Its not like Souls at all and im getting fucking annoyed with EVERY Game they make "Oh its like Dark Souls in a way"

I mean even Sekiro, constantly getting compared to Souls games when they really are nothing alike.
I mean we've just seen the gameplay. You can hard lock on to an enemy unlike previous ACs. Instead of Estus flasks, you have repair kits. Enemies have endurance bars and can get staggered to give you critical hits. You can backstab enemies that haven't spotted you. And from Vaati's own video, mechanical gates that act the same as mist/fog doors...

Yeah but does that make it souls like?

Does it have interconnected world? Story is laid out in item descrips?

You don't need an interconnected world nor a story that's told in riddles to be Souls-like. You just ignored everything I pointed out, while one of the most well-known people in the Souls world, made a video, after playing the game and said flat out that it was very much Souls-like.

Come on breh.
 
This is the most technically accomplished, best looking FROM game to date, them explosions, smoke/smoke trails/shadows etc...it eclipses everything they've done before.
Shit, it may not be something technically proficient as Horizon FW but, God Damn, the verticality, sand-boxy environments in conjunction with the dynamic shadows, lighting, missile smoke trails etc etc running at (almost) 60fps is a far, FAAAR cry from everything FROM has done before.
I loved the variety of the environments shown (i was afraid there were going to be industrial-like levels only) and also the fact that it seems like it's more story-driven aka "cinematic" due to the very cool camera angles/cuts before each mission etc.
OST is, once more, Godlike - i do prefer the synth-like nature of this latest game though.

Also : i don't give a fuck they Souls-ified it, the melee actually looks amazing now with proper weight and "oomph" (not to mention, animations) instead of the previous games' where you felt like you were slashing in a horizonal axis at cardboard enemies, the estus flask "repair" mechanic is also Ok with me.

Fucking GOTY contender from what was shown and i'm not even kidding, a far, far cry from the mediocrity that was AC5

There are plenty of folks on YT who have made hour long videos explaining how the game really isn't anything like a Souls game.

You don't have to watch them, but you saying it is, isn't a fact either.

Either way it doesn't really matter but it grinds my gears people saying this AC is a souls like..like jesus

and yeah that's called opinions isn't it? i think Sekiro is very souls like and this looks to be souls like too.

The more i see of this the less interested i am, reminds me of a mech version of Vanquish, but thats a 2010 game.

Obviously its more in depth with builds and mech mechanics but idk why i see the similarities

I think people say it is a souls like because it is third person, has a similar control scheme, has the estus healing mechanic and is difficult. In those senses it is similar, though when it comes to the actuality of the combat it is quite different. It felt familiar to me when I first played it because of the healing system and controls, but it also requires that you "let go" of all of your souls game tendencies.

I reckon AC6 will be like that, and I am hyped for it. I know lots of people are gonna get buttblasted about it because of the hard lock, though.

Okay, we need to stop making excuses for From, they're not a small company anymore they should be doing much better than this.

It means i've played every game in the series and this blows the doors off any of the previous entries graphics wise

I hope FROMs next game is even more removed from the souls formula just to piss the souls fanboys even more.

Well, it's basically to each their own at this point. To me, the Souls elements (that the AC Reddit certainly noticed), make it look a lot tastier and interesting than I thought before. And thanks to the insane variety in terms of customization, the PvP is going to be god-like!

Looks sick. Lots of little details in there with the mech's heat radiation, recoil, reloading, little thrusters firing for each fine movement, even how it responds to uneven terrain traversal physics. The action looks responsive and tight.

Could very well be the goat mech action game.

I have a feeling AC6 is going to end up filtering a lot of new-comers coming off of soulsborne & Elden Ring.
It’s obviously far from the most visually impressive game, but people that keep coming to FromSoftware games expecting cutting-edge visuals are just needlessly setting themselves up for disappointment. You think after the last several releases people would accept that's just not their M.O.

Well it's a cross-gen FromSoftware game.

if SM2 looks like a ps4 game, this one looks like a PS2 early PS3, jesus From.

Pretty much exactly what I waited over 10 years for.
Armored Core has always been about that nasty rundown grit and this one has it in spades. Plus the broken distorted electronic music is perfection.
Its been a while since we've had just pure action based - mission to mission gameplay - when these types of games used to be a dime a dozen - they are now a rarity.

For me the series is all about building mechs which makes these games infinitely replayable - trying completely different builds. For many other games you make a choice at the start and are stuck with it - for AC you change mission to mission.

Shame they are still using the same shitty voice actors from the past games. The script and voice performances seem 1 to 1 carried over from Armored Core V and VD (which isnt a good thing).
