So does Obi wan finally get his mojo back in the end? Weak obi wan was turning me off during the first two episodes.

I liked the finale, the Vader vs Obi-Wan fight was good.

Overall the show is 7/10, there are 2 or 3 episodes that were complete filler and pointless to watch.

The character of the 3rd sister and her story arc is also completely pointless, they could have made that character so much better but just didn't.

Two 1-hour specials would have sufficed instead of 6 episodes.

Is there talk of an Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon show? Or is that is now for Obi-Wan?

Liam Neeson is returning for the Tales of the Jedi animated anthology show. He’ll voice Qui-Gon in it and his son will voice young Qui-Gon.

When they want to they can make some truly amazing moments. The scene where Vader/Anakin with the mask cut in half talks, has so many emotions.
There are the minimalist lines he delivers that are so nicely interweaving with the ambient colors from the lightsabers, changing from red to blue, to red again. To me, there was a hint of good Anakin in there, Anakin from the Return of the Jedi.
Watching this scene was like reliving in the span of seconds all their interactions and their friendship, from the prequel trilogy.

There's already a Book of Boba edit on the way so definitely yeah.
Hmm, an official edit or fan made? That would be a tough one since they gotta keep all that Jennifer Beals hotness but TBH it was all for nothing and should be cut. Salvaging any of the Boba Fett footage would be hard, though all you really need is what we got in Mando s2 and that he can ride a rancor he got from....somewhere :p

Tag, you're it.
Is it me or does the final episode either have some major encoding issues or they threw some crappy filters on a lot if the footage ?
I had the same feeling, not to mention the FX are terrible in this last episode with a special mention to everything that takes place in space.

So disappointed with this series, and more generally with everything Disney has done with SW. It's good to see Obi-Wan using the force though.

Overall i really loved the last episode!

-Reva stuff was ok, clearly setting her up for her own series
-Anakin and Obiwan stuff was the highlight! Obi showing that hes still the Master and seeing Anakins face in the mask and the voice going back and forth between Anakin and Vader was fantastic stuff! NOW the line in New Hope makes sense when Vader says "When i left you i was but the learner"
-Leia stuff was cute, and Obi telling her that bit about her parents was awesome
-Owen letting Obi meet Luke was nice and the "Hello There" line was the icing on the cake
-Seeing QuiGon was cool too, we knew it was coming since the 1st episode when Obiwan was talking to him
-Palps at the end

Yea the people screaming in this thread about the line in A New Hope should see this episode, but we know they were never even watching it in the first place so what are you gonna do...

Nice to hear about the finale. I thought it had exceptionally weak start with a lot of stupidity (laser gate that he could just walked around behind the building/jump over - or that Leia running 1st episode etc).

Something to look forward to watch this weekend (the final 2 episodes)

The last episode almost pulled off something special but like most of the rest of the show, this part makes absolutely ZERO sense...

Obi had the worst villain in the galaxy beaten again and he leaves him to recover and continue his murderous rampage against innocents? "I will do what I must." What must you do Obi? Fail the entire galaxy because of "old friend feelings?" Makes no god damn sense. I understand he has to beat Vader to fulfill the line of "I was once the learner, now I am the master." But they could have easily had Vader escape in some way so that it made more sense, instead they just leave him kneeling in front of Obi ready to die and he just walks off like Revenge of the Sith. What is this shit? This literally makes Obi the biggest failure in the galaxy.

Ha fan edit of course.

I watched the final fight scene for this show on YouTube. So after the stupid, drawn out, force porn bullshit was over the final exchange between Obi Wan and Vader was really good. Man, I wish that was the show Disney made instead.

where can i watch that?
None are finished yet as far as I know. This guy is streaming his editing process live:

His Last Jedi edit wasn't that great because he was trying to change the entire movie. I'm sure there'll be others, fan edits are a pretty common thing. Some of The Last Jedi edits are apparently pretty good and really tighten up the film. As much as I hated TLJ I recognize there is potentially a good story within.

Hell, the main version of the OT I watch is the fan edited despecialized edition.

