It's not the end of the world but why can't anything smooth happen for Microsoft recently. They should've held this game till everything was ready.

Critics should do this. And update their score for GAAS titles.

Titles like Sea of Thieves would eventually break 11/10 barrier.

I im not interested in this game- but from what ive read, its eventually coming.
Unfortunately not right out the gate- but its coming. So makes sense from their standpoint to include on the box and release the update as soon as possible.

It’s quite brutal that forever updated games stay like their launch state on Metacritic, but it’s also fair because giving a game a high score because a dev promise to fix a broken game in an late patch is why everything launch broken now.

Give games a low score until it’s patched. Then update the score.
I guarantee that would make publishers think twice about launching games too early then, they know a low score can completely ruin a launch and first couple weeks are the most important weeks for a new game.

Critics should work for the consumers, tell them if a game is worth buying, right now I feel like they work for the publishers as a way to increase hype.

Still selling a product with a tag, which is not immediately available when consumers buy them. The sticker is put up by the retailer but not Microsoft, if i understand correctly.

Totaly agree oldergamer oldergamer a complete nothingburger really. It really kills the dream for people saying the future 60fps mode was just a marketing ploy that wasn't really happening though.

Nah, fuck that. Not paying for unfinished games anymore. If 60 fps on consoles wasn’t gonna be there at launch then they shouldnt have advertised it that way. Games cost 70 dollars, releasing in an unfinished state is unacceptable. Same reason i wont be buying jedi survivor til its actually finished

They haven't released a AAA game in a year and a half. I imagine they're being told to get games out or heads will roll.

Poor Arkane. Seems they are thrown under the bus because of shit management. If the game is rushed out the door unfinished, and the game bombs with mediocre score, the studios reputation will take a huge hit.

So how was MS ever going to manage 10s of thousands of employees of ABK if it was allowed by the regulators? They can't even manage what they have now.

I mean, it makes sense, by the time they realized 60fps day one wasn't a thing it was too late as all of the artwork and printing was already submitted. It happens. At LEAST there's a sticker, or it'd be a much larger issue claiming one thing when the truth is the other.

If you're really that invested in the game and 60fps, just wait.

Yep, then having the fucking gull to launch it unfinished into what was essentially early access. Shit management all around at xbox, there is a reason they are the laughing stock of this industry right now.

I agree, if a game is unfinished at launch it should be reviewed that way. Scores shouldnt be updated though, if you want to teach them a lesson, let those low scores forever scar the game. That will teach them a hard lesson about launching unfinished

Eventually? It will be 60FPS+ for capable PCs day 1. Xbox management clearly provides options for gamers of all budgets.
