Hey I understand, I too would be pissed if my prodigal son turned out to be a fraud.
I remember you being so hyped about the gif of spidey swinging through that oval structure in the park as you were commenting how things were now fully geometry. Turns out its the exact same structure in SM1 with zero geometry change.

I too would be disappointed, but I wouldn't try to cover up by making things up.
Hey I bought a PS5 on Wednesday and stayed up all night to play this game and I'm also disappointed.
I stopped after the first mission and im now on the streets with sand. The sand loooks so bad its astonishing how bad it looks compared to horizon forbidden west sand. From what i have played so far, if this wasn't a heavily marketed "sony exclusive". This game wouldn't even be talked about in graphics discussion. It won't even be top 20 graphics.

The game feels unpolished for a Sony exclusive. Not particularly because of bugs but because it feels off in both cutscenes and during setpieces. There is something missing. The character models and facial animations of both Peter and Miles look like they could use another pass. And as impressive as that setpiece was, the cutscenes didn’t feel as tightly choreographed as the first game. There is one shot where it looks stunning and i could immediately tell that more work was put into it than the rest. I will replay the intro in fidelity mode to see if I’m just imagining things but that Peter classroom entrance just looked off from the beginning.

I don’t want to say the game was rushed because this could just be the intro and maybe the rest of the cutscenes are more polished, but those MJ shots clearly show that she doesn’t look great in all scenes especially compared to those shots in the trailer.

Lmao did insomniac just straight up used the bullshot from the reveal trailer and the famous bullshot where he fly with the web wings over the city for 2 of the 3 pics in the back cover of the game?

That smoke/sand cloud looks super bad imo, just pasted in with no depth or proper lighting and shadowing interacting with it.

Agree when you play a game like Forbidden West and fly into and through the volumetric clouds/fog effects l got blown away.

When you see that sand cloud is looks terribly out of date. Insomniac need to catchup.

After the opening boss fight/area , the game does look a lots better.
The game looks fantastic during golden evening time.

More shots. I like how busy the streets feel. Drivers AI is poor, they get stuck in traffic with nothing in front of them and just stay there.

Imagine coming into a graphical fidelity thread and ONLY posting the flaws you see. There are plenty of moments where this game looks great. Where are those shots?

I can find flaws in ANY game.

I can excuse poor npc character models in a game that has hundreds of them. I can excuse low res textures on npcs. What i can’t excuse is how ugly insomniacs is making every woman in the game.

Reporters don’t look this ugly in real life because they need to be pretty to look good on TV. Most of the reporters come from beauty pageants and modeling backgrounds. The ugly ones do the actual journalism behind desks because no one wants to see purple hair on TV.

Nothing screams next-gen more than installing a game from a spinning disc. Also, this is stupid. What's the point of having reversible cover art if you're gonna ruin it with a fucking white box informing me that you cheapen out on plastic and used recycled garbage instead. So stupid!

Forza literally had one job and it got beaten by a game where you can't even drive cars. Also the reflections in general are way better than Forza's RT ones
Wait DigitalFraudry said that there had implemented 2x bounce on reflections and yet that cab's reflection sure as hell isnt included.
