What are we thinking this game is going to review like? I could see it being a 90 or a 79, im not sure the studio seems shaky and a bit unproven, but the production and trailers look really good. Like, this could be the better more fresh dead space game we get between the two releasing.

After the first reveal I was so hyped, but the more I see of it, the less excited I am.

I’m guessing 75.

80's is my bet. No idea if it will be high 80's or low 80's, can go either way.

Really really hoping this turns out to be good though.

Latest trailer made it look better than ever. They seemed to have toned down the motion blur a lot which was annoying me a bit.

What time is it?
I'm going to guess upper 70s. I finally watched some footage and I REALLY hate the horizontal health HUD on the back of the protagonists neck. It just looks silly and feels creatively bankrupt.

Low 80s is my guess. Good first effort held back by being too derivative and lacking polish in spots.

only idiots care about "critics" scores. "OH NOT ITS AT 7 IT MUST BE SHIT" Jesus Fuck.
True, i'm playing Phoenix Point atm and it has 74 on MC but to me the game is 90 (admittedly with Terror from the Void mod but still)
To me 70+ games you can add 15-18 points if you are a fan of the genre or series.

Idk, but I recently saw a video of Schofield talking about the game and answering some questions about game dev in general and honestly, the guy sounds like he knows what he's doing and has a ton of passion for it. The only thing I'm worried about at this point is that it could be a technical mess at launch so fingers crossed that it won't be.

Don’t really care about numbers, numbers alone tells nothing about the game itself.
There's a difference between not caring about numbers and using numbers to gauge a consensus.

If you understand statistics and analysation, you will find review score data is still helpful with the right amount of contribution. For example, Ragnarok scored an average of 94 over 120+ critic reviews. 120+ reviews is a large number made up of different opinions from 'mostly' credible sources, that data would tell you that the average gamer is more likely to like it then not like it. You can use that to guage risk if you are on the fence about buying a game you are interested in. Obviously, there are other factors like personal preference of the type of game, theme etc. And you can take whatever information you want to form your opinion, that is up to you and your opinion, but to say numbers say nothing about a game at all is simply not true.

To get an average of 77 would definitely be considered to be a failed game.

I think it will come down to story and execution (gameplay). I think the launch trailer just released looks a lot better than anything else we've seen before but trailers are nothing to go by.

I doubt it will be something huge. But i don't really know. To pick a large spot i'd say between 75 and 85, not more than that. For a precise guess let's say 81.

I'll play it on day one anyway, despite the many reserves i have with this game, gotta support this kind of new IP popping out lately.

But most of the time it just doesn't work for me, Horizon got bunch high score reviews but I didn't liked the game AT ALL and with RDR2 that got bunch 10/10 but it went too far to simulation gameplay for my taste, others might like that but I dont.

Most of the time I trust my own taste more than metacritic scores and so far it served me well.

Should be 90+, but more likely 80s. Good horror games don't do well with the general public. They get lesser scores and get snubbed at GOTY awards.

So must be.

It's when they say Onnechanbara's games are bad, I like them.

The scores are the least of my worries.

80-84...Will be a solid experience that does little to improve or push the typical game design conventions forward but will be a fun experience to play once. Hope I'm wrong and its as impactful as dead space was when it dropped. But I'm keeping my expectations low.

Its gotta be a high 80's at least. Clearly got high production values and I believe its gonna be as close to the true Dead Space 2 that Schofield wanted to make as he can. I just hope it has decent replay value.

The production quality looks insane on this. Only concern I have right now is if there will be environmental and enemy variety.

And that's fine, it's not fool proof. Obviously, it does not work for you.

FWIW I didn't like Horizon at all either. It's soo boring and I can't even figure out why considering I forced myself to play 10+ hours and tried so hard to like the game but its just shit to me.
