It's funny how some of the people on this forum push an agenda.i never saw a critic rate something a 9/10 that was forgettable.Wait what? They aren't saying it's decent and forgettable, that's a 7/10, not 9/10..
Why not re-visit it in May for a 2nd playthrough via co-op?Sounds good, just bummed that coop won't be here for a while. Will probably just wait until then to jump in with my kids.
Read between the lines basically.Watched the whole IGN review and I was shocked to hear him say a 9/10.
He said the story didn’t do what it set out to do (soft reboot and wrap up the failures of 5), the game looks artistically bland and there is nothing new in the game that we haven’t seen before somewhere else.
That doesn’t sound like a 9/10 to me but hopefully those that play it enjoy it
Not sure if posted already. Gman is pretty lukewarm on Infinite.
Which is 6 years and 2 months if you don't understand the dates.
And? Should you be required to be a Halo super fan to enjoy their first game in 6 years?2nd minute in. "Im not invested in the series or story". Close tab. Next.
And? Means he's not biased and the game isn't getting extra credit for being Halo game. It either makes someone love the game or say that the game is overhyped by fanboys.2nd minute in. "Im not invested in the series or story". Close tab. Next.
Please refer all questions comments and concerns to the resident gaf accountant and budget manager, Thankyou~why would you think it relevant to derail into a conversation about ‘recouping budget’ when the campaign is not yet released?
This thread is for the paid single player campaign, not the F2P multiplayer. And even if it were about the MP, it would still be a puzzling conversation to be talking about budget recouping at this point.
To be fair, GMAN often talks about not liking Halo, and in this very vid he says he hasnt even played Halo since Halo 2 on the orig Xbox lol. Gman is def more into DOOM style gameplay.2nd minute in. "Im not invested in the series or story". Close tab. Next.
I'd argue that most people aren't invested in the series or story at this point, especially after Halo 4 & 5. Just completely forgettable.2nd minute in. "Im not invested in the series or story". Close tab. Next.
If youre not invested in the series then your opinion is just lower on the totem imo. Why would I ( who finished all the halo campaigns on heroic and enjoyed the story) want to listen to someone decidedly not interested in the series. Does he even care about Forerunners (nope.), how about chief and cortana kinda fucked up relationship( nope). Is the semi open world better than odst ( did he even play it), hows the moment to moment gameplay, is it slower or faster than 5 ( maybe ...)And? Should you be required to be a Halo super fan to enjoy their first game in 6 years?

Yeah ive seen some of his vids circulating my youtube algorithm. Just not what I look for in a halo review.I'd argue that most people aren't invested in the series or story at this point, especially after Halo 4 & 5. Just completely forgettable.
Gman is a good YouTuber btw. He covers FPS almost exclusively and is always fair with his critiques. It's weird that people would get overly defensive about his review just because he isn't a Halo 'mega fan'.
Thank you for the update.I need to correct myself. I said 10+ hours on when you are dealing only with main mission, but now I read on Kotaku, that game clock reverts when you die so it is probably quite more.
You never know they might had a bit of snow over Xmas to change it a littleThat biome shit is WACK!
How do you more than one!?
Outside of that it sounds pretty damn awesome, but that does suck.
Should it not stand on it's own? I didn't play 5 so will I not be able to enjoy it?If youre not invested in the series then your opinion is just lower on the totem imo. By the end of this thread, the detractors will be saying it was a decade long project that cost Microsoft over a billion dollars. Hyperbole has no limit for trolls. Now it's 7 years?
Halo games aren't open ended RPG experiences like Fallout or Skyrim where each entry is pretty much a self-contained story. Jumping in to Halo Infinite (6th mainline entry) without knowing/playing any of the other games is like watching the Disney Star Wars trilogy without first watching the movies written by George Lucas. And? Should you be required to be a Halo super fan to enjoy their first game in 6 years?

The dude straight up says he was never a fan of the Halo games. Don't know what you are talking about with this "super fan" business. But if I were looking for a review to see if the new Halo was any good, I would be more interested in the opinions of someone who is actually into the Halo games, than the opinions of someone who doesn't like that style of shooter in the first place. And? Should you be required to be a Halo super fan to enjoy their first game in 6 years?
If the internet didn't exist I would agree with you. I haven't completed a Halo game since three but it's not hard to at least have a familiarity with where the story is atm.Halo games aren't open ended RPG experiences like Fallout or Skyrim where each entry is pretty much a self-contained story. He gave it an honest shot. He played it for 14 hours. I think it's obvious you didn't like it (if you even watched it) was because it wasn't glowing praise. The dude straight up says he was never a fan of the Halo games. He is entitled to his opinion of course, and all the power to him, but as someone who did really like the original trilogy, his review is kind of meaningless to me.
Review: Halo Infinite’s campaign finishes the fight—but arrives in tatters
Nice to see all the good scores (I'm sure we can believe them just like 2042, lol).
Just wait
Now GTFO of here.
Exactly which is why I'm confused about the 7 years commentaryWhich is 6 years and 2 months if you don't understand the dates.
Maybe more like a Twilight Princess 8.8 moment.86/86 on metacritic and opencritic
Not bad but not the ‘BOTW’ halo moment some of those journalist were claiming, even if it goes back up its not enough to make it onto opencriticcs best of for 2021
If you rearrange the letters you get IGN "Farce"I get that they are by different people but it is funny the Infinite review talks bad about Halo 5 and says Infinite is better, giving Infinite a 9/10, while IGN also gave Halo 5 a 9/10 lol
I think that is IGN France.
Dunno what you're on about mate. Watched the whole video, actually. Halo 5 was trash, Halo 4 was kind of middling, I've expressed issues I have with the multiplayer and concerns I have for the campaign before. I don't even really dislike his video. He gave it an honest shot. He played it for 14 hours. I think it's obvious you didn't like it (if you even watched it) was because it wasn't glowing praise.
Fair enough. There were multiple kneejerk reactions to his video and I might have lumped you in with them. I'm a very mild fan and I found his review useful.Dunno what you're on about mate. But a guy who doesn't like Halo games that much, not being too hot on the latest Halo game, isn't exactly a revelation. Like, yeah, no kidding. I'd be more surprised if he loved it.
Useful for people who also aren't really into the Halo franchise, I guess.

This 4K capture of Halo Infinite was taken from an Xbox Series X. Seriously. That's a screenshot from an actual Series X video game in 2021.
Can not wait. MS as a publisher had an absolutely killer year.
Literally people are having a meltdown with Xbox having a good year.
A few very polarizing reviews, which I guess isn’t super surprising. Hopefully reviews like Ars Technica’s are a little overly harsh, I’d like to see 343 with a win here. Feel like that studio needs one.
Is that Minecraft's island out there?
That $500 millions budget was from an old rumor that Frankie debunked a year or two ago on resetera. It’s not a real number and has never come up since. But people that hate on Halo being it up as if it’s some form of scarlet letter. So why bring up 500million? Especially if i didnt say that, i know you dont know but warnen has been found in ‘other threads’ worried about development costs so i just thought he would be equally troubled over such a big budget free 2 play game and rather or not it will manage to recoup, berk got involved because shes one of those people who throw out the phrase console warring without any thought or logic.
also i dont owe you a response but im doing it because i actually think youre a decent poster, cant say too much bout the other.
