The Last of Us: Part II Remaster likely in Development based on ND Lead Outsourced Artist LinkedIn Profile

Add costumes and I'll buy it. Not even capping. The game lacked the "fun" element and I know Neil didn't want that but in TLOU first game which is this serious game then you have Ellie walking around with cartoony Jak and Daxter apparel... Nah. Just do it.

And this is the basic mentality I was shocked to find is so common amongst TLOU 2 players.

If TLOU 1 focused on Abby and her father's bond you wouldn't give two shits about Joel. In fact, you'd take pleasure in his demise.
Yup

There’s no good guys
There’s no bad guys

It’s a case of “whichever perspective I saw first, that’s who’s side I’m on”

That’s psych 101

There’s shades of grey, getting by, surviving, and trying your best.

And, oh yeah, one more thing:

It’s fiction. Fake. Made up. Make believe.

There’s no such thing as zombies, nor a world wide mushroom plague. So no need to fight over it.

You’re only making Druckmann win

Ugh, this console generation feels like getting a graphics card upgrade where you go back and play all your old shit at higher rez/fps.
As much as I loved TLoU2, I don't want to go through that again. Really wish they would just make something new.
Also, I played this on PS5 at 60fps, so it's not like it wasn't already an amazing experience performance-wise.

It’s honestly just an obvious given that TLOU II Remastered is a thing. Of course they’re going to make that. Who knows how freaking long their next big game will take, so need to fill out their lineup with something to keep the revenue coming in.

Calm your tits

People think that 90% of ND is remastering the game or something?

People also talked shit when Sucker Punch remastered GOT for the PS5? Or they just have a hate boner for ND?

"Remasters" like these are cheap to make and are very profitable, specially now with the TV series to boost the IP

Truth.

Then they fucking cry when no sequel is made of some Jak game, its like....did they not fucking know people need to buy the IP had have it know by millions for a sequel to be oked or?

Its like people getting mad at reruns, ohhhh so...what you are upset MORE get to see it to support its future seasons? The fuck? lol

I'll never get the dumb shit i read about people crying over remasters. Gaming is waaaay too expensive for anyone to think that having less money is some goal for any publisher and I don't even see it as a benefit to the fans to have LESS people playing the game or something.

So people have their own agendas regarding this considering Ghost Of Tsushima had that remaster literally 1 year after release and I don't recall much crying about that lol

This is a very hot take but I believe if TLOU2 never came out GOT would not be held in such high regard.

Why are they remastering this? It was like amazing but not even half a decade now? In this economy? I suppose that's it, really. Put out this patched game with minimal effort and poor people will buy it.

I agree.

I love GoT btw, but shit i like a lot of that Assassins Creed games too, I counter that hot take with this...if Ghost Of Tsushima was a Ubisoft game, many on here would not be giving it its due praise. I love both IP, but for the same reasons and I feel the hate some of the AC games get is wildly exaggerated when praise for Ghost shows people are literally celebrating the same concept, by a different team.

So I give Ubisoft's teams their due respect because its clear that influence is why we even have Ghost Of Tsushima the way we even do currently.

So is that the future of Sony 1st parties ? Remastering your games every 3 years ? Interesting (no).

I mean TLOU on PS3, PS4, PS5. TLOU2 on PS4, PS5. UC 1/2/3 on PS3, PS4. UC4 / Lost Legacy PS4, PS5. Spider-Man PS4/PS5...

It needs to fail, people need to say stop.

If they release it around the same time as the PS5 Pro then it could be a real graphical showpiece for the Pro to demonstrate what it’s capable of.

It's not just for you. It's for people who never played the games. That is the entire point of transmedia, to bring more fans to these properties.

Uncharted 1 is unplayable and desperately needs a remake. Uncharted 2 and 3 could benefit from being retouched.

By failing to bring along new generation console owners with existing franchises, they absolutely lose out when it comes to producing sequels.

It's why CDPR is remaking Witcher 1. A lot of people won't buy Witcher 3 because they don't want to start on the 3rd title. It makes more sense to start with 1. Unfortunately for them, the show's popularity has died down.

Look at the same when it comes to Resident Evil. They could have sold way more copies had they started the remakes with RE1. When RE4R came out, we didn't see a spike in sales at least a nominal one in RE2 and 3. They aren't doing enough to bring people in. Same reason why Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 will have limited success compared to what they would have if they started with Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid.

It's the reason why Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man Miles Morales are charting again because people are completionists.

God of War went about things in a smarter way, and we saw God of War get a bump when Ragnarok came out.

Naughty Dog wanted an Uncharted game for Uncharted's movie, but they didn't have the time to remake Uncharted 1. They did Uncharted 4 and LL as a result with limited results.

When Sony finds an IP to milk, they'll do it forever till every last drop is squeezed.

Look how many God of War collection packs were made years back. It's like they covered every combination. From wiki. Four collection packs in 6 years. Check out out the first 3 packs in 3 years.

