The UEFA Champions League, known simply as the Champions League, is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football, played by the national league champion (and, for some nations, one or more runners-up) of each UEFA national association. The final of the 2012–13 tournament was the most watched UEFA Champions League final to date, as well as the most watched annual sporting event worldwide in 2013, drawing 360 million television viewers.

Introduced in 1992, the competition replaced the European Champion Clubs' Cup, or simply European Cup, which had run since 1955, adding a group stage to the competition and allowing multiple entrants from certain countries. The pre-1992 competition was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to the champion club of each country. During the 1990s, the format was expanded, incorporating a round-robin group stage to include clubs that finished runner-up of some nation's top level league. While most of Europe's national leagues can still only enter their national league champion, Europe's strongest national leagues now provide up to four teams for the competition, and will provide up to five teams from the 2015–16 season onwards. Clubs that finish next-in-line in each nation's top level league, having not qualified for the UEFA Champions League competition, may be eligible for the next level UEFA Europa League competition.

In its present format, the UEFA Champions League begins in mid-July with three knockout qualifying rounds and a play-off round. The 10 surviving teams enter the group stage, joining 22 other teams qualified in advance. The 32 teams are drawn into eight groups of four teams and play each other in a double round-robin system. The eight group winners and eight runners-up proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final match in May. The winner of the UEFA Champions League qualifies for the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

About Juventus:
Juventus Football Club S.p.A., commonly referred to as Juventus and colloquially as Juve, are a professional Italian association football club based in Turin, Piedmont. The club is the third oldest of its kind in the country and has spent the majority of its history, with the exception of the 2006–07 season, in the top flight First Division (known as Serie A since 1929).

Founded in 1897 as Sport Club Juventus by a group of young Torinese students, among them, who was their first president, Eugenio Canfari, and his brother Enrico, author of the company's historical memory; they have been managed by the industrial Agnelli family since 1923, which constitutes the oldest sporting partnership in Italy, thus making Juventus the first professional club in the country.

Overall, they have won fifty-eight official titles on the national and international stage, more than any other Italian club: a record thirty-one league titles, a record ten Italian cups, a record six national super cups, and, with eleven titles in confederation and inter-confederation competitions (two Intercontinental Cups, two European Champion Clubs' Cup/UEFA Champions Leagues, one European Cup Winners' Cup, three UEFA Cups, one UEFA Intertoto Cup and two UEFA Super Cups). The club ranks fourth in Europe and eighth in the world with the most trophies won.

I said Juventus could be a dangerous team at the beginning of the season and here we are.

I reckon Barcelona will win this though, they are in amazing form and if Messi plays like he did yesterday or against Bayern, good look to Juve, he will be hard to stop.

Hopefully Juventus have their weetabix or other breakfast oats on the day. Really want them to win.

Juve might do them, there is always that clinical and on the break side to Italian teams that destroys apparently much better teams. Depends if they can handle that, Barca hounding them all night and vice versa.

Should be a good match.

I don't think it will be as one sided as many think, but Barca and the GOAT should be able to win it.

I'm glad Juve got to the final and its not another el classico but I really can't see anything but a Barca win. Maybe if Tevez and Pirlo have amazing nights but Barca's front three are just so good. Messi this year has been off the scale. I mean, the man isn't football, its absolute magic what he pulls off. His goal in the copa del rey was fucking phenomenal.

Barcelona have really only won the Champions League/European Cup 4 times? Damn.

It felt like a lot more when United were getting beasted on by them in 2009 and 2011.

The biggest argument for a Barcelona rout is the Euro 2012 final, imo. But these are different teams, different circumstances. It'll be a good match, I think.
