Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
is today the day Hassan will be redeemed

ehhhhhhhhh

If it was meant for SH, the Hassan experiment failed pretty spectacularly.

Hassan's thing was supposed to be a teaser for Silent Hill. Konami just straight up foregoed all ambiguity and just said fuck it, tune in we're talking about Silent HIll.

Your daily idiot post from ResetERA, circa poster SplitYourInfinites...

Guess it's disappointing Sony stepped in to help fund the very existence of the game, I guess. The games wouldn't be happening without them stepping in to help with funding.
We have gone almost 2 console gens now without a proper mainline SH game, and some would argue the last true good one was with 3. Especially when survival horror received a major resurgence (since that P.T. demo), probably more than it ever has with Indies and the like, then there is Capcom with RE.

It's safe to say one of the big platform holders would have to step up to move that Konami needle.

I mean, look how they were cancelling SH projects.

I would not be surprised if Sony Pictures is doing the movie(s) as well since they did the original.

It's not easy being a fan of something sometimes. Because I actually recall feeling quite sad back in March there. At the time, that was exactly 10 years since Downpour was released. It was soul crushing.

I kept thinking that it's really been a decade since the last full game, not counting any demos or that PS Vita garbage, which was, uh. I cannot even find the words to sum up how lame that truly was. Konami has to care, right?

Then wow. We get this shocker pulled on us this week. :D

Thank God.

Same for Metal Gear fans as well really, imagine ending on Survive and then no more MGS at all despite that incredible Fox Engine

Any chance Silent Hill F/5 is actually KojiPro?

The picture of him and Herman recently was oddly familiar to one right before a new Death Stranding trailer was shown.

Makes sense the old Team Silent guys could just be adding to and overseeing Silent Hill 2 remake and having their names on it will lessen the heat on Bloober.

I'm a massive Silent Hill fan, especially the original 3 games. This is all very exciting news and I am hoping they don't fuck this up... especially Silent Hill 2 remake. That game is one of my fav games of all time. It really does need to be treated with a heap of love and affection.

It won't. Not because they wouldn't try...it is just impossible.

Guilty pleasure admission: I actually kinda like the Silent Hill films. I think they captured the games better than the RE films (particularly anything after the first one) did with those games...

...although the Alice RE films are another guilty pleasure. But yeah, pretty much zero chance new SH games would be coming if one of the Big 3 didn't step in and naturally that'd be Sony considering the history of the IP with their platforms.

TBH I think this SH2 remake is going to be a lot better than some are willing to consider; The Medium keeps getting brought up a lot as the reason for worry but it's actual Team Silent members writing the script, story, and dialog for this remake. That's the biggest issue with The Medium, eliminated. I just hope walking animations into walls don't look like a PS2 game, otherwise the writing and visuals should be really good.

If it's developed by Team Silent I doubt it

For example, have you seen the new Monkey Island made by the original creator? It's watered down for the lowest common denominator.

After playing it I honestly thought I accidently put it on easy puzzle mode.

Point being. Corp is is going to corp and they want any game to sale as much as possible. So dont be shocked when the new Team Silent Hill game makes it "easier" or "more combat focus". etc.

Nope, all 4 game teams are different. SH belongs to Konami, not SONY so Kojima can wish all he wants but how things ended with him its safe to say Konami wouldn't let him touch anything of theirs even with a stick.

Not to burst anyones bubble but.....Kojima has nothing to do with these SH announcements, you can finally lay your conspiracy theories to rest.
Of course not, it's his Turkish-Dutch clone made with inferior genes that helms the development of the new Silent Hill.

It all started 30 years ago during the end of the Cold War when Hideo Kojima was contacted by a secret paramilitary organisation ShittyDev..

Why is Sony so "silent" about this announcement when they are directly involved? Not even a tweet? They are hosting the RE showcase tomorrow too.

It's not first party games mate, I mean what are you expecting exactly? A 1 year exclusive on one game is probably the best you'll get.