God of War Collection was first released in North America on November 17, 2009, for the PlayStation 3—the franchise's first appearance on the platform. It is a remastered port of the original God of War and God of War II.[21] The games were ported by Bluepoint Games and feature high-definition 1080p anti-aliased graphics at 60 frames per second and trophies.[22] Sanzaru Games later ported the collection to the PlayStation Vita and it was released in May 2014—the franchise's only appearance on this platform.[23]

God of War: Origins Collection was first released in North America on September 13, 2011, for the PlayStation 3. It is a remastered port of the two PlayStation Portable installments in the series—Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. God of War Origins was ported by Ready at Dawn and features 1080p high-definition video, anti-aliased graphics at 60 frames per second, DualShock 3 rumble features, trophies,[24] and it is the only God of War release to feature Stereoscopic 3D.[25]

God of War Saga was released in North America on August 28, 2012. It is a collection of five of the God of War games for the PlayStation 3, released as part of Sony's PlayStation Collections line. The collection includes the original God of War, God of War II, God of War III, Chains of Olympus, and Ghost of Sparta. It features two Blu-ray Discs—God of War I and II on the first and III on the second—and a voucher to download Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. The games retain the same features as their first PS3 releases.[26][27]

God of War III Remastered was first released in North America on July 14, 2015, for the PlayStation 4—the franchise's first appearance on the platform. It is a remastered version of God of War III, and features full 1080p support targeted at 60 frames per second, a photo mode, and all downloadable content of the original. The game's announcement and release was in celebration of the franchise's tenth anniversary.[28] It was ported by Wholesale Algorithms.[29

As if the TV show isn't related to the game. If it wins an Emmy for best TV show that will drive more viewership and more people to purchase the game on PS5 and PC. It'll increase the hype for Season 2, which will increase the hype for season 1 and the part 1 remake, which will increase the hype for the Part 2 remaster.

That remake is going to continue to give them cash for probably years to come and an easy remaster of the 2nd game will do the same. Followed up by a 3rd game.

The state of Naughty Dog is strong and it is really hard to argue otherwise. Whether they're having issues with the development of one title or not.

So what you're saying is that you bought a PS5 to stream TV shows based on Sony IPs. Fascinating. 40 million consoles sold is starting to make more sense. 🤔

Or that's a strawman argument to ignore the success the studio made that has a direct impact on their games and by extension the PlayStation platform.

I bet they'll do something like a free month or 3 free months of Max when you buy a PS5 or something around the time the new season comes out.

You're the one that brought up the TV show on a gaming forum. I won't deny that ND makes high quality games but they're creatively bankrupt. The grief porn post-apocalyptic narrative was already played out when the first game released on PS3 and their they're still milking it a decade+ later. If you want to keep buying the same game go for it. I'll stick to buying questionable indie VR titles on the baller headset that Sony doesn't support. 👌

If they're creatively bankrupt and there is post-apocalytic fatigue, why was the show the biggest show in the world?

Creavitly bankrupt but they're making two new games.

You guys are making NO sense at all.

I finished TLOU 2, three times already. Even playing the remastered version of P1, I was underwhelmed. I cant for the life of me imagine why Id ever get a remaster of P2. The game literally needs a 4K patch and thats it. I really dont get what they will remaster when even the 10yr old first part was barely changed.

Damn why don't they go after the treasure trove of PS2/3 IP they have in the stable.

Give me motostorm, resistance, the original Infamous, Wipeout in VR, killzone, for starters.

I played through TLOU 1 multiple times and loved every second of it.

It's a highly immersive emotional rollercoaster and one of the best video games of all time. A true masterpiece.

I played TLOU 2 once and disliked it a lot. It's annoying pseudo-intellectual garbage and an overall depressing experience.

I don't know what went wrong during the development of TLOU 2. Maybe they got too high sniffing on their own farts.

TLOU 1 was perfect. It did not need a sequel. I hope they get over this phase as soon as possible and do something less depressing. I prefer the Uncharted Naughty Dog over the TLOU Naughty Dog.

I think you misunderstood me, I am not against remakes and remasters, I'm ALL for them, I love they remastered the FF with the Pixel collection, I love to have Metroid Prime on Switch and Mario RPG upcoming, same for Thousand Doors which costs like 200€ on NGC, I love to replay FFX/XII on PS4/Xbox, I love all of that, really, and trust me many people looked down on me for "supporting this economy".
What I don't like with what is doing Sony recently is that most of their 1st party releases are remasters/remakes of RECENT games. Let's take the exemple of Spider-Man or TLOU2. The console is back compatible, why the update of SM isn't free ? Same will go for TLOU2, the game is pretty recent, there is nothing much to "remaster", except yes maybe the loading times and a 120fps mode ? Even TLOU1 which is remade with the TLOU2 engin, why it is a 80€ game ? Why not at least having an option to update the PS4 version for like 20€, that is what I dislike.

They just exaggerate, their remakes and remasters are not even really remastered and for sure not remakes, they are just charged updates.
