So anyone excited for the new movie? Was it me or does it look like it’s almost a sequel to the first film and they are ignoring the sequel?
Yes, I am! To be honest, it was the most exciting part of the transmission. Hearing the director and how he actually gets the game gives me hope.

The original Silent Hill movie was excellent in its atmosphere and very true to the games. This will be Silent Hill 2 the movie by a guy that gets the vibe. The problem are the suits and money.

Yea I agree. The 2nd film I think I only watched once. Funnily enough i have it on Blu ray so might give it another watch soon. I did see the first film multiple times. I liked the atmosphere too. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but as a fan I was happy enough. Will be interesting to see his take on silent hill 2.

this guy !!
piggybacking off of the successful reveal of SH to generate interest in his own show.
he does it every year and fails to deliver because there's nothing to deliver.
at this point, the only way he can redeem himself is by getting Kojima to reveal a [VR] SH/FATAL FRAME of his own

on that note, although improbable, Konami might have agreed to a KojiPro-developed SH through Sony as a liaison which could explain its absence during the show
as it is being saved for Sony's showcase. Also, Konami do not wish to be seen with Kojima after getting booed and publicly ridiculed so many times because of him
if Keighley indeed has such an ace up his sleeve then this TGA might be worth the watch

I have a feeling they could be saving “the big one” for some kind of game event or showcase.

I doubt that it will be at TGA if it’s Kojima. Most rumors said that that game would be Sony funded and Sony always only give Geoff something very small and keep the big things for their own shows…

Pointing the things people make on their mind to try to convince other people about their views is not crying.
Notice that I never questioned this being a PlayStation exclusive.

That comment was only trying to point out the hypocrisy of all the posters who say Sony involvement in developing third party games is bigger than it is and that's the reason why it's fair to make them exclusive.
There are hypocrite everywhere, Sony fans, MS fans, or Nintendo fans (Not Stadia fans tho cause they have to exist to begin with)

If someone is denying this it make him him hypocrite himself.

But anyway, for exclusive deals it can be many things, and all type of support, it can be helping in developpement (like Xdev with Legend of Ronin), or it could be stuffs we don't know about, like sending and giving material for the devs (mocap material, or other stuffs), or it can be just giving some money to assure the exclusive (time or permanent), like Nintendo did with MH rise or MS did with Rise or TR.

I believe that this is the one from the prominent Japanese developer (since tge text is in Japanese / perhaps even Kojima)

That game might be Sony funded as some rumors said and if that’s the case it’s likely Sony is saving this one for one of their own events…
Yep, I think there's another SH game in the works. Dusk Golem claims not everything was shown (and he was SPOT ON with every single leak more than half a year ago). Masahiro Ito also stated on twitter that "of the titles shown today" he only worked on Silent Hill 2. Weird wording. You don't bring back Ito to just have him work on a remake. Akira is back, and he made the soundtrack for the remake and SHfs remixed version of the main theme.

It's also worth noting though, that this leaked title was also tied to some weird SMS function. It's possible that it's the Ascension experience we saw with all the people texting.

Wait a minute, we at least know SH2 is a great game (some have reservations with Bloober but I'm fairly confident they'll do it justice). The new game though we've seen nothing but a pre-rendered trailer so not sure why you're giving that a shot over the other titles.
Bloober team is garbage, I've given them several opportunities to impress me, and could easily make the game worse. An over the shoulder the camera, the character designs, art direction, and voice work is already less appealing to me than the original. Yamaoka and Ito are involved but that doesn't necessarily mean much. Sakamoto was involved with MS's two Metroid games and they still turned out shitty not to mention all the later terrible SH games Yamaoka was involved with.

Gans royally fucked up his first SH film and I have no faith in him doing better with SH2.

SHf could go a lot of ways but at least it won't be an inferior version of a classic and could be a great horror game even if it ends up not being a good SH game. My only concern with it at the moment is that it seems like it might end up as more of a narrative experience than a full classic survival horror game with the staff involved.

As for the other stuff townfall sounds like its just going to ape SH2 again and some weird twitch streamer bait title doesn't do anything for me especially with the people involved.

Well, I had hope in my heart for Silent Hill: Townfall until I seen this other game that the same group worked on called Stories Untold, where all you do is look at text on a screen. If that's what's in store, then nah. It's a hard pass.

But Ascension is from American companies, if it’s this it makes not much sense why these messages are in Japanese, if it’s development stuff leaked, it should be in English. Also Ascension is a series, so it’s hard to imagine watching something where someone goes around and reading documents.
