Man I hope Indiana Jones looks amazing. Not really interested in Hellblade. Avowed.....last time threw some water on my excitement, but hopefully it looks better this time. Some surprises will be welcome.

Stop trying to be hopeful about xbox or you're going back to the naughty boys closet.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Hope to see some surprises too, but this sounds like it'll be very "by the numbers"

Indiana Jones is not really a killing machine. Obviously, he killed a few nazis but for the most part traps, environment, nature itself does the heavy lifting so I hope they incorporate that in the game.

Did anyone claim he was?

One could argue that that none of the "big 3" have that trifecta .
I would definitely argue that Sony and Nintendo are doing much better in hardware and retail sales.

Stunning market analysis aside, I'm excited to see what Xbox has in store and want them to win.

I know there is little chance of Indy being an open world game (especially with the seemingly short dev tme) but can you imagine an open world Indy game with like a huge South America or say Egypt set map, with temples and secrets all over the place, tombs to explore, cliff tops to climb, treasures to find, etc.

For me it would be awesome.

Hrm... I could see a game like that, but IMO it's not a great direction for Indy?

Open-World games are about tackling open objectives in the player's preferred order or approaching fortresses from whatever direction fits your playstyle/level, as well as having spaces to revisit for grinding stats and gear. Or, they're just giant playgrounds to fuck around in for mostly no reason.

Indy doesn't do a lot of fucking around. He's like, "Ok, I just got done in Nepal and picked up this map medallion, now I'm getting off the plane in Egypt to get this thing translated and *AH FUCK, NAZIS!* Well, those guys are dead but Marion got burned up, too bad, can't dwell on that now since I know where to bring the medallion and how big a stick to put it on so I'll go sneak into the maproom and then dig up the temple and pull out the Ark and take it back to *AH FUCK, NAZIS AGAIN!!* Oh, hi Marion..."

Indy adventures are A to B to C to Z. Games are different, there's always going to be some exploration and untimed quest challenges, but a propulsive and structured narrative generally drives it, particularly in the setpieces. The Nazis aren't going to just wait around at each quest goal spot for Jones to fuck around in the jungle finding little treasures and exploring temples on this side and then that of the country, they're on task to deliver a superweapon to Hitler ASAP.

Freely raiding tombs sounds more like Lara Croft's hobby; wolves don't care if you blast them with an uzi right now or 5 hours from now after you've gone off to raid a yeti citadel, they'll just sit there on their haunches waiting for something to bite.

Of course they are, but that was not my point.

IMO .Sony : Hardware MS : Elite 2 : Nintendo: Software

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

They've already told you what's going to be in the stream, not sure why you will be disappointed.

This isn't an E3 presser.

Indy just really would not benefit from being open world. Needs tightly designed levels with spectacle and decent puzzles.

Fair to say they are gonna ignore the multi platform rumours? Most likely since that would take the spotlight.
