I'm totally fine with the show, I guess people who are disappointed are those who care more about first party game.

MGS3 Remake, Dragon Dogma 2, RE4VR2, Alan Wake 2, FF16, Phantom Blade, New AC, Arizona Sunshine 2, and Lastly Spiderman seems good enough

There are also some other third party games looks pretty interesting too, like that Kena clone

NGL I hope Starfield comes out impressive because Sony has nothing. I'm not feeling spiderman 2 at all, already cringing at the thought of having Morales' annoying fat friend on comms during missions, nevermind the fact that miles is already annoying.

Im interested in

MGS3 + collection: day 1
Alan Wick 2
AC Mirage
Helldivers 2
Dragons Dogma 2
Arizona Sunshine 2
Re 4 VR

Sony's got nothing. This time last gen we had more games it feels like.

Do all of the games in this showcase release in 2023?

Anyway, thank God for Dragons Dogma 2 and Alan Wake 2. Excited for those games. Spiderman 2 looked rough, admittedly only 1080p on my 65 inch OLED.

Apart from that, I'm disappointed. It's like they said "haha, we don't even have to try to beat Microsoft!" and then proceeded not to try.

I mean, what was that stupid cat pirate game even? Purrates of the Purribean?

To be honest if Sony doesn't have the goods anymore then Nintendo is in a position to absolutely dominate the industry with Switch 2.
Absolutely. Gameplay is king and they have set the bar over and over. Regarding TOTK the sense of wonder, exploration and making the user feel like the centre of things is unmatched.

Absolutely underwhelmed tonight, and this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly enjoy Sony's 1st party titles but never the less looks forward to good videogames. The only thing that Sony had tonight was better third party support, which is a given with their 70% market share.

Seems like they have shot their load so to speak early on in the gen and now find themselves in the same spot as xbox a couple of years ago. High end Games are taking 4-8 years to release now so, what one a generation at best? The next Horizon is 5 years away and likely a cross gen title, the next ND game longer. Thats why the pivot to GAAS. The current GT wont last beyond this gen and Poly are notorious for taking there time..............

Platforms are dead within this gen or next imo, its not sustainable

Expected waaay more first party stuff. Kinda disappointed really. Metal Gear Collection looks good! Spidy moving so fast through the map shows the SSD power. Right now sitting around 6.5/10 for me.

5/10 show. Super disappointing…so what first-party showed up in total? Just Marathon cgi trailer and Spider-Man 2? I’m playing Spider-Man remastered at the moment and granted I was watching the show in 1080p, but to me Spider-Man 2 looks barely better than the first one. Traversal through the city looks faster, I guess that’s a plus.

It’s hard to believe none of the other first-party studios had something to show yet. I can’t believe Naughty Dog is still not ready to show Factions. It’s certainly not coming out this year I’d imagine.

There were some good announcements like Dragon’s Dogma II and Alan Wake II, but the whole show was carried by third-parties. PlayStation studios were pretty much nonexistent.

I honestly cant believe what im watching. This is worst than anything Philbo has ever given us. If this is the future of playstation then i want nothing to do with it. If this is the future of gaming then im clearly not the target demographic.

They said millenials spend more time and money on video games than gen z and gen x. And yet this trash is clearly not aimed at me. This is all indie trash or fornite nonsense. WTF. One game after another.

Now a minecraft game. Im done.

I'm legit getting scared for the video game industry. They have lost their damn minds! I think they hate us.

As I expected, I was afraid this showcase was being overhyped through the roof and everyone else fell for it. Why do you people even trust insiders?

This was the worst PlayStation showing I remember. It just confirmed my doubts about Jim Ryan and Hermen Hulst. Ever since Japan Studios went under, I was afraid of a decline. Zelda TotK is released on a 2017 mobile handheld and is running circles around these games. I'm embarrassed for the industry. Even games like DecaPolice, I'm more excited for than most what was shown here. The desperate copy of Splatoon says it all.

This is definitely a first world problem, but I am also depressed about how creatively bankrupt gaming has become. I'm going full Slimysnake!

God bless to whichever mod allowed S for Shit as a Poll Response. I legit thought about it in my poll thread but i didnt want to risk a ban. Glad to see even mods realize how awful this was. I feel at home on this board.

Same. I think if you wanted a Sony 1st party project showcase I can see why people are disappointed. But if you wanted a game showcase hosted by Sony then I'd say the eating was good.

All in all decent show it gets a C from me.

Hell Divers II: looked good and gave me a starship troopers vibe.
Phantom Blade 0: Combat looked fun like Sekiro
Alan Wake 2: not sure about this one
Dragon's Dogma 2: Best reveal to me looked awesome
Final Fantasy XVI: Looks better every time they show it loved the dark tone of the trailer
Spiderman 2: Will watch a 4k trailer before saying anything
Snake Eater: where's the gameplay?

I mean, are they keeping things under the hood for Geoff Keighley?

Do they really have nothing else to show from first party studios at this point?

Weird.

C just because Dragon Dogma 2 and a good amount of 3rd party games im looking forward. But the major Sony Studios like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Sucker Punch and many others being a no show, made this showcase pretty disappointing. Also too many "Not actual Gameplay" trailers.

Yup, I don't really care if its first party or not, as long as the game look interesting, I'm sold

I gave it a c, it was alright but we only get like one of these a year, they needed to bring the heat but instead all we got was smoldering ashe.
Highlights:
That samurai game
That squire game
And Spiderman
Also.Dragons dogma 2

bender

What time is it?
Interested in:

Dragon's Dogma II
Alan Wake 2
Street Fighter VI
Final Fantasy XVI
Spider Man
Teardown
Talos Principle 2
Tower of Fantasy
MGS3
MGS Collection
Marathon
Sword of Sea
Phantom Blade

Seemed like a solid show to me.

My thoughts:

- Forget the name, lulz, but that samurai gritty looking animu x Ghost of Sekiro Gaiden shit was probably trailer of the show for me. Sick looking shit.

- Final Fantasy XVI looks good. Which we already knew.

- Assassin's Creed: Mirage looks like an AC game, and the gameplay seems...like an AC game. It also seems boring as shit, which is why the story hasn't been focused on in any of these trailers beyond VAGUE CRYPTIC DESTINY AND SHADOWS nonsense from the Quarian chick.

- Snake Eater! The one big known-quantity announcement of the show! ...that got leaked three separate times just to really hammer home the fact that "Yes, THIS rumor is actually true!" So exciting. Beyond that, I have no faith in MGS without Kojima, and a CG trailer with no dialogue and no new music and a COMING TO PLAYSTATION 5 is just....ehhhhh??? Also, closing the trailer on Big Boss, who stares at the camera silently for an awkward amount of time....just tells me that they should have saved this one until they got their VA to let out a "Kept you waiting, huh?"

- Multiplayer, indie and VR stuff out the ass. If you're into that, cool. I'm uh....not So much.

Weak sauce Sony

Calling up Kretos as we speak

Even though it was lacking first party games it was solid in my opinion.
Lots of cool games like Neva, Tower of Aghasta, Alan Wake or phantom blade were shown.
FFXVI is one of my most wanted games of the year but I could have done without yet another trailer.
No MGS3 gameplay was disappointing. Spidey looks great but that’s not much of a surprise.

Maybe there will be a December...State of Play for the big 1st party studios?

Man I hate State of Play but I'll take it
