is celebrating its 25th anniversary and FF7 Remake Part 2 is all but confirmed at this point as well. Everyone is expecting the announcement fornthat as well.
In case those who do not believe me that I work or not in the game industry here is a screenshot part of the email. And no, this is NOT embargoed. There is nothing secret here.

Not saying it can't happen (albeit what Itsuno said during the livestream would point to likely not), but nothing in that wording confirms anything.
As to why they would make a video without a relevant announcement, it can very well simply be for engagement and keeping people interested before an announcement can be made, It wouldn't be the first or the last time. Maybe we'll get some vague "we're working on something, stay tuned" tease.

Huh? I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. The only other msg I can think of is a Dragon's Dogma remaster or a remake or something for new gen consoles. I'd take it but would be disappointing if not a sequel.
Capcom 2023 is already stacked also - Street Fighter 6, Pragmata, Resident Evil 4 and Exo Primal are 2023 games that's 4 games already. I don't see where they would fit Dragons Dogma 2 unless it's just an early tease for 2024.

It could be something vague but a bit more hopeful, like "don't lose hope, we're working for you" or something of that sort. Personally, I do not expect a full announcement and nothing (including the wording of the press release) tells me that can be considered even close to confirmed.
