Seriously, every time you're about to put down a white man, think about saying the same thing but substitute black in it's place. You guys are hypocrites on a daily basis. This video is almost an hour and a half covering many things regarding the game, not just pronoun crap. Maybe have some respect for your fellow human beings and a little introspection so you don't lose all your empathy.

This game is a solid 7/10 for me. I think the IGN reviews got it right. Maybe up to an 8 if you're a big fan of certain aspects. It's enjoyable in bursts but outside of the initial excitement I had for the title, the slow realization came to be that this is a game that really is extremely dated by modern standards. It does things....adequately, but it never manages to exceed expectations on any level.

It's not a complete disaster or anything, it's a decent title that has the luster of a large production, but it falls greatly short of many other titles. Cyberpunk got a LOT of flak for their release, and rightly so, but after the patches that game seems so much better in terms of story, characters, and gameplay to me.

7th grade? I was in college and arrived 4 hours early. I had about 20 people ahead of me for Skyrim at midnight and that line was over a block long. As for Starfield. I skipped it. It sounds like such a headache to play right now. Even the guys at my work don’t have anything good to say about the planets, traveling, and copy/paste jobs. It’s a BGS migraine and none of it sounds fun. Which thread do you even post in if you just want to vent about the stupid thing?

And yet, instead of posting your thoughts of the game in the game's OT, you decided to make an entire thread about your thoughts. Seems like an odd decision, but ok :messenger_peace:

The more you play BGS titles, the more you'll notice the flaws found in every title and with every new release of theirs, they fall further behind the technology gap of other modern titles in terms of animations, character modeling, gameplay mechanics, AI, etc.

Space doesnt mix well with bethesda game formula I think . Loading into interior , dungeon doesnt feel that tendious in Oblivion/skyrim/fallout because my brain knew there still a big , open , seamless world out there .

In this game the illusion just doenst work .

A traditional BGS game with shiny new graphics isn't going to cut it in 2026 (or whenever it launches)

I respect OP for at least putting in the time before coming to a conclusion like that, you see opinions (and even some genuine ass metacritic reviews) from people who've barely put in 3, 5 hours into massive RPGs to render final judgment.

As for me, I am around hour ~70 and enjoying my time with the game so far, while realizing its shortcomings and going in with the expectation of it being Skyrim in space.

Yeah, I just finished watching that. I thought it was very good, although also harsh. Harsh seems to be his style; if you look through his channel, you'll see that he is highly critical of most modern games. But perhaps, with all the shills, people like this are a necessary counterweight. And I thought he made a lot of good points.

BG3 and Quake 2 remaster is all we needed really.. Starfield is just a huge bonus, at least for me personally.

Also, we are still getting a new CoD!

Also he made an insanely stupid troll statement that the in-game character models look like they are from the PS2 era. I don't think this genius has ever played or seen PS2 character models. Yeah, I am 100% gonna take someone's opinion seriously after they claimed the characters look like they are from the PS2 era. He knew/knows EXACTLY what he was doing by posting another Starfield thread instead of talking about it in the OT or the review thread.

For me at least, I didn’t have high expectations. Nothing shown stood out to me gameplay wise that would set it apart from other games.

After playing what I’ve played so far, am I disappointed? No. Not really. Bethesda has their vision for the game/series so I think it’s fair to respect that at bare minimum.

At the same time, after some major letdowns in recent years like Destiny and MCC, I don’t get hyped for games like I used to.

Dude all of this is so wrong. I’m assuming you like the game a lot and distance of course and I’m not trying to detract from your enjoyment. There is no conspiracy theory or insidious motivation to my post.

The PS2 was my first console. Me and my brother would play that shit all day as kids. The PS2 comment is called a hyperbole. It can be used to viscerally illustrate someone’s point. To highlight something. I understand an Xbox series X game shipped in 2023 does not literally look like a PS2 game. I think you understand that though

I haven’t messed with any mods yet. Been jumping around from PC in my office to series X in my bedroom, don’t want to make it too confusing.

I don’t think a moderator decision negates what I said. Right now there’s a MGSV thread on the front page, and a starfield thread on the front page. Asking if it feels next gen.

Well, clearly more people than not consider your opinion the same as the 120 pages of opinions, reactions, and posts in this thread. It is not special, unique, or different. Yours wasn't a post about a game years after it came out. It wasn't a post approaching the game from different angle, asking a very specific question. It was just another "Game looks like a PS2 game" bait post. I don't have anything more meaningful to say, and your thread is gone, so I'll say goodbye here. Best of luck.

Wait more people? Based off what? Doesn’t usually one mod make this decision? How do you have access to how many people found my post unique?

At any rate it’s slightly puzzling that one line in an 8 paragraph thesis stood out to you so much. You seem to have cast me as some kind of “bait” poster and seem to relish a thread merger in a seemingly juvenile kind of way. It’s just strange behavior all around. I feel like there’s another layer, like you love the game and our disagreement is personal to you

There was no winning or losing.

The thread was merged with this one due to there already being 2 large Starfield review threads hovering on the first page or two.

The reaction thread to that one taking a jab at it was also deleted.

Normally separate personal impression or review threads are reserved for either LTTP, or once the dust has settled outside the release window and those main review topics have fallen far back and no longer in discussion.

In which they serve to spark discussion after impressions had time to settle and stew a bit.

Nothing personal, more a formality. Hope that helps.