Overall, the series is an 8.3 for me. The last two episodes are clearly the best of the series. Nevertheless, the last two episodes are also not "highlight" episodes. There were some highlights here and there. But not a whole episode that is now on a different level.

I expected much more from the last duel in particular. After all, they announced the "duel of the century". But the whole thing went by pretty quickly and basically the duel is just another version of the duel Vader vs. Ahsoka in Star Wars Rebels S02E22. Quite funny, actually. Especially because the E04 was a re-interpretation of the end of Jedi Fallen Order.

Yes, I agree with that. I would have liked it better if we had seen the Vader vs. Kenobi Part II fight without interruption. After this fight they could have shown the scenes with Reva and Owen/Beru/Luke. It would have made more sense in terms of the chronology.

But I have to say clearly that I really liked Moses Ingram's performance in the last episode.

Obi rolling during that fight - maybe he got his mojo back by playing some Dark Souls first 😅

Overall ok finale, also waiting for a 90 minute supercut.

The good:
- Vader Obi Wan fight, a lot better than the previous one. Seeing Obi with all the stones makes it even worse that Rey isn’t his daughter/granddaughter :(
- Reva showing some emotion
- Owen really looked like the OT Owen sometimes. Still a great casting choice!
- Hello there
- The two cameos ❤️

The bad:
- Episode 8 Chase scene
- the Darkness
- How small is this galaxy? Or how fast are those spaceships in hyperdrive? Seriously!

Obi Wan stuck the landing like Keri Strug on one leg. THAT SHIT WAS DOPE! The show was uneven in spots but damn if the highs were not high as hell. I was hesitant watching the Kenobi Vs Vader fight since I initially thought it would be bad form for Vader to lose to Obi-Wan...twice but here I am, wanting to buy the series on 4K Blu-Ray just to remind myself of the fight every time I walk through my cave.

There was quite a bit of allegory here.

Their first duel was amidst the raging flames of the lava mines of Mustafar. Now ten years later, the fires of Obi-Wan's youth long since cooled, they find themselves in a quiet mine in the dark of night.

Obi-Wan tells Leia that using the Force is like turning on a light when one is afraid of the dark. When he's lost in the dark and terrified, as soon as he hears Vader's voice he doesn't hesitate to fire up his saber, after being reluctant to a moment before. This shows he's at the end of his rope, and Vader is fully in control of the situation. It also shows Obi-Wan falling into something Jedi are not supposed to succumb to: fear.

Finally, after rewatching the scene, Vader is clearly letting him go. There could be many reasons, but I think it's most likely that Vader figures he can let Obi-Wan wallow in his failure - because remember, Vader doesn't know that Obi-Wan is actually in anguish over him failing Anakin. Vader believes himself to have been the failure that day. Now he wants to make Obi-Wan feel the same - not realizing that he already is, just for reasons that Vader can now no longer understand.
I like the write up. I haven't watched the last episode yet so I'm reading old posts. Hope it's a good conclusion but I'm a little worried cause there is talk of a second season so I don't know if that will soften the impact of the last episode

Also in the end …Reva didn’t matter at all to the story…. Like zilch. She didnt even save the day or anything like that. I wish she got some form of validation in some way.

Also All these mini series seem like they write the last episode first then work backwards. This one was just completely obvious of that.

We should have gotten a film in three acts and this as the finale.

Hayden gets his redemption, he is a good actor and glad he got an opportunity to work with Ewan again.

Vader was between a rock and a light sabre. I guess Obi Wan got his rocks off, he loves rock and dodge roll.

Pretty decent ending episode. I liked the fight scene and the mask/voice part. A more sensible conclusion to it should have happened. I wish they did not interrupt it, one long scene would have been more epic. I’m pleased Reva’s scenes didn’t retcon anything really, however, the were also inconsequential and unneeded. Too bad they didn’t drop all the episodes at once, or just trim it to movie length. Reaction would have been better as it ends stronger than it starts.

Reeva spoils the series. Too much screentime on her end for a sub-story that no one cares about.

People just wanted Obi-Wan and Vader stuff, and when it happens it's good.

The final fight is damn awesome.

So I'd give the show a B-, because they decided to lose time on things unnecessary for the main plot.

