No, I don't want a console manufacturer that begrudges consoles and doesn't understand or care to understand how to make good games, and wants to turn this industry into a subscription/cloud service mess to succeed. Sue me.

Sites like xboxera intentionally inflating these scores for xbox is actually hurting the brand more than helping. They are deceiving the folks that actually check meta scores. Not only that, they are telling ms/Bethesda it’s ok to release below mediocre/buggy games like this meanwhile charging $15 a month for GPU or $70 full price. They should ask them to “do better”.

It is, been playing for the last four hours or so now. I swear it shows the limitations of the switch in full force but also the prowess of Nintendos devs. I cannot believe some of this is running on a switch.

Yeah, the funniest part about the hype leading up to this game was people making reference to Arkane's "prestige in immersive sims". How Redfall was totally "an immersive sim through and through bro, trust me it's Far Cry, not 3rd rate Back4Blood." Puh-lease. These guys wouldn't know a Looking Glass game if it was gained sentience and installed itself into their machines.
imo Arkane never made a good game, Dishonored and Prey was they best shot and those game were OK at best.

i still love my li'l series s, but, yeah, it's eerie how quickly game pass's managed to devolve into this. again, i say starfield will be tha game that decides how viable the 'netfix for games' model really is - can the large expenditure invested in a triple-a title earn a return on that investment...

You know it's bad when even Colt Eastwood is struggling to be positive.
Having watched a few of the reviews so far, it kinda seems like the game would be a solid 7/10 if:
1) there were no bugs
2) it was 60fps at launch
3) the gunplay and camera/weapon movement were much smoother
4) there was less motion blur when you move the camera
ie, not amazing but possibly fun enough to play for a while.
Besides, even the jankiest games can be fun in co-op so if they just fixed the above issues they could have received much better reviews.

If you get a PS5 before the 9th of May, you can claim the 19 games in the PS Plus Collection. Especially if you missed them on PS4, or if you would like to play a lot of them with improvements on PS5, there are definitely some good games here.

What the hell are you talking about? People are already playing it at 60fps on PC and the verdict is still the same.
At this rate you'll be lucky if they even bother with a 60fps patch for Xbox consoles.

Nah, too soon for that. Deathloop began before the MS aquisition and that game had bad shooting, overtly obvious puzzles and braindead AI.
The founder/president left shortly after Prey wrapped.

Not denying I wasn't doing my share of trolling but I kept it to a minimum here lol.
Anyway, I'm probably gonna hold back on the game until it gets the performance patch. First person games in 30 FPS with motion blur are not kosher to me and there's a lot of other stuff to tide over.
Launch window bugs will be fixed in the first couple of patches, that's pretty much par for course for almost every game releasing these days.

Don't spend a second polishing it much further. There's no use in polishing a turd.
Have them go back to what they are good at pronto. I fear Suicide Squad is going to be in the same fate but they're just going to waste another year trying to make Fetch a thing when it's never going to happen. I want them to go make another Batman game.
FFS, I do not understand these guys managing studios that make totally ridiculous decisions. Avengers. Gotham Knights. Redfall. Suicide Squad. How many examples of this shit do we need? These used to be good studios that made good games. These studio execs just got greedy AF.

Looked at some early Series S gameplay on Youtube. Game looks like it's using low graphics preset at a reconstructed 1080p image. Doesn't even get screen space reflections on the S. No reflections on anything as far as I can tell.
Very rough... and imagining that there's more Xbox users with S than X, is this really the experience that people want for a "next gen console". Holy moly. I'm the same, have XSX, PS5 and 3080 gaming PC. Series X collects the most dust but it is a beast of a console with lacklustre content. PS5 is the most premium experience, putting games aside, the controller alone is great, and the UI just feels more alive to me. It seems Xbox thought giving people access to more games with Gamepass was better than having AAA exclusives. We all know how that is turning out. Sony still selling PS5's like hot cakes.

The concept of Redfall just isn't very appealing. A delay wouldn't have helped it.
Starfield on the other hand? Has a lot of potential appeal. But it can't be another Cyberpunk situation. Needs a delay to make a strong first impression

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH PUTTING ACHIEVEMENTS THAT HAVE A POINT VALUE THAT DOES NOT END IN A 5 OR 0!!!! I just unlocked an achievement that was worth 17 MOTHERFUCKING POINTS! For real, it's some god damn bullshit. Who thinks that is a good idea? Now I have a God damn 2 at the end of my score and will have to literally hunt for an achievement that can get me back to a number that ends in 5 or 0. I feel bad for wasting the coal that burned to power the server to host this good forsaken piece of shit game.

The game was already given a full calendar year extension from its original summer '22 launch.
If they push it 'early' that's an issue, if they delay it again, that'd have been an issue.
What would you have done in this case?
