In terms of AA or AAA bangers? Not really lately. Hi-Fi Rush is an exception, but it feels like the kind of small title (Vampire Survivors, Tunic) that Gamepass already has lots of.

We're playing an alternative history dystopian game, I would be more worried if it didnt depict those ideas. Love the "fish out of water" feeling these types of games give, the more weird ideas the more interesting it is to me. Its a game, I dont need to agree with it to experience how it would be to live in their shoes.

The first hour is absolutely phenomenal. I think I am more impressed than by Bioshock 1 or Infinite.
On PC gamepass I can select russian (and play in it, in fact). Weird it would not be possible on console.
It is a note about general trend I notice, where these AAA super polished games usually get very high (85+) scores in western press, while central/eastern european games get lower scores despite (me personally) finding them more creative and interesting.
But I do not want to get into some protracted argument about quality of those games, plus it is OT, so I suggest let it go.

It's a pretty common historical fiction. What if the confederacy won? What if the Nazis won? Etc. The whole point is that it's a dark and dystopian failure. Bioshock is what if Ann Rand won? This shouldn't have to be explained honestly. Everyone knows this. Bioshock Infinite is American Exceptionalism on steroids.

Im running it on a 4090 like you would...It has some of the UE Stutter(Nowhere near as much as the dev build that leaked...I tried that too) but its in there.
Now mind you my PC Gamepass version just got an update that I didn't have this morning, and now its pre-compiling the shaders upon launch. So ill try it again here and see if thats been fixed.
i'll post a screen of the pc settings menu for you if no one else does, gimme a sec

I'll be honest, though, if it's actually pro-Russian, that's not for me, either. If it's tongue-in-cheek nationalism, that sounds fun.
But Russia is a failed, murderous state so...eh. No issue trying it out, but I can see that grating on me unless the gameplay is S-Tier.

I haven't played it yet. But it seems to be Soviet Russia wins and becomes the dominant superpower technologically. And then following their ideals leads to a robotic hellscape ending in death and destruction and the complete implosion of the society.

Has Frame Gen by the way if youre on a 40xx card.
Something im really curious about is the game doesnt display ray tracing settings anymore.
But the Dev Build had the ability to switch to DX12 and enable ray tracing...all of those types are settings are missing now:

I think so, and I think that it is much more subtle than the Hogwarts Legacy drama. Not surprised about the writing or technical issues, though, slavjank is a meme for a reason.
Cant afford it day 1 since I spent all my money on plumbing supplies, but I'll buy it as soon as I can.

Yeah im playing the gamepass version now that they've released the patch and im sure the reviewers didnt get to play this version either. The intro area alone had huge stutters and now its near perfect
And yeah they removed the ray tracing settings...also some changed direction with certain assets an such(Like the floating video screen when the guy calls you in the intro..the design of the device and screen looked way better on the dev build etc)
It looks absolutely amazing tho, no more stutter when this area had them plenty. I can stream some if people want...The reflections are super toned down in this version too, that elevator looked amazing before, now its flat(The guy above who posted the PS5 comparison where the PC version doesnt have the reflection is showing what I mean)

Doubt the game doesnt come with RT. It was heavily marketed by nvidia. Must be a patch error. They'll prolly hotfix it.

it's not so unusual...A Plague Tale: Requiem RT was also heavily marketed by Nvidia and didn't launch with RT...it took a few months for them to release a patch that activated RT

Since you specified pc gamepass, is it something you do outside of the game or in the ingame options? Like do i have the option inside the game on the steam version?

Its not in there when it was in the dev build. Dev build had Ray tracing settings...but it didn't have DLSS3. The fully released and patch version has no ray tracing settings - but it does have DLSS3 lol

Gameplay is cool, setting is cool, performance has been stable, RT and graphics are really nice. Main character has hilariously bad dialogue.
The only thing people are defending is reviewers doing what they tried to do with Hogwart's, which is neg the game based on their bullshit agendas instead of the actual content of the game.

From what I can gather so far it's Bioshock if Russia had won WW2. I get the current events would make people not want to play it, but it's no different to me than other alt-history media.

Yes it's 60 FPS on the modern consoles, and I don't think there is a day 1 patch so the version you've got is the latest.