Here's hoping for a season 2 with prime Kenobi now back on track.

Overall I found the show to be pointless in the grand scheme of things and Reva's character really dragged it down. Just so much stupid shit with her. Could not roll my eyes harder when she was all the sudden on Tatooine while everyone else was in the same spot they were at the end of the last episode. Yep lady who just got stabbed through the gut got up on her feet, found a ship, and made it all the way to another planet in that time. Got some dumbasses writing this shit.

I was hoping there would be a “Kenobi/Maul Finale” type moment somewhere in this series and there were a few moments that had weight, but it felt more important in terms of Hayden being redeemed in the Star Wars universe after the hate he got. Hayden and Ewan made the scene, not necessarily Anakin and Obi Wan….at least from my perspective. Maybe not from others.

Some boring bits, some silly questionable bits and a very solid finish for the finale. Overall pretty happy with everything, especially the production value and even found myself enjoying the cute Leia bits by the end. A few throwbacks to the prequels in terms of framing, lighting and emotional development too. The teasing elements were well executed e.g. Kenobi sort of teetering on hate-saber bashing there etc. A few losses and some redemption but overall the vistas, characters, "living worlds" and set pieces helped really drive that classic Star Wars experience.

7/10 (the last episode really brought things up a notch or two). I enjoyed a shorter season, didn't drag too much and delivered the core of the short story just fine.

Spot on, this was actually my conversation with a friend, and it isn`t the only scene that makes ZERO sense, as you say. One could argue that some of the decisions the characters make are downright idiotic, but I don`t want to be too harsh.
I think that these scenes are a result of backing themselves into a corner, I mean that`s what happens with sequels before prequels and then inserting shows smack down in the middle of them all.

Every time Disney does something around the original characters they dimin them a little bit more.
the fight at the finale between Vader and obi-wan was fine. Good fight interesting to watch. But it never should have happened. It just takes away from the overall story.
everything in this show is an attempt to add something to a new hope but it just diminishes it.

there are fun scenes. My kids enjoyed it. But it was not good.

Star Wars needs to leave the original trilogy alone. Calling something Star Wars and mot having known characters is enough to bring people. As long as the stories are good.

My theory from forever Star Wars lore, especially old school Star Wars
Obi was already tapping into a bit of the dark side and raw emotion to defeat Vader, when he saw Anakin, pure emotion came out, if he would have struck him down, he would probably have fallen to the dark side himself. Obi-Wan was always more methodical and carful minded.

My theory, anyway as a life long Obi-Wan fan.

But he killed maul and grievous brutally for the greater good. He tried to kill Dooku. I don't see that as dark side because Vader will go on to kill untold innocents and obi knows it. Part of the jedi order is the extermination of the Sith.

He has no emotional attachment to either of them. Anakin was his brother. It was all in the tears.

I loved it. When Vader said “I did” my heart kind of sank. It was so sinister and tragic, felt like Mustafar all over again, like every bit of Anakin really is/was gone. Just in general the scenes with Vader in this series are almost terrifying. It was like watching them as a kid and being low key scared of the Vader scenes all over again. And the way he screams Obi-Wan at the end… 😭

I think this was the best episode by far. They worked out a lot of the weird production things and script, even the choreography seemed to be better (although some bizarre stuff still lingering), but still feels weird how some edits and obvious low quality scenes were left in the first 5 episodes.

I always wondered how Leia knew Obi-Wan by name and that he would help if she asked. It was neat to see that little bit fleshed out.

Man what a ride. I really enjoyed that. I’m gonna be thinking about that last exchange with Vader and Obi-Wan for a while.

Yes that was realizing anakin was gone. He said that, leaving nothing but a Sith lord in front of him that will go on to continue his mass murdering and grow stronger because of another defeat. The Sith thrive off of revenge so obi increased the power of an already massive threat to the galaxy

Obi-wan’s mercy led to Palpatine’s end…well until JJ and Rian Johnson fucked that up, but in the end he was vindicated in that Luke finally got to Vader when Vader could get to Palpatine. Did he know that at the time? Was that why he did it? No but the l…force works in mysterious ways
