This game is baffling in so many ways. It shows that it needed more months to be polished up, but underneath the many issues lies one of the best and most ambitious open world games ever made. Terrible optimization on all platforms, lots of pop-up, oceans of small and big bugs, lots of progression-related glitches, many features seem to not work as intended or not exist (the automated cars, the fact you can't change your appearance, etc.), all kinds of freezes and crashes. The interiors and characters look almost lifelike at times, even on consoles, then you go outside and during the day it all feels blurry, flat, at times looking worse than GTA V which isn't exactly a new game by now.
Seems clear to me this game was simply not ready but they had to publish it anyway, so here we are. Hell, they didn't even have the actual PS5 and XSX/S versions ready, we're playing through slightly enhanced (through brute force mostly) BC titles. I still stand by the fact it's one of the best games I played in several years, but after eating so many delays it feels baffling they eventually published it in this state. Then again it's COVID-19 season and they were crunching hard enough as is. I understand investors starting to get nervous, but they made their money back in like what, 2 days? Would it have killed them if the investment were a little higher for another 6 months of polish and they only get to recoup their money in... gasp... 3 days instead?
