PSVR2 | Review Thread

I don’t find value in arguing about this. Time will tell.

You're saying Sony should spend exclusive money to help facilitate the creation of Fortnite, Apex, and COD on PSVR2, something Sony won't do outside of VR for the PS5. In the VR industry, which would doesn't have the software buying rate for a ROI.

That's an incredibly insane risk and proposition.

You're assuming this cost is super high. Not sure why you're assuming that.

Okay I'm ready to see your tech market analyst degree. Get a picture of your crystal ball, while you're at it.

For the best, definitively NOT a negative point, what's wrong with them.

Halo system is the most confortable system ever, don't know what they expecting ? A face strap Quest system ultra uncomfortable after 20 minutes of hot sweat ?
I know right? It’s just headphone complaint is hypocritical as F. I just know for a 100% it’s the same people that complain about the DS batteries not being replaceable. And now something is easily replaceable and it’s bad. People are just hating on PSVR2 because it’s the best, backed by the best gaming company in the world. Popular and good things somehow attract a lot of hating for stupid reasons.

It's just so much clearer now.

On my radar solely for GT7. But I want to try it first before taking the plunge. A lot of moula for one game I play relatively casually when I could put that cash towards new tires on my real track car.

Which has nothing to do with Sony going to top developers running some of the most popular games in the industry to develop VR exclusives in a market with bad software sales, something they have not even done for the PS5.

let's not be disingenuous.

I don’t find value in this argument.

Probably because the source I was responding to also didn't have much value.

Epic and Activision are going to split their resources for PSVR2 development and exclusivity in the VR market, which already doesn't have many games selling even over 1 million copies, for a...discount? That's not high price for low ROI?

Because?

Well the best vr games are simple looking like beat saber, job sim, super hot ect…. Doesn’t take something much more powerful then a switch to run them well. The freedom from wires is the thing that makes vr great. Well unless u just sitting in a chair…. But is that real vr?

I don't understand, from where is supposed to come the sound?
You get separate earbuds with the psvr2 so you can connect/use those or choose any other headphones/earbuds you like. I’ll use my Pulse 3D but reviews say that the earbuds that come with the psvr2 are reasonably good, so it’s nice with the included items, you can elevate the sound scape with additional hardware.

Sadly, those games are handwaved as "demos". Or "experiences".

When an indie game is vr, it instantly becomes not a real game. Don't look at me. I didn't make the internet moron rules.

Yeah sure, that's it. Not everyone here wants to play pretend arm-chair analyst and debate what a company like Sony should be doing and then going on and on to defend our opinion. I'm glad you enjoy it but that shit is for the birds far as I'm concerned. I'm perfectly fine with holding an opinion and then not spending my time defending it.

Which is what you did by suggesting Sony "was silly" to not just bring as you say "suitcases" of money to Epic, Activision, and EA to facilitate VR developed versions of COD, Apex, and Fortnite exclusive to PVR2, to help move headset sales.

But now you're trying to accuse ME of being an armchair analyst?

then going on and on to defend our opinion.

This seems more of a case of you being unable to defend your statement when logical scrutiny is raised, and then trying to attack reasonable criticism to your theory.

If you feel that Sony can just "do" that and they are "silly" not to that's fine, but i don't see what's wrong with me pointing out that it may not be worth it to the studios. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah what a silly idea it was for me to say that. A company that already pays for dev costs for exclusive games should pay for dev costs for more exclusive games, which crazy as that sounds would sell more systems. The fact that you felt the need to try and argue against that point is the mind numbing part to me, and to be fair doesn't really warrant the kind of response from me where I take time to tell you why you are wrong. It's already a proven strategy.

From 3 of gaming top companies, that they don't do for the PS5, for the VR market which isn't known for great software sales. Ignoring ROI and what's needed for the parties to make money and the likely high asking price.

But anyway you have already expressed your view, you not just giving a straightforward reasonable response is mind numbing to me. but to be fair you not supporting your own statements is already a proven strategy.

I have a HTC VIve Pro headset, and whilst it was awesome 3 years ago, I can't stomach the screen door effect any more after playing on my C9 OLED. PSVR2 seems like a headset that can hold me over till something like the Index 2 comes out, the only downside is that it has no PC compatibility (mods will hopefully fix that). Hmm might take the plunge and sell off the Vives and get PSVR2, or will wait till people make it compatible with PC.. hmmm 🤔

Even though I've had PSVR1 and I really want a PSVR2 I understand why everyone is saying its all about the games.

For my taste all VR games I played were mediocore at best.

So I really hope sony will support this VR Gen way more then the first one. They should create some vr features or spinoffs from every first party game/studio.

The TLOU Universe would be especially great for a VR Spinoff, Spiderman less so.
Even a God of War VR Title could be great slashing and tearing apart foes in vr.

I guess though VR will only be convincing and really good once you add these omnidirectional treadmills on top, otherwise its always gonna feel weird moving around in VR.

Ar least that my experience/opinion so far.
