They still want to make it. Eventually, Disney will want to give 2d a shot again and hopefully these guys will still be with the company when they do and they'll have the chance to pitch it.

It would be great that they did bumps for Disney Channel or whatever based in the Pocket Princesses idea.

Oh right. I just remembered this:

They're adorable :3

These are so cute and funny, thanks for introducing me to them! :>
If anyone wants to follow this on tumblr here's a link to the tag on the official blog.

When I clicked on the thread, I was expecting some kind of Disney Reality Show where women compete to be the next Disney Princess.

I'm not sure if it's the best idea ever or the worst, but my wife would watch the hell out of it.

Heh. My pleasure, i knew they'll be handy in the subject of this thread. Also check the author other works, they're great too!

*cute image*

Oh Snow White, you're so innocently adorable :3

The author also designs Snow White in an incredibly adorable way, I love it!

On another note with pocket princesses, I really like this one.
It's really cool how the author ties all the other Disney/Pixar stuff in these thing.

Saw a preview of Cinderella today at disneyland. Doesn't look that good to me. I'll stick with Ever After.

Bonham Carter was fun but the actress they got to play Cinderella was eh.

Jasmine typically takes top spot for me. Snow White or Pocahontas being bottom tier. Just my feelings.

And technically Elsa is a queen, so shouldn't be in the court of Princesses, though I guess they'll add her in for popularity's sake.

Elsa would be the best to be friends with. Only one old enough to drink with, plus the drinks would always stay chilled.

Yeah, but Jasmine and Ariel would win. Probably Ariel because she can just drown them all.

Jasmine having her tiger maul everyone is a possibility, too.

Kida or Mulan would make sushi out of Ariel. Jasmine is cool, but likely only good for stealth or running away scenarios. Ariel would be useless on land and would need to heavily rely on deep water.

In a fight, it's down to Pocahontas, Kida, Mulan or Nala, imo.

It seems as though every Disney heroine from Belle onwards has been decreed the studio’s “first feminist princess”: Since Disney’s most recent resurgence in critical and commercial power, the label has been applied liberally on every film, from Mulan to Moana. While it is encouraging that the most powerful behemoth in entertainment continues its progressive journey in regards to its portrayal of women, it seems odd to eschew the past in such a specific way. To deny Belle’s influence and importance within the canon of animation, children’s entertainment and pop culture at large is to deny a defining moment in their own history.
“They’re deeply suspicious of intelligence and at anyone who is going beyond that. Breaking the washing machine is symbolic of not just them breaking something she spent hours working on, they’re trying to break her spirit.”

Other than Watson’s dazzling understanding of metaphors, we see another clear problem with her take on the character and how Disney have diminished of their own creation. It is clear in the film why the villagers don’t like Belle. They distrust a woman who refuses to engage with the limiting roles forced upon women. A woman who reads books and seems utterly unconcerned with what people say about her is suspicious, more so when she refuses the attentions of the top bachelor in town and lives at home with a ‘kook’ professor. When Gaston comes to her house to propose to her, an array of villagers are outside waiting to ‘congratulate’ her, conveniently forgetting her obvious distaste for the man and the possibility she may not want to have a surprise wedding sprung upon her on her own doorstep. Even before the Mob Song – an entire song that reveals the easily encouraged paranoia and bullying of the town – it’s clear that the village are trapped by their own prejudices and ideas of how people, particularly women, should behave. Belle isn’t like them, so she must be corrected. She doesn’t need a washing machine metaphor to bash over the audience’s head.

The denial of the audience’s understanding of Belle’s journey by Watson as she continues her carefully manicured PR journey is something that Disney has quietly been doing for years. They deny the character’s influence and power even as they slap her face on every product possible. They fetishise the iconography surrounding her but never the icon herself. A character screenwriter Linda Woolverton fought tooth and nail to craft as deftly as she did is reduced to a mere stepping stone to promote the new effort. It’s not just a disheartening erasure of a cultural milestone; it’s lazy writing.
The Importance of Belle and Why Disney Should Stop Diminishing her Power

This person totally gets it.

Is the washing machine stuff from the live action movie? Because I don't remember it from the animated film, but on the other hand I haven't watched it in forever.

Ah..

Haven't seen it.

But I don't see how Belle was the very first. Even Pocahontas was rather feminist leaning. Although no-one remembers it for a reason.

Yo. Wreck it Ralph 2 is a super princess movie.

Let’s look at an exclusive clip from Wreck-It Ralph 2: Yesss takes Ralph and Vanellope on a VIP tour of the web that ends up at OhMyDisney.com. The meta tour of the website includes nods to Star Wars, Marvel, with a Marvel Yourself booth and a Stan Lee cartoon cameo. There’s animated appearances by Buzz Lightyear and Tinker Bell and nods to popular Disney merchandise like Tsum Tsum plush toys, or as Vanellope calls them, “little furry sausages with faces.”

Then, a stormtrooper is seen escorting Disney Princesses. Vanellope really wants to mess with the Disney princesses. She goes into their dressing room and encounters Moana, Pocahontas, Merida, Cinderella, Elsa, Anna, Jasmine, Snow White, Tiana, Rapunzel, Aurora, Ariel (with legs), and Belle. They end up becoming friends with the princesses questioning Vanellope about her princess qualifications. They determine she meets the requirements with this question: “Do people assume all your problems got solved because a big, strong man showed up in your life?”

Cut to all the princesses hanging out with Vanellope, slumber party style. Vanellope points out the princesses aren’t flawed and it makes them kinda cool. The princesses start confessing to their flaws, and no one can understand Merida, saying, “She’s from the other studio.”

All the actresses who originally voiced the princesses (and are still living) reprised their roles.

C-3PO comes to give princesses a five minute call time to show. They call him R2-D2 and then BB-8. Threepio exclaims, “You’re good with princesses they said, You’ll love this job. How I long for the days of Captain Solo.”

Is Anna still not an official Disney Princess? Is Moana an official Princess?

Anna and Elsa will never join the line because Frozen is too big an IP by itself. There will still be more little girls dressed as Anna or Elsa than Moana in 20 days. Moana should become one, but they haven't had a coronation in *ages*. Pity because the park Moana is perfection:

Huh.

I want Kiara to become an official princess, but that’ll never happen.

but it’s kinda amusing, in the lion guard she’s being raised to be the ruling Queen of the pridelands even though Simba and Nala now have a canon son.

the show takes place in between the timeskip of tlk2, with the events of the movie still being canon.
