It is for me too. I am happy we are getting Skate and Dead Space again but FFS give Burnout a freaking shot. Just once.
Amen brother Burnout need to come back.Even Paradise that took a somewhat different direction was awesome (even if I know some people here hate it).
I think that the paradise remaster sold well enough so maybe there's a chance ... I'd also like those scripted crash missions to come back fully exploiting physics and destruction.

I thought Recore would be good because Joe Staten wrote the story. I thought it would be a AAA metroidvania.

I still hope it will get a proper sequel taking lessons from the first game. It has so much potential.

That gamepass was a waste of money. Like I don't buy enough aaa games a year to make it worth it. What I wasn't expecting was all the indie gold on there.

I claimed 3d gaming was going to take off. I said it was the next step up from 1080p and would be considered normal soon. I was blown away by the idea of 3d gaming.

I thought that graphics performance between the Xbox Series X and the PS5 would be on par with PC this generation. This was before the 30 series Nvidia GPU's came out, admittedly, but still results are the results.

Haven't seen a single game that matches up. I'm also now mainly a PC gamer.

I really thought that Battlefield 2042 would be the big and triumphant return of the series. Jesus!

I was also hesitant about Nintendo Switch like many others.

Bonus: First time I heard Wannabe by Spice girls on the radio, while hungover like a fucking boss, I literally said. “Poor girls, they can’t even hit a note - listen to this shit. They will have this one hit wonder and everyone will forget about them.”

Hahahaha.

I still stand by that they “sing” really badly on that single though - but I was incredibly WRONG. :messenger_squinting_tongue:

that playstation was trash.

played battle arena toshinden at a sears and thought "hm, ok".
then saw ridge racer in a demo loop from a store window and thought "not bad".
then i heard the boot sound, and saw the MGS intro at a local game store, and that was that.

still prefer the n64 though.

I think I seriously believed PS2 would have competition, that its competitors would have learned from their mistakes in the 32-bit era and that basically all non-exclusive games in the 6th gen would be multiplat because come on, the hardwares were basically on even ground, with the PS2 being actually one of the weakest and having inferior ports of Dreamcast games.

I didn’t enjoy my PS2 remotely as much as the PS1, too, so a piece of that crow is still stuck in my throat.

Zelda windwaker looks like a shitty kids game. WTF are Nintendo thinking? They’re out of touch with the industry. They should all be fired. They’re stupid and are making stupid decisions! Absolute idiots!

Zelda WW turns out to be one of the goats. Egg+my face

Agreed. Played it in GP. Really enjoyed it. But needs to be a bit tighter and polished. I’d love a sequel.

I thought consoles were better than PC's until 2017. And then I bought one for gaming...

...now I don't have any consoles. Or ever will. I experienced Native 4K 120Fps for the first time on PC, further solidifying my stance. I tasted regional store pricing, I get to use a controller like my DS4, I get to play RTX, DLSS and other new tech first, also I can customize my games to whatever settings I want.

...yea, I'm never going back. I'm such a snob now that I haven't had a PC since 2019 and just play on GeForce Now. I also like minimalism.

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
Wait you're not saying you were wrong to say horizon forbidden West doesn't have vibrant colours? Think you've missed the point of this thread :p

-----

I was wrong to think emulation is great value, i had a XSS for emulation and, after getting all the old games i wanted to work on it, i realised i didn't want to play them anymore and sold it. I'll be very careful in future when investing in emulation devices.
I hear you on that. I spend days customizing Retroarch and Rom setup on my shield tv. I had games from every genre, some systems entire library including hard to find Arcade games. AFter set up, I no longer really wanted to play most any more. Games have evolved so much, most of those games make you feel like a simpleton. Past should stay in the past.

That I was going to enjoy the shit out of BotW, boy was I wrong.
Totally agree. It's not a bad game but way way over hyped. If It did not have the name Zelda attached to it I really believe it would be a 7 grade by most standards at most.

Well I thought Switch would sell in the 60-70 range like the 3DS.

Crow please, thanks.

I thought the Wii u would sell more than it did, and the switch would sell less that it has so far

I also thought there was no way Sony would win me back in the PS3 generation nor Microsoft in the Xbox one generation

But Sony really turned it around with the slim and finished that gen super strong and I got a ps4 on day 1

And Microsoft really turned things around once the One S and later the one X came out, for me anyways, and I got a series X on day 1

"Ok, I'll buy and play Team Fortress 2 with you, guys, but this game looks very uninteresting and I doubt I'll ever play it again past today..."

Eat crow again for this statement

Nope. BotW is a bad Zelda game if you even want to call it a Zelda game. Doesn't help it's also not a very good game in general. Only started to be ok once I hacked my Switch in order to cheat and make all the weapons unbreakable. Once I realized that the empty, boring open-world filled with useless enemy encounters, didn't really have anything interesting to discover, I went for the final boss and was happy to sell it afterwards.

Can't wait for Nintendo to release BotW2 and hopefully return to proper Zelda games afterwards.

Looks like botw went over your head honestly, this is one of those "you don't get it" situation. But ok, it's ok to be wrong. And if you think the old Zelda formula is going to comeback after selling 27 million copies, oh boy. Best you wild get is a mix of ocarina of time and botw = botw 2.

There isn't really much to get, that's the point. They had interesting ideas with the physics based puzzles, and I liked the mini-shrines. But why bother if reward is useless? Why go into an enemy camp if you get a shitty weapon for which you maybe destroyed a good one? No real dungeons and the bosses were lazy copy-paste fights.

If the real Zelda formula is not coming back, I'm fine, means I will replay the old ones if I have a itch for proper Zelda games and that I will skip future non-Zelda entries.
